    Thanks, Phil! Your video has just proved one more time that this is exactly the speaker that I need! :) I am really into portability, I'm focusing on getting the whole DJ set of equipment that's gonna fit in a backpack like a DJ(laptop) foldable stand + Traktor z1 with iPad+Marshall Middleton = and you can play a mix in the middle of mountains if you wish with no electricity required! Hope to purchase it soon!

    Thank you, Phil!
    I always appreciate these videos. I started DJing as a hobby 37yrs ago, and eventually became a pro within that time, and even though I have experience with a lot of gear, I feel that we should never stop learning. You and DDJT team are an invaluable source for that. I’ve added comments, and in the chat, mainly for the ones getting started, but I never expressed my gratitude for all of it, and wanted to now. Thank you, again!

    Minirig's are still my favorite go-to speakers for outdoor DJ-ing. Tho I would be interested if you guys can do a comparison of this Marshall with the Minirig and their various setup.

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Minirigs are better than these for DJing simply because they have lower latency. These are better all-rounders. We are planning on reviewing a number of speakers in the coming months and then producing a roundup.

    I tried it for performing with guitar and vocals but the latency is too high for me....via aux cable! any way to fix that? or can you recommend a compact good speaker without latency? I mean...latency via bluetooth is predicable....but why is there a latency via cable? thanks in advance...

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, even this has a little latency via cable - Minirig speakers don't - look at those.

    Would be great to see a colab with Alan Ross, one of the top independent reviewers of portable speakers on youtube. He is based in the uk. He includes latency tests as well for the DJs in his audience. I'm sure he can provide you with a list of low latency speakers. Btw, the featured speaker has nothing to do with Marshall apart from a licencing agreement. From my own experience you get as dj a better quality for your buck if you go for no nonsense brands like Soundcore, Tribit, Earfun rather than the marketing heavy brands like Jbl, Marshall etc where you pay a high premium to the marketing department, licence holders and shareholders.

    How about DJing with an EV Everse 8 for small party outdoors. It has bluetooth as well as XLR inputs for mic and speaker. Has 8 hour battery. Will that have any latency issues??

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Almost certainly not as it is not primarily a Bluetooth speaker and is designed for performers.

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your feedback. to be clear:
      1. We didn't recommend this to "any DJ", we were clear who it is not for (scratch/performance DJs will certainly not like the minimal but existent latency)
      2. We are a DJ school, we accept no payments at all from any companies whose products we review or use, we are 100% funded by our students.
      Hope that clears up your concerns,

    i'm interested in numbers. how long is the latency? how audible is it actually. - which number of milliseconds difference can an average user/party guest actually detect?
    also, can it simply be mitigated by beatmatching fully in your ehadphones by CUE'ing the main out to your headphones?

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not about the party guests, it's about the DJ (the guests don't care). About 20ms is what most experienced DJs can detect. And yes, if you DJ completely in your headphones, you'll mitigate it entirely - one good reason to do so!
