Colorado didn't "struggle" against BYU, they were completely destroyed. BYU's coach could have easily ran up the score into the 50s, but put BYU 2nd string into the game during most of the 4th quarter.
BYU defense is insanely good. They were top 10 for a lot of the season with a good not great offense. They got there because of these guys crushing it!
BYU played their roles mistakes they made Colorado didn't capitalize on not taking any credit away from them but it was more of a Colorado meltdown rather than a BYU stampede they picked retzloff off plenty of times got stop the offense was just shit this should've been a back and forth affair. It's not even that colorado is bad it's just the same crap we've said needs to be fixed all year hasn't been fixed and a team capitalized on it
at 5:48 where the BYU linebacker blows by the left guard , that was an amazing defensive play! The BYU guy at left end lines up to rush and then drops back into coverage, so the the entire defensive line of BYU starts moving to their left. The Colorado guard gets decoyed by BYU #11 moving left. The linebacker looks like at first he was in position to drop back in zone coverage, but then instead does a delayed "blitz" from a couple yards away from scrimmage after he sees that the Colorado guard was decoyed by BYU #11, opening a lane for him to sprint and sack. Great play by BYU. Whoa, that was freaking awesome. BYU was owning the Colorado line when they made plays like that with stunts all sorts of games up front.
They also have 1 run formation which is in shotgun. Makes it easier for good defenses to adjust to when you only have one run formation which has barely worked all year. No base, strong, or weak running formations.
Critiquing Sanders always draws emotional reactions. As a Qb coach, I could care less what the kid’s name is…what the tape show is what matters. Of course, analytics matters as well Sanders did not face a pass defense in the top 40 all season long. BYU was the first, they are ranked 24th in that category in passing yards allowed. Sanders has 3 WRs potentially that will be playing on Sunday. Sheppard Horn And the best Player in the country Hunter BYU doesn’t have a single DB NFL bound, nor did CU play any NFL bound DB that is projected to be in this upcoming draft all season long. All that info matters when evaluating such an important position like Qb. So this BYU game was important for Sanders to solidify the narrative he is a 1st round prospect. The fail rate for 1st round Qbs is just over 75% since 2014. In addition, coming into this game, Sanders had the most time to throw than any other Qb coming into this draft. Sanders gets on average of 2.96 seconds to throw per pass play. Almost a half second longer than any Qb in the upcoming draft. All BYU did is rotate Dog pressures all night and played Cover 2 behind it all night. BYU knew Sanders arm strength isn’t one that can fit into tight windows. They baited him to throw late to his wide outlets by squeezing the interior route concepts. They also took advantage of Sanders pension to hold the ball too long and focus on the pass rush. Anyone that watched the game, it’s obvious Sanders did not have a great night. If I was a NFL GM, I would demand Sanders to change his mind and participate in the Senior Bowl before I would seriously consider picking him in round 1. Sanders has to prove that he candle handle foggy pockets, take snaps from center and fit throws into tight windows vs NFL caliber prospects at all levels. He isn’t going to get an average of 2.96 at the NFL level. BYU squeezed that clock last night and Sanders struggled in a major way. Ducking the Senior Bowl looks like you are hiding from legit competition and when you are not big, or lack speed to escape rushers or have questions about arm strength, it is there you can remove all doubts. Good luck to the kid. To me he is a 2nd round Qb at best. A good Senior Bowl showing could change that.
You have to get invited to the Bowl, He was invited to the East West Shrine Bowl and is participating. Lajontay Wester is also going to get drafted. Your opinion is respected, but not all correct. I think he should be drafted and sit for most of the year like a Michael Penix and not thrown in the fire like a Bo Nix. Sitting a year might even be better. If he starts out of pressure he will get hurt or have the expectations ruin his future. Cam Ward should be the top QB in the draft. This is my non-bias view.
@@ToussaintProductions I agree Ward will be first pick. I also agree Sanders needs to sit for a season indeed. Senior Bowl is by invitation yes, daddy said they are accepting the EW shrine instead. Big mistake in my opinion. Just an unbiased opinion. Doesn’t mean anything I know. Hope the best for the kid.
You spitting facts bro. They gonna call you a hater for saying anything about bad aboutSheduer sanders tho. Dude ain’t it I just don’t see a NFL caliber quarterback at all I’m sorry
I really didn't care who won the game. I watched because I expected it to be a competitive game. It looks to be a flawed culture on the Colorado side. You had Colorado players dancing around and celebrating a simple good football play or tackle AND THEY WERE DOWN BY 20 POINTS at that stage. In contrast, the BYU players kept their heads up, kept their feet moving and played with class and passion. This reality will, more times than not, result in a blowout with the deservedly confident and class team winning.. PERIOD.
i was there the byu players were playing with passion but not class and the whole point of this game is to have fun old ass non players like you love to drain that aspect of the game out of football
You cant blame the OC, deion is at fault here. Hes ran the exact same offense since back at jackson state.......even back 2 high school. Not 2 mention he doesn't ever run the ball and stick 2 running the ball. ( then we can also discuss flea needed fired last year, so did hart. They still both need fired). Shedeur checks 2 many calls at line, slow reads, refuses to get ball out of his hands, arm strength has always lacked. A lot of it boils down 2 pure coaching tho. O line gets dogged for teams easily able 2 predict colorado.
@@luismartinez1560 They aren't my team and when I do catch a game. A quarter at most what ill watch and move on. Take away the story lines with media hype. Colorado the football team is not an exciting team to watch on tape.
This is a lie. They run a similar offense. JSU had a 1k yard rusher. This is an offense Pat Shurmur formulated around Shedeur using some schemes and concepts he's used to from JSU.
The OL has a terrible day, in particular Tyler Brown who's filling in for Phillip Houston who tore his ACL. This year's squad has a lot more depth than last year but there are some positions like the tackles, LB, and safety where our depth just wasn't there yet. Some recruiting misses cost us a lot.
The real reason is they wasn’t in shape, they looked like they haven’t been in the weight room at all for the past couple of months. BYU just gave them a good butt whopping and showed them how a team prepares for a bowl game!
This is on sheduer, online and Pat. It's pat because he is allowing sheduer to call these plays this is why they are running these basic ass play concepts. No control. Also if sheduer going to be the first QB he has to do better because when watching cam ward he is very decisive and gets the ball out quick within the offense. Also he has great arm talent.
Now we lying. Cam ward holds the ball too long too 😭That is literally one of the things that scouts and everyone says about him. Always trying to extend plays and that gets him in trouble which is what killed Miami vs GA Tech
I have a basic understanding of the game, and I thought the same thing you mentioned at [00:03:20]. If Shedeur had released the ball in under 0.6 seconds to the players you circled in blue, BYU’s defense wouldn’t have had time to react. The offensive coordinator should have adapted immediately to the situation.
We need to be HONEST about DEION Sanders. WHY was BYU so much better prepared for this BOWL game than CU was? FACT: Coach Prime has only won 1 out of his last three bowl games going back to Jackson state. FACT: The responsibility for for having your team prepared falls on the head coach. Yes, there is an OC and DC, but they answer to the head coach. FACT: Coach Prime has allowed Shedeur to hurt his team by holding onto the ball TOO LONG and NOT THROWING IT AWAY. RUNNING BACKWARD 20 or more yards and getting sacked will NOT FLY IN THE NFL. FACT: As terrible as CU was before Coach Prime took over, the run game was actually much better. CU has had had great to very good RBs in the past. FACT: Lack of any type of consistent meaningful run game is a problem. Passing wins games, but a run game WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS. Any credible coach will admit to this. FACT: Severe lack of TEAM DISCIPLINE. Colorado ends the 2024 season as the most penalized team in the BIG 12. WHAT WE DON'T KNOW We don't know if (OC Shurmur) was just calling plays to pad Shedeur stats and make him happy VS having terrible running backs and a really bad run blocking OL. In games where CU made an a decent effort to run the ball, the RB's were not world beaters, but they ran well enough to take pressure of of Shedeur. PROS: 1. Deion is GREAT at promoting and getting media exposure. 2. DEION has a done a VERY GOOD JOB at getting better players through the portal and some out of HS. CONS: 1. Deion is NOT good at clock management. 2. Deion is NOT good at having his team prepared in BOWL games. 3. In inadequate emphasis put on the importance of a solid run game.
Spot on, with one correction - he's 0-3 in bowl games. Lost 2 at JSU, and this one. Last season, I was hesitant to call it 'daddy ball', but that's what we saw. This wasn't a Pat Shurmer offense. He's always been much more balanced in philosophy and scheme - 11 and 12 personnel with emphasis to run the ball. I think he had his hands tied, unfortunately, and to the detriment of the team.
@@markt6411meaningless? I don't think it was meaningless for shadeur, he damaged his profile ,I seriously doubt that bowl game was meaningless to Colorado, a program that has struggled horribly until recently, it was meaningless to you because you didn't put any hard work, practice , blood ,sweat ,and tears to have a respectable season to get to a bowl game, you really think after all that then the team is going to be like, "doesn't matter" "who cares"? Get real
He has always done that and then blame the OL for the issues of him getting sacked. He has been coached by his dad his whole life and has been cater to by his Dad (never been associated with his actions being the problem). If I am NFL GM or Owner, I would avoid drafting him in the first round because I don't know if he can handle being accountable for the first time in his career.
Why? Colorado is/was overhyped. One thing Deion is good at is making individuals believers in themselves. That doesn’t mean he creates a team culture . BYU schooled Colorado on what it means to play as a TEAM.
2:20 The game plan wasn't to win the game, it was to get the ball to JH05 so he could show for scouts. CU didn't run an offense this season. They just called plays as if it were a 7x7 summer passing league. I'd love to see a Gruden QB camp w/SS02. JG would rip him a new one and there is no way SS02 could take that. The OC (Shurmer) may need to go, but you can't blame him. It wasn't his offense. He was just calling plays that SS02 liked. Deion has done a good job of recruiting. Now that SS02 is gone, we can see how good of a coach he is.
Colorado. Overrated. Over-hyped. Completely dominated. Hunter is very good, but didn’t deserve the Heisman over Ashton Jeanty. The only reason he won is because of the media’s fixation with “Coach Prime.”
First thing I thought during this game with BYU stuffing their offense was the play concepts weren’t new or revised… Shurmur didn’t give them any looks that confused the defense or gave them pause… that’s credit to Coach K and his staff getting his kids ready with film study… lastly, Colorado’s OL been suspect for two seasons… that’s a must fix for 25… great breakdown… 🍻
The ultimate issue with CU's offense is the same as it was last year: the inability to consistently run the ball. The only reason CU's record was so much better in 2024 than 2023 is because the schedule was dramatically weaker than 2023. For comparison, CU faced 6 ranked opponents in 2023, going 1-5 against them. In 2024, they faced 1 ranked opponent, losing that game. I am very confident that if CU had played a schedule comparable in difficulty to the 2023 schedule, their record would have capped out around 6-6. Why? Because the offense and defense, for the most part, demonstrated the same problems they had in 2023: inability to run the ball, inability to protect the passer, and inability to stop the run on defense.
Jimmy Horn at 8:00 was a hospital ball, that’s Sheduer fault. This is the real film for Sheduer, his protection and the pass rush he’s going to face is only going to get harder, and Sheduer being best outside the pocket? Glad you cut out all those dirt balls he threw, this was some glazing tape.
The play design was a slot fade, if he isnt going to throw it to the slot/fade, why call the play? Now could he have put more velocity on the pass, maybe. But he made the right decision, and the pass hit the WR in the hands. You have to make that catch imo
@@3pac7he makes the o line look way worse than they actually are. He’s no better than Justin fields and Daniel Jones when it comes to taking sacks that you don’t need to be taking
@@The_Football_Scout You're right. He made the right decision, but he took too long. If he gets the ball out a second sooner, on a line to the sideline, at the 45, it's a catch and Horn is one on one with the safety. But he threw up a late rainbow. The pot of gold at the end was a kill shot that all safeties dream of. How do you think the conversation will go next year if he hangs a veteran receiver out to dry like that in the NFL?
@@The_Football_Scoutfor a guy with “elite” arm talent, that ball shouldn’t been on a rope or thrown 1 second sooner, that ball should’ve of been out the second Jimmy cleared the DB. Sheduer made the right read, it was just late, you can argue every time a receiver touches the ball they should catch it, but those balls set receivers up to get murdered.
One team came to play a football game, the other came to party on the river walk. Above all, that was the biggest reason Colorado struggled. Deion needs to seriously reevaluate how he goes about big games. As a team, they looked out of shape and unprepared. Their body language pre game suggested they thought were going to dog walk BYU. Nick Saban says it best when he talks about “rat poison”. CU didn’t just drink the rat poison, they chugged it.
Because this game was meaningless. That's why Ward checked out of that Pop Tart Bowl at the 1/2. No matter how much you try to make it important, it wasn't important.
@ I disagree partially. If you’re in the shoes of guys like Travis, Cam, Shedeur, etc, then yes, it’s not important. But for everyone else, it’s wildly important. It gives you a final chance to put something good on film for scouts.
@@3pac7 let me start with saying he is a 1st round pick due to position. These are his cons: average arm strength, slow internal clock, below average athleticism, hasn’t won any big games throughout career, doesn’t like option routes (which is what NFL offenses use), makes bad decisions under pressure, and last but not least doesn’t set blocking protections. Here are his pros: calm on pressure moments, confident, accurate arm, and comfortable in the limelight.
@ that’s fair but every team has the same break. Keep in mind this is the third time Prime and Sheduer has been upset in the biggest game of the year (bowl games). If any other coach did that everyone would have questions what is going on. Hell OSU on the hot seat for losing to Michigan every year (the big game)
When Deion Sanders was named coach of the Buffs, I knew that it would take years to mold the Buffs into the team he envisioned. He as had increasing success without a doubt over his two seasons. There are those who point to the team's obvious deficiencies and for the most part, the criticism is merited. However, the broader context is important and what he's done for the Buff's program, student life and the university needs to be recognized. Let's see what happens next season and see where the Buffs are on January 19, 2026.
Easy to analysis it now , remember BYU D's gave sanders different looks. Sanders "lost confidence" in his O-line and again "no run" game [its was just basic] to keep BYU's D guessing. I think you might be right about "Pat OC" unless Sanders is changing the plays at the L.O.S....
BYU was better!! Period! No need to complicate things, BYU played faster, stronger and more solid football !! CU looked outmatched , scared and looked like last year team!
I like your breakdown and have spent time breaking down the offense also. This isn't the OC's offense. Pat Shurmur is a 11 or 12 personnel type of guy if you look at his track history. Which in reality would help this offensive line. If you are able checkout Colorado's offense last year under a different coordinator, Jackson State, and even Trinity High School. This offense is definitely Coach Prime's offense. This also brings into question Shedeur's ability to make the proper reads when he's been working out of a playbook for so long and should know like the back of his hand. The rabbit hole gets deeper once you start digging. lol
😂. Not Shermur offense? The man is the OC. If he is using another man playbook, then he deserve to be fired. Also, are you saying Pat runs the same offense with ever team he has been even with even if the peronals are different from the previous team? Y'all just say whatever
@@choosenone20901 Bro it's very simple, some of us been following Deion since he started coaching in high school until now. We kept telling you bandwagon fans that Deion is an control freak and this is the same Offense Deion called at Trinity. The OC's are stand in's running his plays. TC Taylor was the OC at JSU before Deion demoted him for someone else. Just some quick history..
@8:30, same problem as the one at 4:13. This is a coaching problem because he’s being taught to read the flood concept to the right and he missed the back side dig because he’s rolling out and pressured on the throw. Not trying to make for him but better play calling would solve some of these problems.
Was at the game. Yes BYU dominated, Colorado had some good plays. I think in the 1st qtr when BYU was ahead 10-0, Travis Hunter caught a pass and took ot all the way down to the 10 yd line. If Colorado would been able to punch it in, it would have changed the dynamics of the game. I was also rooting for BYU, but i don't hate Colorado but have alot of resoect for them and Coach Prime.
CU went in the bowl trying to get yardage for some of the receivers who’ve been out with injuries. Unfortunately CU has failed to understand you play win. Travis was in the game for what reason cause he was open and the better selection on most of the plays had Shedeur thrown to him more they might not have gotten smoked so badly.
After watching Picnic Jr and Daniels tonight, there is no way Shedure is playing at that level, and these guys are the successful rookies in the NFL. Not to mention, Bo Nix and the success he's having. Shedure's best option is to just ride the bench early on to get acclimated first, then try to slowly work his way into the lineup. This is the only way Shedure doesn't get totally exposed. If Shedure tries to play as a starter, like Nix, Penix or Daniels it's going to be disasterous for him and career ending with getting cut after only a few seasons. Shedure has to accept where and who he truly is... A good lower level QB in college who may get a couple looks as a starter who won't be expected to carry an NFL team for at least historically first 3 or 4 season. Just go ahead a face the reality.
You also have to understand what looks open to us, not always open in real time, because you never know the closing speed of the opponent. OC needs more movement, more schemes, and more shifts. Oc looks like a 7 on 7 offense.
@@gigpro4969 They probably will🤣. Tell me you haven’t watched Colorado without telling me you haven’t watched Colorado. All prime knows how to do is statpad Travis and shader 🤣
Dude this is a new OC. He was better than the last one. Also that throw to horn was late - and that wasn't the fault of horn. You can't catch a ball as you are getting hit from that angle. Sometimes you just get beat and that's what happened. They were not properly prepared to win on either side of the ball.
@@coachjayy That hit was square on his spine when the ball was on his extended hands. The throw might not have been terrible, but Safety Tanner Wall made a great play on the ball. He did it all night. Unlucky deflection-pick maybe, but you still gotta give credit to the Corner Johnson for making it look easy.
@@qmccall0328 at the same time. How do you think the league is going to see that? You're a wide receiver. You gotta make that catch. For him. If he does go. I could depend on getting more reps. Or not.
Glad you did this breakdown. Most of the plays that are successful are BUSTED PLAYS.If they did not have receivers that can improvise, they would not have made it.😅
If there is an NFL OL that's getting destroyed on a 4 man rush while dropping 7, every single OL needs to be cut right then and there. In the NFL, 4 rushers on 5 OL is a winning situation for the OL unless they are blocking for too long and even then, that's money. Even the worst pass-blocking teams can function in a 4 man pass rush.
Colorado buffaloes football team , don't focus on the running game they depend on the pass . There running back and tight ends don't help block on pass plays . The Colorado defense spends more time on the field while BYU defense is resting they are hydrated and fresh because Colorado doesn't have a running game , just look at the stats BYU had almost 200 yards rushing to Colorado 0 . Amen ! 🙏 ❤ ✌ ⚖ unity .
Areas for the Buffs to improve on for next season. offensive line, running game, higher quality of receivers, and a strong defensive front seven against the run. Don't get it twisted. Shedeur is a decent college QB, but depending where he gets drafted for the NFL will matter on his success. Of course, he has to improve but we'll see how it goes. The real question is how Travis Hunter will do in the NFL. I honestly see him as a receiver than a DB, but it'll be interesting who drafts him because the guy can ball. Just depends what he prefers to mainly play when he's in the NFL.
Thanks for this. That game was so frustrating. If you are going to lose this bad in the last game of the season, at least try something different. The offense was too predictable and individual and team effort was lacking. On the defensive side, they allowed the game to be too easy for BYU. Coach Prime has to take some time to clear his head, then look at what HAS to change for the 2025 season. The slow first half starts, no running game, lacking in dominance, speed, and skill at the line of scrimmage, and a QB with limited options, some by his own doing. IF YOUR RECEIVERS CAN'T GET OPEN AND YOU CAN'T POUND THE BALL ON THE GROUND, HOW THE HELL DO YOU PLAN TO WIN AGAINST THE BETTER DEFENSES? It's as if they do didn't have plans A, B, and C in the play book all season long as they looked the same against the tough teams. Coach Prime, Coach Shurmur and Coach Livingston have got to take it to the next level and not let the program back slide next year. So much to improve, they need to find better plays and better ways to teach, develop, and motivate. Keep going!
Biggest problem I see is the running attack because Colorado doesn't have a running back, plus they lost because byu had a good running attack, Colorado should be trying to find a good RB
The Buffs is a solid team. Just that BYU has one of the best defenses, especially in the passing game. BYU won most of their games because of their defense.
@@cooldudecsThey are average at best. Who have they beaten in 2 years??? TCU last year!!!! LMFO They lose to every above average team they have faced. The only difference between this team and last years team is the strength of the opponents they faced otherwise it would be 4-11 again.
This what I hate about people who break down film… they will break down a bad game but none of the good games at all, then all the people in the comments throw these wild opinions of what a player is like one game defines a player. So let’s ignore all the success and let this one game define sanders??? So let’s ignore how he elevated this team when if he’s not there that team wins no more than 3 games. He has things to clean up but which QB in the last 5 years that came out didn’t?? People in the comments act like one bad game means he’s not good. It’s alot of hate in these comments as it is anytime sanders doesn’t play out of his mind and even then it’s some kinda hate behind it 😂.
I still believe he is the best QB in this draft. My critic on him is what you mention is playing within the structure of the offense. I feel he attempts to try to make the big play to many times instead of making check downs or quick passes and then they end up in 3rd and long. I think Pat Shurmur was in a difficult position with play calling where he feels obligated to keep the ball in Shedeurs hands regardless of down and distance and that ends up handicapping the offense bc u can almost predict what's going to happen.
His situation is almost the exact same as Manziel at Texas A&M. Shedeur is more accurate, Manziel a far better athlete, but they play the same way, holding the ball while all day, playing out of structure. Manziel had Mike Evans, Shedeur has Travis. Difference is Manziel played future NFL athletes in the SEC, Shedeur is in the AAC+. Manziel did have an elite offensive line in 2012, but Shedeur has NFL receivers playing Big 12 DBs.
@@courtlandwilliams4725 They play the exact same way in college, do you know how to watch film? Manziel just had elite quickness, they both lock on to their top receiver, hold the ball, and rarely played within structure.
2-3 rcvr. He looked left because of the Travis Bias. Travis was there. Instead of reading the defense. And passing based on coverage. You pointed this out very well
OL did terrible in pass protection against the blitz packages BYU ran (Phil Loadholt, Pat Shurmur, Coach Prime). They also did poorly in run blocking against BYU defense. If you block for the run poorly and have to abandon the run, then block for the pass poorly and get housed all night it will likely get ugly. Given the game plan, they were pretty fortunate to score twice.
@@Rick_Sanchez_308 Lol, he's QB2 in the upcoming draft. That o-line was very up and down even though it was much, much better than last year. You put him on Alabama, he wins the Heisman and a National Championship.
@nenevz2948 nobody on earth knows how he'll do in the NFL, not you or me. Being knowledgeable about predicting a Qbs future would make billions if anybody could really do it. Its my opinion, I'm not busting on anyone and sure as hell didn't bust on his team. Hunter is stallion, I'd even bet Shepard will one day be a good NFL WR. A guy that runs the opposite direction when pressure comes his way and takes off one play and runs face first into 2 defenders isn't my cup of tea. Let's come back post 2025 season and see who got it right. It's a toss up, you might win.
To me their offense dropped off when Shadeur was padding their so called heisman's stats. Just look at the Oklahoma state game sacked 7 times trying to look for their so called heisman. Against BYU you could see their so called heisman arguing with Shaduer to throw the ball to him and their so called heisman couldn't even make tackles on defense got his butt ran over numerous times so sad. Shadeur will to good things in the NFL away from their so called hessian. Just saying bro just my observation.
Travis hunter didn’t get ran over once this year casual, also Travis was open multiple times so I can see his anger. Travis had 106 yards and a touchdown on 4 recs and let up no yards this game btw. HE12MAN
It was fun to watch, even though there were a lot of interceptions. BYU's defense was fun to watch. BYU's defense was the main problem for the Colorado offense.
My only thing with CUs qb is he hold the ball too long which is something he can fix he throws a good accurate ball and is clutch when needed so i think he will be fine once hes coached and practices throwing the ball away or check downs...
The play at 7:13, Shedeur thought he so an opening and decided to take off. Since the running game isn't working, some plays have to be running. The play at 8:27 Shedeur felt the pressure and was about to be sacked so he threw the short pass and not the longer pass to Travis although open.
O line had some mistakes, but Shedeur cost them yesterday (CU took the ball away 3 times). Slow on his reads and he panics, he scrambles when there's no pressure, he throws short checkdowns before the play develops. Arm isn't strong so doesn't throw with velocity, which gives defenders more time to break up the pass. He consistantly takes 15 yd sacks. These caused the 4 losses, last name is the only reason he's going 1st rd.
So, you didn't watch any of their games, just the highlights or what you were told. When his offensive line actually is protecting him he has shown multiple times to step up and sling it when needed. A lot of those "throws without velocity" are when he's throwing off his back foot b/c he about to be sacked or already in the grasp. Oh, and there is no running game but I guess he's supposed to fix that problem too.
Some of these I agree with but him getting drafted due to his last name is just hating bruh, because if that was the case then Shilo would get picked in the 1st round.
Simple, RECRUIT POLYNESIANS (Samoans & Tongans) ! That games proved why Polynesians are a must on your football team! But too bad Prime sleeps on westcoast/SoCal recruits!
Sheduer is trying to drop his draft value so he goes to Tom Brady's Raiders instead of the Giants lol All jokes aside this definitely is one of his worst games and at the absolute worst time. This was his "Prime Time" moment and him and the team as a whole fumbled the bag. I never liked the Pat Shurmur pick up as OC. I get that he has NFL experience but there's a reason no NFL team wanted him. His playcalling is suspect. The OC job should've went to someone who has at least a little success in college or the NFL.
It’s crazy how no one wants to acknowledge how many players left before the bowl game - starting players back up role players - special teams players this was the same Colorado team they we witnessed all season - look at the offensive line - two freshmen 3 other linemen that either filling or playing an different position - depth and personnel matter . You can see BYU had their main nucleus of players on all sides . Just stop hating on Deions success - it’s still early at Colorado on second season if they ever get the trenched right in both sides it’s Game over- skills players are not the issue here .
One thing I saw at my alma mater, Syracuse, with Kyle McCord: quick successful throws to Gadsen, Pena and Meeks. However, Syracuse's offensive line, over time, got it together and got their blocking down! At Colorado, with Sanders, Hunter and Horn, the Buffs offensive line didn't!
They seemed to never adjust to maybe mix up the offense scheme 2 TE sets etc. they played stubborn to stick with 4 wide which didn’t work. Next season maybe they consider to mix in more designed runs
I’m going to agree and say using a TE is extremely helpful. It’s actually easier for a defense to lock in on 5 WR. Especially with the game rules protecting the middle of the field. A gadget TE exposes the soft spots and helps with blocking schemes. There are lots of great D line players. All it takes is one to wreck havoc and force a double team. 5 wides can only run a handful of routes in 5 seconds.
the play at 420 looks like they are looking left to pull the safety and throw deep to travis but travis was covered hence the check down pass. i feel colorado was running plays to get certain receivers the ball.
When a defense only has to worry about the pass game the o-line is at a disadvantage all day. You could have a 1st team all american o-line out there and they'd be screwed if the D only had to pass rush.
5:33 I disagree with this one that 92 for BYU blew it up. Shedeur came out of the pocket to the strong side and that led to 92 coming off his blocker. Play was probably designed that way, so it may not necessarily be Shedeur's fault. If Shedeur stayed in the pocket, then there could have been a chance for a TD. Shedeur didn't show much confidence and it's hard to have confidence when the OC calls plays that seem to castrate the strengths of his QB. With the o-line being that bad it's all about playing the short field.
Still gotta catch it. With the placement, you gotta be ready for the hit. You can see all game, Horn was a tad rusty. First game back in awhile due to injury. It happens.
@@kennethch9549Cannot blame him for that even as a BYU fan. Not even time to secure it at all and at his size he had no chance of being in control enough to do anything. Don’t know NFL players who could make that catch even the best have “ drops” like that.
honestly, I have more respect for Sheduer after seeing how he was hung out to dry most of the game. When things were blocked well and a receiver had any room, he made the play.
Some one got a big bag on offense you can see that the games was bought just look at all the busted playes, and the odds won big,,willing to bet offensive coordinator was going with the odds the bag for this game was bigger than the trophy 100, MAYGODBLESS
Shedeur is being coached like this, bad, he’s told to let the receivers break the thing is the line doesn’t hold up long so he gets sacked, I coach HS for 30 years and see it. Tom Brady talked to him last and told him get rid of the ball on short steps quickly, he still holds on to it, he will be better coached in the NFL and have a experience OC, he’ll be fine.
You have to be able to run in order to establish a passing game. The absence of a running game was a major issue this year. Plus...Sheduer gives me Caleb Williams vibes...he holds the football to long and takes hugh sacks. Also, he is very slow.
He likes drifts in the pocket all the time too, it fucked with his mechanics leading to sporadic throws (especially deep passes). He hesitates and processes slow like bro just throw the ball. I also don’t agree with theses analysts about how he “always hits his receivers in stride”, I’m glad u brought up the fact that when he hits the end of his drop especially in less heavy sets he doesn’t have the ball out of his hand. His o line isn’t the greatest but he needs to stop bailing so early, plus his arm strength/talent is just below average. I’m tired of people naming him the number 1 Q in this draft when it’s simply ridiculous.
When edge rushers bend around your tackle step up don’t drift it just leads to messing up your whole throwing motion by not keeping your feet under you and when that happens your arm follows. I can see if you get hit with a stunt or an interior rusher gets through right away but that’s not the issue. In the nicest way possible there are some HS players with better pocket presence and awareness than him. Almost half of those sacks are on him anyways, the media got to u.
Colorado didn't "struggle" against BYU, they were completely destroyed. BYU's coach could have easily ran up the score into the 50s, but put BYU 2nd string into the game during most of the 4th quarter.
Once Colorado got behind two td's Shedeur should have been pulled out. Too late now.

at 5:48 where the BYU linebacker blows by the left guard , that was an amazing defensive play!
Well said....and all the while they raking in that NIL money
Critiquing Sanders always draws emotional reactions.
As a Qb coach, I could care less what the kid’s name is…what the tape show is what matters.
Of course, analytics matters as well
Sanders did not face a pass defense in the top 40 all season long. BYU was the first, they are ranked 24th in that category in passing yards allowed.
Sanders has 3 WRs potentially that will be playing on Sunday.
Sheppard
Horn
And the best Player in the country Hunter
BYU doesn’t have a single DB NFL bound, nor did CU play any NFL bound DB that is projected to be in this upcoming draft all season long.
Last I checked, he is participating in the East West Shrine Bowl. I agree with your take and appreciate the share
@@ToussaintProductions I agree Ward will be first pick. I also agree Sanders needs to sit for a season indeed. Senior Bowl is by invitation yes, daddy said they are accepting the EW shrine instead.
They lost because they thought they already won before they left to the game
You cant blame the OC, deion is at fault here. Hes ran the exact same offense since back at jackson state.......even back 2 high school. Not 2 mention he doesn't ever run the ball and stick 2 running the ball. ( then we can also discuss flea needed fired last year, so did hart. They still both need fired). Shedeur checks 2 many calls at line, slow reads, refuses to get ball out of his hands, arm strength has always lacked. A lot of it boils down 2 pure coaching tho. O line gets dogged for teams easily able 2 predict colorado.
Just wait until next season when he can't bribe the qb to keep playing/taking sacks.

Recruiting misses? They need more size on the OL and DL.. they’ve done the best they can without any money
The OL is fine. Sheduer is expert at making an offensive line look bad.

WHAT WE DON'T KNOW
We don't know if (OC Shurmur) was just calling plays to pad Shedeur stats and make him happy VS having terrible running backs and a really bad run blocking OL. In games where CU made an a decent effort to run the ball, the RB's were not world beaters, but they ran well enough to take pressure of of Shedeur.
PROS:
1. Deion is GREAT at promoting and getting media exposure.
2. DEION has a done a VERY GOOD JOB at getting better players through the portal and some out of HS.
CONS:
@@MauricePerrykingdom_author Thanks for correcting me on Deion's Bowl record. So it is actually worse than I thought.

It’s literally the OC plays bro wtf is u talking about 😂
BYU outcoached, outplayed and completely overmatched CU in pretty much every facet of the game.
Nice work Sanjit!!
Colorado. Overrated. Over-hyped. Completely dominated. Hunter is very good, but didn’t deserve the Heisman over Ashton Jeanty. The only reason he won is because of the media’s fixation with “Coach Prime.”
And BYU kicked booty all night long.
Lmao he got the worse o line in football almost 😂😂😂😂😂 put any other qb behind him it amnd watch

The problem with CU’s offense is Pat Shurmur. Period.
The rabbit hole gets deeper once you start digging. lol

In the NFL, 4 rushers on 5 OL is a winning situation for the OL unless they are blocking for too long and even then, that's money. Even the worst pass-blocking teams can function in a 4 man pass rush.
If he’s a top pick there’s a good chance their OL is bad.

You looking in the mirror again.
OR BYU has some Dawgs on D. Yeah they do have been balling all year. They were outplayed and outcoached
Nope! They had 2 RB and 1 left. The Problem is Deion..
Holding the ball too long has been a bad habit for Sheduer since highschool and he still hasn't fixed that part of his game.
Tape definitely doesn’t lie. Is this a tape on Sanders ? Or BYU’s #92 ? Breakdown his play. My word. Please put him opposite of Maxx Crosby
The Buffs is a solid team. Just that BYU has one of the best defenses, especially in the passing game. BYU won most of their games because of their defense.
Meh they're average I think they'd be a 6 or 7 win team in any other p4 conference
@@smokiej579holy just be quiet bro… admit that they are good and accept the fact that they would be just as good in other conferences
@JaxRelaxGames I can't admit that, when the FBS opponents that they beat had a combined losing record
@@smokiej579 they are a good team
100 percent. Sheduer is very good, but the offense will look better with a different qb
Facts!!
@ThreadAndCircuses1 they are totally different QBs.
Amazing video. I am a fan.
The next Colt Mccoy
Sanders is going to end up going round 3
@@Rick_Sanchez_308 Lol, he's QB2 in the upcoming draft. That o-line was very up and down even though it was much, much better than last year. You put him on Alabama, he wins the Heisman and a National Championship.
If you just want to bust on him or Colorado, fine, you do you. If you are serious, well, I hope you are knowledgeable about something in this life
@nenevz2948 nobody on earth knows how he'll do in the NFL, not you or me.
@@Rick_Sanchez_308 You wish. What community college you play for?
Your video is amazing, ive been saying the same thing all season, these plays are senseless and stupid. Why are they alway trying to do deep passes.
My only thing with CUs qb is he hold the ball too long which is something he can fix he throws a good accurate ball and is clutch when needed so i think he will be fine once hes coached and practices throwing the ball away or check downs...
Different outcome with respectable solid run game threat! The lack thereof causes offense vulnerability
Why does his dad always have to be brought up???? Your take was good until you show your hate…. Let me guess Jeanty should of won the heisman too huh
Some of these I agree with but him getting drafted due to his last name is just hating bruh, because if that was the case then Shilo would get picked in the 1st round.
You told nothing but unbiased unpopular truth.
How can you put anything on Sheduer when u can clearly see he has no time to make throws
Simple, RECRUIT POLYNESIANS (Samoans & Tongans) ! That games proved why Polynesians are a must on your football team! But too bad Prime sleeps on westcoast/SoCal recruits!
Yup he only recruits low level southern recruits. He refuses to recruit Cali recruits
Why doesn’t CO run RB screen plays
Slow Rb
Exactly.. no TE play and no use of the RB in the pass … so the offense is predictable .
They ran the same plays they did In the regular season. They were so predictable.
It almost seemed like he didn’t want Travis to shine. He should’ve had Atleast 20 attempts EASY !! 🤦🏽♂️ u could see the emotion in Travis
They don’t have 1😂😂😂😂 that’s the problem
the play at 420 looks like they are looking left to pull the safety and throw deep to travis but travis was covered hence the check down pass. i feel colorado was running plays to get certain receivers the ball.
Your Right The Offensives Line is Terrible, Lousy Play Calling, The Offensive Coordinator Has Got To Go!! He's No Good!!
Good analysis. Criticism on Horn is off in my opinion. That was a massive hit at point of catch. He’ll be feeling that one for a while. 7:42
Still gotta catch it. With the placement, you gotta be ready for the hit. You can see all game, Horn was a tad rusty. First game back in awhile due to injury. It happens.
And the throw was late
@@kennethch9549Cannot blame him for that even as a BYU fan. Not even time to secure it at all and at his size he had no chance of being in control enough to do anything. Don’t know NFL players who could make that catch even the best have “ drops” like that.
honestly, I have more respect for Sheduer after seeing how he was hung out to dry most of the game. When things were blocked well and a receiver had any room, he made the play.
Cmon man...give it up
Thanks for your thoughts, person who is totally not Dave Pasch.
Some one got a big bag on offense you can see that the games was bought just look at all the busted playes, and the odds won big,,willing to bet offensive coordinator was going with the odds the bag for this game was bigger than the trophy 100, MAYGODBLESS
Just curious when you say this type of offense wht exactly do you mean?
And look at his numbers with the defense knowing he passing everyone
Lmao why you think he do that mf his o line is terrible wtf he got sack over 50 times last year and over 40 this year
When edge rushers bend around your tackle step up don’t drift it just leads to messing up your whole throwing motion by not keeping your feet under you and when that happens your arm follows. I can see if you get hit with a stunt or an interior rusher gets through right away but that’s not the issue. In the nicest way possible there are some HS players with better pocket presence and awareness than him. Almost half of those sacks are on him anyways, the media got to u.
