  • I brought a whole crew of detectorists with me from the west coast of Florida. The water was rough, but we still managed to pull out some keepers!!

      Thanks bro!!! Even though we didn’t find too much, we always have a great time together!! I’d include the video from our lunchtime shenanigans, but I’d probably get my account banned from TH-cam 😆

    -20 the other night, blizzard yesterday and this morning it's balmy 5 out right now. So thank you for making these cool videos! If I could find a battery operated jackhammer that fits in a backpack I'd be on the beach right now!

    When you are hunting dry sand do you like a big coil or a small coil, thanks buddy, Fireman Jim

    • @DetectFlorida
      @DetectFlorida  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm in between. I like a medium sized coil. I run the 11" coil on my Manticore and Deus 2. I like a small coil when I'm hunting properties that are loaded with targets

      @@DetectFlorida wanted to thank you for always responding back to me, I am a 100 percent disabled veteran, I just started metal detecting about six months ago, your videos have been a great help, I have been very lucky detecting, got 9 rings so far and some nice jewelry, got one really nice relic from the 1715 fleet, Amy and Jon have also been a great help, Soflo treasure hunters, Digging it Detectors have really hooked me up with 2 machines and setting them up for me, Thank you Shawn, love this new hobby and people like you have even made it better, you all are the best, thanks buddy, Fireman Jim

    Fun day. What do you do with “less than valuable” jewelry you find?

    • @DetectFlorida
      @DetectFlorida  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was! It depends on its condition. I keep all rings regardless of their worth and have ring display boxes that hold around 100 in each one. Most of the other "less than valuable" jewelry items in good condition go into a box or in displays

    What do you think of the new XP Deus 2? Are you going to stick with the Excalibur 2 or get the XP Deus 2?

    • @DetectFlorida
      @DetectFlorida  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m waiting to get my hands on one. I’m excited to see how it compares. I won’t sell my excals any time soon, but the deus can be a real game changer if it’s an all around good performer on land and saltwater

      @@DetectFlorida Have you watched any of Calabash Digger's videos using the XP Deus 2? It's very impressive and looks to have an edge over the NOX in every way. I swing a CTX with a 17" coil and I've found deep gold and very small targets. I would rally like to see my setup against the XP Deus 2 and see which one is king at the beach. I'm a big coil hunter and I would pull the trigger on a XP Deus 2 right now if they offered a big coil.

      @@HailNjord I haven’t watched any videos on the machine yet. I’m mainly interested in it’s underwater capabilities in saltwater

      @@DetectFlorida while it doesn't have the 200 feet depth of the Excalibur for hardcore scuba diving. At 60 feet max depth that will be perfect for hookah diving and the bone conduction headphones are a huge leap forward. As I'm sure you've experienced using the Nemo it's a bit loud underwater and the Excalibur isn't anywhere as loud below water as it is above. Speaking of the Nemo have you ever had any issue with life guards telling you scuba diving isn't allowed at their beach? I've used mine a few times at Clearwater with no issues. I even returned a key attached to a lifeguard whistle I found out there while using the Nemo. But, I have been pulled from the water at another beach. Claiming they didn't want the liability if something happened and I was outside of there view underwater.

      @@HailNjord I don’t usually dive at public beaches for that reason. I’ve spoken to a couple of lifeguards at one of my regular beaches, and they had no issue with it

    The multitude of pennies are usually scattered over the beach by certain witty individuals who are always a pain.... They're just having a good time messing around with the detectors who are trying to find something of value....
