Thank you for taking the time to do it. Chesterton, as you have helped me discover, is amazing

Excellent voice, richly written. I started with CSLewis which led to Tolkien then Chesterton. Returning to GOD, blessed, grateful. Thankyou!

I was also indoctrinated into the Statist Cult of Materialism with the Dawkins and Hitchens fan boys. Ironically it was the science they proselytize that led me to question materialism, (the universal simulation theory for one example) which is tantamount to heresy among A+ types. So I rediscovered apologetics and Lewis who lead me back to Tolkien, who lead me here! God bless!

It seems feathers of a flock.. or whatever. Also a former atheist. Not sure where I am now but certainly not a materialist. I only wish that when authority figures of my childhood confronted me about the evils of materialism they knew to recommend reactionary writers and thinkers rather than simply proscribing materialism.
The truth is rich and complicated.

@@FauxtakuLounge The process of arriving at these conclusions is far more speedy with ancestors who lived, suffered and many died under the evils of state-imposed materialism, both of the German and the Soviet kind. I can tell you for sure that this is true (Fr Fehlner /1931-2018/ resembling Tolkien's Gandalf surely purely coincidental :) ) th-cam.com/video/EG3ohELIFpc/w-d-xo.html Also, if you can get your hands on a copy of the late prof. Rupert J. Ederer's "Economics as if God Matters", you'd see the practical aspects of the difference.

Lunatic worship of a false "god" you ever see how many Genocides were Sparked by Christians?
ALL OF THEM. Worship a Jew-boy who was Murdered, then his body was Eaten by his A-posales, and His Blood was Drunken. Good luck worshipping a Cannibal Vampire Death Cult.

I was also lost in the cult of "self" and materialism... considered myself an atheist or agnostic, so many things I called myself, but none of it made anything clearer to me...I was lost but was always searching for truth...now I am trying to come back home to my faith which I always had, but the path to righteousness and the greater good is not an easy one.

Really soulless and ugly world it is innit, that breeds school shooters, hikkikomoris, political extremists, cultists...
Only the truth of the Church's claim will remain

This reader, I have enjoyed immensely in several books. His slight slip in Chapter 3 calling Casuists Causists is quite understandable as he may have thought it a typo. Thus, with no disrespect, but only for the sake of clarity I include here the definition of a Casuist....
    cas·u·ist
a person who uses clever but unsound reasoning, especially in relation to moral questions; a sophist.
a person who resolves moral problems by the application of theoretical rules to particular instances.
    Keep up the good work!

Amazing, 100 years ago Chesterton calls out today's trans movement and its dangerous medical interventions. That's why Chesterton is the GOAT.

The indispensable mind is worthless without compassion, humanity or even faith. Otherwise justice is sterile, heartless and cruelty and that isn't justice at all...
