Loving all the Android 13 changes so far. It's like a more stable release of the massive system and design overhaul we got with Android 12 but with extra functionality and extended features.

I never comment on videos but I just want to show my appreciation for how detailed your work is. I can't imagine how effort it is to keep track of all these changes (which I don't think Google publish), including and especially minor ones, across every aspect of what I imagine is hundreds of screens across tens of apps and several devices.
If you multiply all that I reckon you could say you have to keep up with thousands of individual UI/system functionality that may or may not change week to week. And the presentation is always improving, the videos are regular and timely and you actually engage with comments.
A behind the scenes video would be fascinating, but equally, keep doing what you're doing!

Just to add a very tiny bit 👌
1:02 also when you press each individual number instead of getting that circle animation like Android 12 , you actually get a squircle animation on Android 13. Tho it looks like hitting enter on the keypad already had the squircle animation so they just caught the rest of the keypad up I suppose

The one thing Android has to do is figure out a way to allow the user to determine what apps have "sensitive notifications" and which are not. Currently iOS allows the user to decide per-app which notification on the lock screen will be shown in full without needing face-id/unlock. Android does not have this and depends on the developer to flag their notifications as sensitive or not. It makes no sense, as currently some apps will expand on the notification screen not needing my to unlock the device to see them and some won't. Also, android needs to have the option to STAY ON LOCK SCREEN after fingerprint has been entered, instead of opening the phone to the home screen. What is the point of having truncated/sensitive notifications on the lock screen if the only way to view them in full is to open the phone then pull down the notification shade? You may as well just have icons as the actual notification text is meaningless as you cant read it unless you open the phone. For goodness sake. So as an example, i get a telegram notification. I pick up the phone and the lock screen shows me "Telegram..." with a small arrow to expand the notification to read the message. I tap on the notification, it brings up the fingerprint icon, I enter the fingerprint and it opens the phone to the home page. Then I either have to open the telegram app, or pull down the shade to see the notification detail. Just let the USER decide which apps/notification are ok to show on the lock screen without having to open the phone.

Just applied ota update and it was around 800MB and post install it was hot and pixel camera exposure and other things were disabled due to device becoming too hot in 8.6. I used adb and ran bg-dexopt-job since charging was getting very slow and CPU was on full tilt. After running the CMD the device cooled down and battery charge speed resumed to 18w on pixel 4a. Android 13 is very smoother than 12L and i was surprised if it was running at 90Hz. I also enabled predictive back animation in developer option and also saw new option for mocking modem and Bluetooth specially for 6 series.

My last phone was P2XL running Android 11, and now I have P7P running Android 13 QPR Beta 3. I had not followed Android development closely in between. Trying to find out everything that changed. Looks like I have to first see 11->12 and then 12->13.

Your video is very detailed and good.. I just can't see any Android 13 changes that I care about.

I used the bootloader to install Android 13 into my pixel 5a and started working fine but then I tried to transfer my data from my pixel 5 to my 5a.... It didn't transfer my text messages. So I would factory reset it again and again. Then I copied data from a back up from pixel 5 and it uploaded my text message but names wouldn't show in certain numbers and messages were out of place from personal and business. I wonder if this is still a beta version cuz this version already glitchy. Went back to my Pixel 5 on Android 11. Seems like I still can't trust Google's new software just yet. 😒

Under sound and vibration, I don't have a slider to adjust the haptic strength. Is it available for only pixel 6 series ?

Hi I would like to ask you a question, do you feel like Google has cheated it's customers with the pixel 6 release. I got one from launch and the amount of things they promised and have since not really delivered in a working state anyway, I kind of feel cheated. Even to this day while they are touting the pixel 6a my phone has so many bugs and features that simply don't work properly in any configuration. It just hurts to see them in my opinion brush the 6 which was supposed to be they're flagship under the carpet. I simply can't believe they have the audacity to release a new phone and call it the best thing since sliced bread the same way they did with me with the 6 release. As much as the phone does most basic things correctly I can't help but feel cheated and lied to. It's the same story with the wear os platform, I have been using wear os watches since its first release on the Huawei device before there was even a version number and was called Google wear. I now sport a fossil gen 6 which of course I'm still waiting for an upgrade to wear os 3. I bought this device because it was on the list of devices eligible for upgrade to the new platform that's nearly 2 years, still waiting. With all the bugs under the sun. All these things combined make me feel like this should be illegal at the very least but this is Google we are talking about and people will still champion them like some Stockholm syndrome victim. Really would like your opinion on this if you do have one. Many thanks, Abhijit
