I am glad that you are confident in your writing process. I would say that before getting into your process, timetable for sharing/publication, or future channel content, one would probably open with your immediate publication goal right on the tail of your name, and format the entire introduction from there. It is likely that this video is the first time many people are seeing you, and they have no frame of reference. Ideally this introduction would have also kept those viewers in mind.
30 takes of this you could of written 12k words. in 5 minutes you said absolutely nothing about your story by the way. unless i missed it somehow. This would be better with a blurb or a first page or something.
I'm all for clarity of message and knowing what exactly what the message is before you roll camera, but you have taken critique to a whole new barely constructive level. Was your objective to invalidate the existence of this video? Congrats on sounding judgmental rather than evaluating the (expectedly shaky) quality of what is clearly a channel relaunch.
@ it’s meant to be constructive. my critique is a request for him to fulfill what he stated he would, because I want to know what the story is about. I like the personality and watched the whole video but there’s nothing about the writing. For an upcoming author to pull of what he’s trying to do, he either needs to tease the story, or build a platform that brings in interested people. But simply saying “I plan to write something in the future” over a 5 minute video doesn’t do either My goal is to give him a few pointers from an objective perspective. I can see what he is trying to do here but it’s not clicking yet (with people other than relatives)
