I was in Anchorage during the earthquake with my dad and mom and younger brother. My mom told me that we were at a JCPenney store and my younger brother became very cranky so we went home and then the quake hit hard. We all survived and we thank God for that.

That’s the best coverage I have seen yet of the quake. I thank God the quake happened before the Four Seasons Building opened, that builder should have his license removed permanent. The Westward Hotel is still standing and twice the height and doing just fine. What a tragedy in Chenega Village, 2/3rds the people washed away or killed, no homes left, and far from any help because of remoteness. We slept in the car for about 4 days, used snow for water.

They didn't know about earthquake proof building. Check out the Long Beach earthquake of 1933. That one was only magnitude 6.3, but caused just as much damage.

I was at Ft Rich when the earth quake hit. The JC Penny's store was damaged and the siding fell on top of a person in his car and was killed. Quake seemed to last forever. Not much damage on Ft Rich.

The same at Elemendorf ,I was driven down 4th Ave, and stopped about 50 ft from where the street collapsed. I watched it all happen.

How wonderful, to see and hear Americans helping each other.
If this happened today, there would be the perverse evil that looks to loot, steal, burn, and murder, as society has sold it's soul to Satan.
I love these older documentaries, as they show what America USED to be like, and the great attitudes of Americans. I wish we were still that way. But, alas, never to be seen again. God bless all those people who helped and volunteered in the 1964 Alaskan quake!

There would be a few that looted. But when everyone is hit, just the opposite happens, everyone starts giving things away, they work to help each other. My dad didn’t come home for three days because he was helping people in Turnagain subdivision. I was in 3rd grade and even I thought how remarkable and supportive everyone was. I even got scolded in a store once saying the earthquake was one of the best things that probably ever happen here. They just didn’t understand.

Yes it is sad that in our times many would take advantage, however let us be comforted in this there are those in our times that are in Christ and we know what to do in such a situation and when we do it we set an example to others those who don't know Christ but by their own conscience do what is right in such circumstances,😃 Jesus loves you.

I was just a little kid. I didn't know what was happening the car was bouncing up off all 4 tires. I was on the stairs when it first started. Very hard to go down while it moved up.
Btw that wave they show is a shockwave from a thermonuclear blast.
Lots of this show is bullshit.

This earth quake happened 30 days to the day before I was born, 4-27-64, down the ocean from where it happened. In Long Beach/Harbor City California I was born the last of 4, John, just 5 months after they successfully exterminated a man who was enroute to remove both the CIA and fed reserve. His brother was exterminated at the The Embassador Hotel in Los Angels in 68. These brothers spent much time with Dywight D. Eisenhower talking about his warnings about this military dragon at work to keep humanity fighting itself to exhaust its life efforts in war and not brotherhood in God and Gods true Son, not the religious one, The Real One. My father was called in 1972 by the State of Alaska to work/help in Juvenile Corrections as he was one of a few men who had brought great success in in the same in the early 60's in California. It was just 3 years after he was divorced buy our mother in 1969. He invited me into Mcglauline in Anchorage in 95 for a Father Son tour that summer. He passed away 4 years later. There is much much more to this story, yet it's still being written in the lives of The Baby Boomers who will crush the head of the dragon who interested itself only in killing, stealing and destroying all things beautiful, Holy, and perfect. It knows its place for eternity is fixed. It wants to occupy anything it lost in The Great Rebellion. This is merely one story of a family destroyed by this dragon. The final pages are being written with the blood and tears in the lives of those that love God, The Nations, which includes all nations, tribes, tongues and peoples. This endeavor was planned before Nov. 22nd 63. The 64 Flood in The Northwestern states is part of this story. Not the Crescent City Tsunami later the day on 3-27-1964, but the flood during that year, Dec.18th. If man will not heed the warnings, God always continues until much destruction must come. He will always preserve His cherished family, those that come to Him through the Bridges He Alone has, can, and only can build. He Will Have a family, as crazy as it seems, and as blinded as humanity REALLY is, His LOVE IS GREATER THAN THE GREATEST FATHER ANY PERSON CAN IMAGINE............ EVER! Suffering is the only way we learn obedience, ONLY. John from Noblesville.
