I am impressed with how well you welded in the patch. I think the others gave some good ideas. Down here for hail damage they heat the metal and put dry ice in the center of the dent. It is not alot of heat since it does not hurt the paint. Good video.
Thank you! I was hoping to get lucky with heat/cooling, but it didn't work. I can't even tell you how bummed I was after I got out of tunnel vision mode and saw the warp/dent though... Oh well, more filler practice I guess.
Thanks Bob! Just trying to make it a nice work truck. There will be no shortage of using it as a truck, but with shop logos/name on it I want to try and make it as nice as I can.
I’m sure there’s body guys gonna comment but I use nails to tack on and kinda slide hammer out with the claw. With dents you have to work the outside to the middle or it’ll just pop back in. I have zero patience too but it’s the easiest for me
I'll keep that in mind moving forward for sure! This is kind of a learning process for me. I've done some body work and patches but never cared enough on other projects to make it nice. Time to push myself and learn along the way.
It still looks better than a door full of holes lol. Don't be so hard on yourself. Body guys have a lot more tools to work with so give yourself a break
Thanks Tim! Just living and learning and making it up as I go. I know just enough to get myself into trouble, but I still enjoy it, even when I think I hate it... Thanks for the support!

Use wet rag to cool. . Cover windows , so you don't get any weld splatter or grinding splatter
Good call on the windows! Rag too. This will be a rough learn as you go process. Know enough to get myself in trouble sort of deal. Thanks!
Put a flat football in there, then air it up, or any other small boll
Not a bad idea!
That patched turned out ok, remember it's a work truck, bondo, paint, success.

Still doing better than me. I wouldn't even attempted it!! Great stuff!!
Thanks TBONE! This will definitely be a learning process.
I like the magnet trick. Didn't turn out so bad. Pretty good for a first timer. I know I couldn't do that well.
Thanks! It's a learning process for sure. I'll mess up a ton more I'm sure, but in the end it "should" look pretty good!
Brave no face shield
Probably should have put something on.
