These Beoing Jetfoils are amazing. They're like the Ferrari Concorde's of the sea. I've travelled between HK to Macau and Busan to Japan a number of times. The exhilarating when you hear those 2 gas turbine engines wind up and feel the raw power of the water jets while accelerating is quite something. The ride is rock solid smooth even in moderately rough seas. They're 50+ years old now I think.
Эту калошу ещё в советские времена выпускали,не помню то ли комета,то ли ракета называлась на подводных крыльях.скорей всего с неё и содрали,сам с родителями на ней плавал с лазаревского в Сочи и обратно.
Эта калоша имеет другой тип крыльев и они тут с изменяемым улом. Комета имела V образный профиль крыла , что было просто , но требовало гораздо больше мощности и топлива.
One of my friends told me, on their first sea trial everyone of them only once developed a crack on its main bulkhead (fwd / aft?). Despite redesigns to prevent it, a crack would appear on that first trip. All they could do was weld it, grind it and repaint it and it never reappeared.
@@TairnKA I worked on jetfoil one it was on the front strut the the strut was taken off to make even stronger. Boat one was in Sea trials for a year before it was delivered to the customer in Hawaii
@@johnpaulmierz6978 Thank-you for the clarification. Oops, I just realized my friends story was about cracks on the converted patrol hydrofoil, not the civilian. Though, it still could have been the strut you mentioned?

@@harleycharlie4753 what do you want to know it had two Allison turbofan engines that turned the intake shaft to the top of the gearbox that was made by Rockwell International turned at 20000 RPM at one end and came out at 2150 on the output that turned a Rocketdyne water pump between the two pumps what does 50000 gallons of water in one minute it is the water suction that propelled the boat forward not the water jets coming out of the back the boat it will come up on the foils at 18 knots what cruise close to 55 knots the boat weighs 100 tons upon the foils the boat only had a 5000 pound water drag up on the foils engineering on these boats are 50 years old s still years ahead of their time
