Danya is an absolute monster at bullet. Hard to understand why it doesn’t translate to longer time formats, is it about longer term thinking, calculation and evaluation? I mean he smashed one of the best players on the planet right there!

Classical chess is about coming up with deep and complex ideas and strategies. Speed chess is about not blundering tactics in time scramble. For chess enthusiasts who treat the game as an art, they prefer classical. For most casual fans speed chess is more thrilling.

the tricks in bullet work because the players don't have enough time to figure them out.

It's nice to see them all having a good time together. And over the board bullet is wild, I'm not even going to pretend that I can follow it. It's absolutely mind-blowing that people are capable of this!

With 1 second increment, Fabi has a pretty good shot. No increment I’m kinda doubtful.

Respectfully, even though hes one of the best bullet players in the world, that doesnt necessarily translate to otb. Take Andrew Tang for example who is (one of) the best hyper bullet players in the world and sits at ~2500 in classical. Classical and Blitz require rather different qualities, even 3+0 and 3+2 can be quite different at times. There is various interviews of Danya talking about taking a gap year prior to college to play chess and struggling with the stress and metal pressure playing chess full time puts on you, that alone might just be enough to put him out of top 30. At the end of the day there is no way of knowing, but being very strong at Blitz doesnt automatically make you a top 30 contender in classical.

There's such a stark contrast between how Nemo presents herself on social media vs how she seems in person. Social media = bad bitch, IRL = sweet, nice girl, but I suspect she's not as innocent and nice as she seems, what with the whole giving her boyfriend the supposedly random prize.
