Every great story has an antagonist and Tommy was IT. Frankie was the one with a deep sense of loyalty and commitment. In the end it all paid off. He's a living legend.:o)
Tonithenightowl I disagree. His loyalty and commitment was misplaced and came at the expense of others who deserved and needed his loyalty and commitment more than Tommy did.(he never demonstrated that kinds of loyalty and commitment to anyone else in his life, not in the band and especially not of the female variety.) I think Tommy and frankie was a classic textbook case of a codependant relationship. Very unhealthy.
Loved this cast and this movie! Don't care what people say, Clint Eastwood was right to put the parts in the hands of those three experienced musical veterans. And Vincent Piazza as Tommy DeVito was spectacular!
If anybody thinks hiring broadway performers who have performed the roles to be in a film of that performance is a mistake they're idiots and have no appreciation of proper plays and musicals. An obvious notation of this is the difference between the quality of Rock of Ages on Broadway vs. Film that movie was utter garbage
@@cannsmith I know this comment was four years ago but I think it's cool that they were hired to play these characters. If their really experienced and have the talent to deliver a performance like they did then there's nothing wrong with that. I think Clint hired them because he knew they were right for the part and saw they had more potential. I couldn't imagine anyone else playing those parts or telling the story any better. Just my opinion.
I agree with you, too much on the media the tabloids were commenting on this movie. I didn't see the movie but I do have the DVD and I saw it and I know what you're talkin about it.
I know people get pissed that most of these actors aren’t famous, but coming from broadway fandom, these actors knew what they were doing, because they did it 8 times a week! Especially John. He won the tony
*****I couldn't disagree with you more. People who gamble away money aren't looking into the future. They are looking for immediate gratification through their addictive behavior.
I loved growing up with the beautiful and wonderful music it made you feel happy and free . You knew all the words of all the songs. I count my self very lucky it was a wonderful time to be a teenager. Thanks guys and thanks to the wonderful movie made by Clint Eastwood.. Jersey Boys. You did a fantastic job I love the movie so much Your singing was just like them, it brought tears to my eyes I am 67. You made me feel 16 again.
Wendy Denning Loved the movie!!!! It was so good. I adore all the guys and it would be amazing if the four of them go on tour together:) I would be the first one there lol:):)
I have seen the movie 2 times. Fantastic. Going back for a third time John Lloyd Young was just awsome!. Going to get his music. Great voice. Great job guys! Thank you Mr Clint Eastwood for making a great movie for all to see!
I knew the Four Seasons from the beginning. Frankie lived in Steven Crane Village in Newark and I live in Silver LAKE IN BELLEVILE, NEW JERSEY. I use to hang around with his brother Robert Casteluchio. Frankie would come and go wild I was their at his house. My aunt and uncle also live in the same village. Frankie and the Boys became my all time Rock and Roll band
What an amazing production. I have watched this movie at least a dozen times. I have the CD that I listen to every time I get into the car. It takes me back to the days of growing up.. I just adore the Jersey boys! Thank you!
2:42 - "...and where did they find you?" Heee! His answer! I love Vincent Piazza's sense of humor. I love, also, his talent. I bought him completely as Tommy DeVito. The character is a jerk, and the movie makes no bones about that. But he's also easy to like. You root for him. You want him to somehow grow up and make good. It takes some talent for an actor to make that happen - to get the audience to see one thing and feel another. Good show, Piazza.
Such a fun movie; I need to see it again because like all Clint Eastwood Movies he sneaks up on you with the detail, then need to recall from the beginning. Loved it, songs, and loved the color tones and feeling of the times.
I was either 17 when I saw this movie and I went with my parents, brother and grandparents to see it. And it was a phenomenal film and it's a story that should be shared generations to come. It's still one of my favorites even though I've never seen the broadway musical hit.
I like the way they give credit to each other, very generous at recognizing that for three of them bringing their experience from the stage musical not necessarily would be advantageous, to somehow simplify their entering the movie world, on the contrary, would require them to adapt. Film veteran Piazza had to do his own incorporation to a story that had only been told in the theater. They combined to make a great motion picture, wise casting decision by Eastwood and company.
Awesome to find out how these guys got involved as wasn't widely publicised (if you had limited knowledge of their prior involvement). Loved the show, love the movie, love the story.
I just like to thank the original Jersey boys who did the origional stage performance first then the movie, and I didn't see the stage performance at all. But the movie was fantastic, and like to to say is thank you again for doing this for the original Frankie Valli and the Four Season's lives, for starting of their marvelous career of their lives, but do have it on the DVD.
Like I said before I saw the play in New York a few years ago. I thought the movie was great but nothing beats the live music you get to hear. And nothing beats the real guy!
Best interview ! Great questions and These guys were very organic and added a visual element and gave great clarity to their responses . They really have an outstanding dynamic and very grounded just loved everything about this interview ... Thank You so much love this entertaining quartet of outstanding actors !
Ummm, um, um, that John Lloyd Young is so cute. The Jersey Boys are so very talented. They do deserve to have beautiful wives, families, and lives. I wish I was still sixteen years young!
Okay, the movie opens in 3 days. I have read reviews both positive and negative. The positive ones seem to be about the film and the negative ones seem to be about Clint. From the clips I saw of the movie, and the few behind the scenes clips about how things were made, I see no negatives. Which means, we should be free to appreciate the story and the music. Got a feeling this is going to be monumental. Get back to you in 3 days:).
The effect is that the legs are signifying it is a closed circle they are in. Like the four of them together are a solid unit for real. Legs that are crossed toward the outside of a group signify dissent.
Okay, 3 days later. All the Seasons were excellent acting and singing, with Vincent Piazza standing out. But... The movie was NOTHING like the show, as far as energy and exuberance go. Here's the equation: We know about and care about the Four Seasons mostly because of the music. The less the music has an impact on us; the less involved we are with the individual stories of the guys. I've had my ups and downs too, as we all have. (Even known a few mobsters back in Jersey.) But the reason there isn't a movie about me or mostly all the rest of us is because we didn't have 40 SOLID GOLD HITS!!!! It's the MUSIC, yo. How hard could that be to have missed?! Thank God the play is still running. Catch it if you can.
Ok well done on missing the point of the movie. It's the individuals that influence the music...their personal stories come through the music. I wasn't around for the Four Seasons however having seen the film it was a fascinating watch.
Clint Eastwood is just an amazing director and producer. He has made numerous movies and he can't be bought by the liberals in Hollywood... He is also an amazing actor, especially the DIRTY HARRY MOVIES !!! It definitely showed in the movie Jersey Boys..... I have watched the movie at least 7 times or more.... what a movie ....
Funny how the oldest members of The Four Seasons is actually the youngest cast in the movie :) but i love to steal John's recipe to stay young..he looks waaay younger than his age^^ so cute..i think i got a crush on him :)
I think Vincent Piazza has a bright future in film, he has a depth about him. I dont agree with the casting of Eric Bergen for the Bob Gaudio role, not a good choice just my opinion.
The performance of these guys is good though not resemble the originals. The four season were low and dark, except Bob Gaudio (very high) Frankie measured 1.65 meters, 1.68 meters measured Tommy and Nick measured 1.70 meters. Besides the originals were quite elderly: Tommy: 35 years, Frankie: 28 years and Nick was 34 years old. Original seasons Mediterranean appearance had instead these actors are of a Nordic type.
No offense, but I think these guys were picked based on talent. Age, height , and appearance didn't matter to Eastwood. The original four are of Italian descent. I was lucky enough to see the original four in concert and the experience was more than dynamite.
lobo estepario chilensis Lol. I don't know what kind of crack you're smoking that you think 28 - 35 is "elderly," but all of these actors are in their 30s except Erich Bergen (and Bob was the baby of the group, so that fits). As for their ethnic backgrounds, John Lloyd Young and Vincent Piazza are of Italian descent.
lobo estepario chilensis You're the one writing nonsense, buddy. You said that Frankie Valli was "elderly" at the age of 28. That's just crazy talk. I really don't know what point you're trying to make regarding their ages since this film spans a period of 30+ years, and thus the actors are playing the guys at various ages.
Misunderstood. Both Tommy and Nick Frankie years were removed. Frankie in 1962 was actually 28 years (born in 1934), Tommy was 34 years (born in 1928) and Nick was 35 years (born in 1927). They were not boys, were mature men. They were Latin looking. These actors have a Nordic aspects. Only I said. Keep the above.
John Lloyd Young is so gorgeous!! Loved the movie Jersey Boys, and actually saw Frankie Valli in concert last month.
Just getting the accent down, Vincent was remarkable. He took the movie to another level.
His character was such an as
A-hole I loved it
I saw a clip of the real Tommy and I think he's still an asshole lol
Tonithenightowl I know. Love to hate him.
Every great story has an antagonist and Tommy was IT. Frankie was the one with a deep sense of loyalty and commitment. In the end it all paid off. He's a living legend.:o)
Tonithenightowl I disagree. His loyalty and commitment was misplaced and came at the expense of others who deserved and needed his loyalty and commitment more than Tommy did.(he never demonstrated that kinds of loyalty and commitment to anyone else in his life, not in the band and especially not of the female variety.) Vincent as Tommy was so, so , excellent my favorite!!!

ジョンとフォーシーズンのメンバーは4人とも日本人の心を鷲づかみしました❤皆んな素敵過ぎ〜😊❤❤❤
I know people get pissed that most of these actors aren’t famous, but coming from broadway fandom, these actors knew what they were doing, because they did it 8 times a week! Especially John. He won the tony
Vincent Piazza makes the movie - a real antagonist. I loved his voice too.
Oh yeah - Rag Doll is my favorite song also.
***** He wasn't an antagonist, he just always looked into the future without looking at the present.
*****I couldn't disagree with you more. People who gamble away money aren't looking into the future. They are looking for immediate gratification through their addictive behavior.
Yeah he was good. I was afraid that he would get typecast after Boardwalk Empire (playing Lucky Luciano) but it seems to work for him.
***** i agree plus hes nice to look at
Vincent Piazza was inspired casting. Thoroughly impressed!
Vincent piazza greatest actor I know he nailed it in boardwalk empire.
Oh look ! My four husbands are being interviewed together. I'm one lucky lady.
+Hannah Powell Cute but you have settle for only two...lol

Wendy Denning Loved the movie!!!! It was so good. I adore all the guys and it would be amazing if the four of them go on tour together:) I would be the first one there lol:):)
Oh my gosh Vincent is immensely talented and handsome. Major crush on him right now.
A remote dropper for me. Whenever I come across it, I have to watch.
5th time watching this movie. Can't get enough.
I have seen the movie 2 times. Fantastic. Going back for a third time John Lloyd Young was just awsome!. Going to get his music. Great voice. Great job guys! Thank you Mr Clint Eastwood for making a great movie for all to see!
I could watch these gentlemen all day... What a great production
I knew the Four Seasons from the beginning. Frankie lived in Steven Crane Village in Newark and I live in Silver LAKE IN BELLEVILE, NEW JERSEY. I use to hang around with his brother Robert Casteluchio. Frankie would come and go wild I was their
at his house. My aunt and uncle also live in the same village. Frankie and the Boys became my all time Rock and Roll band
Tremendous team of talented men right here!
But my favorite was Vincent as Tommy ,thoroughly convincing actor in every way!!
~Marion
I loved Vincent too in the movie, he was adorable:):)

Ha ha busta ya balls ha ha
SAW THE MOVIE AND LOOOOOOOOOOVED IT💕💞💓💗❤️♥️♥️💖👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Loved them all, Vincent was the coolest.
Piazza was outstanding in this movie.
What an amazing production. I have watched this movie at least a dozen times. I have the CD that I listen to every time I get into the car. It takes me back to the days of growing up.. I just adore the Jersey boys! Thank you!
The whole movie was so riveting. Whoever cast these guys was a genius. Not a dim bulb in the chandelier.
Tommy DeVito: character he looks very shy laid back he played an awesome role ..... love that movie can’t get enough of it !!!!
My dream is to work with these people some day. They all seem so humble and are so extremely talented!
2:42 - "...and where did they find you?" Heee! His answer! I love Vincent Piazza's sense of humor. I love, also, his talent. I bought him completely as Tommy DeVito. THE best movie I have seen in many years!
I've never seen the stage show but the movie was amazing
Jersey boys brilliant performers, Frankie valley and the 4 season there music will live on,❤
Such a fun movie; I need to see it again because like all Clint Eastwood Movies he sneaks up on you with the detail, then need to recall from the beginning. Loved it, songs, and loved the color tones and feeling of the times.
Love Jersey boys 😊😍very talented beautiful voice especially John. L .Young
He nailed Bob so perfectly.
Erich complimenting then flirting with Vincent and making him squirm still gives me life.
@ssian5678
"Well, it was a little romantic at times."
The movie was phenomenal!!!!! I bought the cd and watch it till I know it by heart!!! ❤
The movie of jersey boys was awesome
My husband and went to NYC play three times love them
I was either 17 when I saw this movie and I went with my parents, brother and grandparents to see it. And it was a phenomenal film and it's a story that should be shared generations to come. It's still one of my favorites even though I've never seen the broadway musical hit.

Vincent looks fucking pissed
Your right lol and in the movie I liked him the most. I have to see him in another interview....maybe it is just his personality though...
Erich bergen 😍❤️
I'm so glad I found this interview... sadly I did not get to see the play on Broadway, but I saw the movie four times.
I feel Vincent is almost rudely humble
Maybe a little shy, too. He kept looking at the ground, whenever someone appeared to be paying him a compliment.
Attractiveness everywhere
Like I said before I saw the play in New York a few years ago. I thought the movie was great but nothing beats the live music you get to hear. And nothing beats the real guy!
Worth seeing.

I love you Vincent !!!
I love John Lloyd Young
I watch the movie kind of nice but not complete ! Thank you for sharing
I like the movie jersey Boys. did not get a chance to see Broadway play.
Ummm, um, um, that John Lloyd Young is so cute. The Jersey Boys are so very talented. They do deserve to have beautiful wives, families, and lives. I wish I was still sixteen years young!
Vincent plays a bad boy and girls love Bad Boys and he’s gorgeous sexy
this is my favorite musical
Handsome talented men! 😍🤩😘

The coolest, classiest, most handsome guys and actors Everett!! :)
Awesome movie☆☆☆☆☆
still watching it lol!
Love this movie!! ❤️
Vincent is the perfect Tommy! Italian Stallion for sure.
this is so so so my favorite movie
I'm surprised none of them said "My eyes Adored You" was their favorite song, particularly John Lloyd Young.
Are their any interviews with John Lloyd Young and Frankie Valli together?
3 cross their legs right over left.....then there's that one guy >.<
Hahaha no but great interview
The effect is that the legs are signifying it is a closed circle they are in. Like the four of them together are a solid unit for real. Legs that are crossed toward the outside of a group signify dissent.

hornetgags But did you see the play?
I 100% agree. Hopefully it will inspire a show like a Mama Mia....
Michael😩❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Michael, John and Eric's mannerisms are all so alike

Eric Bergern's head is so big..
Fantastico!! Where is the DVD and the CD?
John and I like the same song
I like jly, he hottest..love him.
John he is a funny dude
Yay
John Lloyd Young is wearing black fancy boots. NO high heels.
From 2021
The lukewarm reviews for this movie are unwarranted. I thought this movie was great!
I think Vincent Piazza has a bright future in film, he has a depth about him. I dont agree with the casting of Eric Bergen for the Bob Gaudio role, not a good choice just my opinion.
they're all hot but Lomenda got my eyes😍😍😍😍😍
i want to know if it really their voice???
????
at 7:25 Vincent Piazza looks about ready to murder Eric Bergen lel..
I don't wear high heels. I wear flip flops.
