People will lose their jobs and will be forced to buy the cheaper product, US or not. So what you didnt buy will be bought by someone else.
This is the consequence of our politicians making Canada overly dependent on the U.S. Instead of building a resilient, diversified economy, they allowed us to become vulnerable to American trade policies. Now, a single decision from Washington can shake our industries, raise prices, and threaten Canadian jobs. It’s time for Canada to rethink its trade strategy and reduce its reliance on the U.S. market.

It’s all about the USA , as usual isn’t it??? Self absorbed ignorance is prevailing.. in a time like this where everything is chaotic, Mr bully thinks he can attack the whole world but more disappointingly, his owns neighbor’s… how pathetic and weak…
funny how 99% of illegal stuff comes into canada from the usa but only 1% of illegal stuff comes from canada into the usa
Yes that's true. But Trump doesn't actually know the difference between Canada and Mexico...
Just accept it, let's start negotiating with other countries to trade with ... Build some infrastructure to get our resources to the coasts (all three) ... If the US doesn't want them 🤷♂️
Buy local. Cut electricity. Slow oil. Scrap the intellectual property agreements.
Trump is a gambler, not an economist. He has no clue, but imposing tariffs and lowering taxes seemed like a good idea to his Grade 10 mind, so he is pushing on with that one idea. We'll see what the U.S. deficit looks like in a while.
Neither. He's a business magnate. Economics are at the core of business. Don't you worry about the deficit, it's going to be just fine over here. And tariffs are going to do exactly as he planned. Canada will submit. Just watch. 😂😂
If American end up paying the tariffs as progressives say then why are you worried. Wise up. Vote out liberals or the country withers. We shouldnt have to be telling you this.

It’s his people who will pay the higher prices. We lose the jobs.
America voted for greed and corruption. We sure got that in spades!!
And they want their own people poorer -- freezing their food stamps, transfers for programs such as kids school lunches, and Meals on Wheels for seniors. Evil.
Trudeau has done far more damage to this country than Trump ever will. Vote Pierre Poilievre, and give his Conservatives a majority so they can start rebuilding this great nation 🇨🇦

Dollar for dollar tariffs on us now! They wanna find out.
If he is going to tariff us anyway then don't put the billions extra on the border.
the FELON is such a world class liar ... our border service just stopped $80 million dollars from entering Canada from the USA. they are the problem ... how is it that their border security and law enforcement did not detect it as it made its way thru their country?
Exactly!
The only way to stop a bully is to stand up to it and/or ignore its bluster. Do not, ever, give in to a bully.
The border was just an excuse. A lame one at best. He’s not happy unless he is fighting with some other country. This is an attack on Canada to acquire it.
How can the U.S. government tax a foreign country? This another backwards non sense by the media.

26% tariffs on them perhaps. Also, maybe this is good so we can make deals elsewhere. Time to stand apart from the US. It's gross there.

@@WezleyB You do know we have allies outside of the USA, yes?
