I joined the school last week, i spent a good part of the week watching the videos. Yesterday, i went to the range and hit massive PWs, 8 iron 7 wd, 3wd, 5 hyb, driver. In the words of John Sterling, it is high, it is far, it is gone!!!! I did not hit my 5 iron well, not sure why.
Only "a little", Richard? Dang - I've got to brush up on my unconventionality...... 😂😂😂 Congrats on your best 9-hole score, and thanks for sharing your success!! I'm very glad to know that my instruction content is resonating so well with you!! Keep up the great work and have fun out there!! Tom
Good job Richard ! I’m 51. I’ve been improving a lot in last few years. Saguto has helped a lot. I think the journey has a lot of game changer moments. His one drill striking ball that is above to right field took me up another notch. Keeps u on the ball and through it. My goal was to break 80 this year. It didn’t quite happen. My short game is my next motivation
😂 half the game I'll have is his teachings, maybe a little more than, but the other remainder will be the mental image of saguto (*this video) You cannot dig yourself into a bad one with it! Try? Hey it's all really good for us out here who loved the 80's , the best music, movies, and a real sense of lightness about it☺️ at least for me.. but on a real note, your methods are sound ✅
Folks, I'm a senior golfer with finger joint pain. This quiet wedge swing saved my golf life! It also works amazingly well with my 7 iron and high lofted woods (5 w, 7 w, 9w & 11w) off the fairway and the tee! Thanks Tom!
Fantastic! I’m very glad to know that this lesson resonated with you, Greg; excellent job incorporating it into your swing and putting it into play. Yes - the "hands free" swing is absolutely applicable through the entire bag. Ideally we should simply "allow" the hand/wrist/arm actions to happen without forcing anything. In other words, if we have a secure grip, pre-establish the connections properly in the setup, and have a foundational base that facilitates a full centered turn without restriction, then once we've ingrained the correct positions through sequential drilling and repetition we can entrust the motion to the big muscles and allow the arms, wrists, hands, and club to simply go along for the ride and respond accordingly as if on autopilot. The power accumulators - including the proper arm, wrist, and hand action - will then naturally load and fire with no contrived manipulations or precise timing necessary, thereby returning the face to the position pre-established at address. We are minimizing variables and building a ball striking machine, and the golfer will find that as trust builds in the shoulders will rotate freely and the "machine" will then be optimized. It's called "giving up control to gain control", and it's the formula for consistently blissful ball striking and seemingly effortless power. By the way, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. If you've not already joined, have you considered enrolling in the online school and taking your learning - and your game - to the next level? That's where - in addition to detailed lessons and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish - you'll find diagnostic tools for identifying/resolving swing and ball flight issues when they arise, plus advanced level instruction, and much more. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. The value in terms of what you get for the low price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet. And if you would like to first "dip a toe in the water" prior to diving into the school, then here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lesson and drill content, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the formal learning method that is delivering the referenced results. As you are now coming to understand, one does not need the flexibility of a Romanian gymnast - or even of this far less pliable golf instructor - to execute this swing, experience great ball striking, and reclaim - or even exceed - yardages from years past. I hope you'll give the school some thought. Thanks so much for your support in sharing your body-friendly success and keep up the great work!! 💪💪 Tom
I want to express how much I appreciate you.i am new to sport and your lessons have made a big difference. I finally golfed a round under 50,and I am going to sign up next week to your mini course lesson thx
That is *OUTSTANDING,* John - welcome to this greatest of games, and congrats on achieving that scoring milestone!! 💪💪 I’m very glad to know that my instruction is resonating with you; excellent job incorporating it into your swing and putting it into play. Thanks so much for your support in sharing your improvement, keep up the great work, and I look forward to seeing you in the free mini course (and perhaps in the online school after that?)!! Tom Saguto, PGA
Thanks again, Tom, for another piece of advice that works. I would recommend that others try it. I have been working on pitch shots with my 56 degree sand wedge and 60 degree loft wedge. Following instructions from both the pro I go to at my range as well as a short game expert who was featured on videos produced by a well known master fitter in Canada, I have addressed the ball with the shaft straight up in line with my sternum, tilted slightly forward with weight on the left foot, and struck the grass or ground about two inches behind the ball. This allows the bounce to glide the club under the ball, producing a nice high, soft trajectory. It even works on a range mat. The idea was to avoid what many do, which is to lean the shaft forward and attempt to hit down on the ball first. This requires precision and also reduces the loft, defeats the bounce, and can cause the leading edge of the club to dig. The short game wizard also recommended finding what yardage you get with each wedge from two backswing positions, one with the shaft just parallel to the ground, and the other with your left arm parallel to the ground, as well as your distance with a full swing. So today at the range I worked on your advice to keep the hands quiet. It worked. My yardage with the shaft just parallel to the ground is basically 35 yards with the lob wedge and 55 with the sand wedge. Of course, it may vary depending on how long, thick and lush the rough is versus a tight lie. Bottom line, using your quiet hands technique I found it was both easy to hit these shots and the results produced were extremely consistent. And your advice to keep the face pointed toward the target, not releasing the right hand over the left and closing the face, was also super important.
That's great, John! I'm very glad to know that this lesson helped to further shore up what sounds like an already very proficient wedge game. Nicely done, and thanks again for a very helpful comment! Cheers! Tom
Hey Tom, thanks for the video. It's probably cliche but your videos have helped me immensely. Started watching a couple weeks ago and when I was out playing with mates this past weekend, I got several compliments on my significant improvement. You're the man, Tom.
A dad on his 10 year olds account.... I just have to say this wedge instruction changed my golf life! I always struggled with wedges, now I'm deadly accurate! No more wrist hinge and finish with club face up. Bing bang boom!!!!!! Thank you!
Hey there, 10 year-old: Please let your dad know that I'm very happy to learn that this lesson helped him, and tell him to keep up the great work!! (Also, make sure that he takes you golfing!!! 😎) Your friend, Tom
Tom, I have to thank you. Since I have been watching your videos I have Improved dramatically. I even won a tournament in my golf club. Before I adopted your suggestions I rarely broke 100!
I'm 35 and just started golfing last year and have been watching a combination Saguto & Me and My Golf and broke 80 this year !! I love blending Sagutos, laid back, and go with the flow approach and the biomechanics teachings of Me and My Golf
That's awesome, Justin!! 💪💪 I'm very glad to know that my instruction is resonating with you, and I appreciate your support in sharing your dramatic progress. Keep up the great work and keep it KFCrispy!! Tom
Best Golf Instructor for a minimalistic , uncomplicated Swing . By putting almost all my weight on the left leg , you immediately sorted my swaying. You improved my swing concept dramatically , the 70 + old body is creating distance and I constantly breaking 100 now. Since we relocated from Guernsey to Brisbane Oz, I started playing again 6 M ago, after a 5 year break ( Weather was to bad in Channel Islands for golf.)
Welcome back to this great game, Gerrit!! I am very glad to learn that my channel's instruction has benefited your game to such an extent!! You've obviously done an excellent job digesting the lesson content, incorporating it into your swing, and taking ownership of it!! Thanks for sharing your success, keep up the fantastic work, and have fun out there!! Tom
This is legit. Since starting S&T using Tom's free videos I have gone from a 10.3 to a 6.8 index in two months. Before this, my goal was to break 85, now it is break 80. Shot a 78 yesterday and a 76 today and I suck at putting. 31 putts today, and 5 birdies. Your putting gets better when you stick the wedges inside 8 feet most of the time. Shot 41 on the front due to Benedryl hangover. I have severe allergies to grass and some trees. Once the brain fog cleared, I shot 35 on the back, par is 36/36. My problem today was forgetting to pin the upper arms to the chest on some short iron shots. Again this stuff works and Tom knows how to get it across to you. And there is no way I'm letting my pigeon$ know about Mr. Tom Saguto. Sorry, Tom.
Well geez, Ronald - if you're going to keep me all to yourself and continue to take your buddies' money without divulging your secret, then the least you can do is use some of your winnings to pay the paltry $10/month for my online school, right??? I mean, throw me an extra-crispy chicken bone here... 😂😂😂 Congrats on blowing your goal to smithereens! Looks like even par is next.... Keep up the great work and have fun out there! Tom
Im joining up Ton. Your teaching /vids are great. I wanna get crispy before I get any older and cranky or crumbly or cranbly ( yes thats cranky and crumbly combined. See how that works?). Im a 12 index. My irons are holding me back all while my shots are free to wreak havoc on trees and houses but never greens. Life is too short for bad golf.
Congrats and good story. Similar experience here. I’ve told my crew about Tom’s tips but not sure if they even looked. You know, the old “you can lead a horse to water” saying. Once you get that putting alignment down you’ll be a 4. Cheers
@Johnnyel_Segundo - But there's also the saying "If you beat a dead horse by schooling them on the course and taking all their money , they might second guess their initial stubbornness and finally take that drink..." (Well, maybe it's not a saying, but it should be...😎)
Gonna keep coming back to this video when I’m pitching or chipping from distance I seem to go left so I must be flipping like I said in the other video I’ve taken 20 shots of my score and I know I can take a hell of a lot more just need to get my pitches and putts right. I can’t afford to sign up to saguto golf but with these videos on TH-cam I bet the people that sign up end up insane! Honestly thank you mr saguto you will go down in the book of golf legends! We need to see more course vlogs when you have the time!
I'm 50 and you keep reminding about all the things I've known in the past to work and simplify the golf swing but forgot due to a golfless life for the past 20 years. Ok, maybe not EVERYTHING! I've turned all the golfers I know on to your channel. Thank you sir!
I am sooooooo glad I discovered you and your lessons! I have ceased watching any other instruction. I'm tuned to your guidance and lessons only. THANK YOU!!!
I appreciate your kind words and ongoing support, Bill, and I'm thrilled for your progress! Since you are "all in" on my instruction, if you've not already joined I hope you'll give the online school some serious thought as it is designed to take your learning - and your game - to new levels. Thanks again and keep up the great work!! Tom
Tom, thank you so much for this tip . I tried this today and wow !!! Never felt ball contact like that. I play of 14. But that is going to come down .So accurate.

Chipping has been the worst part of my game. Today I went to a local school rugby field, and could not believe what control I had over my chipping shots. A million thanks Tom. I can't wait for my next game.
That's fantastic, Michael! Nice job incorporating that lesson into your swing; I'm very glad to know that it worked well for you. Thanks for sharing your success and keep up the great work!! TS
Dear Tom thanks a million for this excellent video. I am really benefited by this. Sometimes i am experiencing that my shoulder fall down and hitting fat shot specially by the wedges. Need your assistance. Thanks.

Hey Tom, luv all your videos. Both short and long. And I appreciated the private lesson we did last year. I needed to go back and listen/watch this video. I'm having some challenges with fat and chunky in the 60-90 yard area with my 58-degree lob wedge. Are you still incorporating the tilt with the less than full swings and wedge shots? Thx Dan
Hey Dan! I appreciate your kind words, and I'm very glad to know that my instruction content and teaching style are continuing to resonate with you. Yes - the tilt component applies even on those less than full swings. We never want to lose our relationship with the ball! If you need a refresher, I do offer a swing video analysis service which enables me to put my eyes on your swing, diagnose any issues, and provide a corrective action plan if applicable. Here is a link where you can learn more about this option: saguto.golf/lessons Nice to hear from you! Tom
I was about to get custom fitted for a ball retriever. Instead, I joined Tom's Online Golf School. I am now playing the best golf of my LIFE at 63! Tom is dropping truth bombs left and right, blowing up the conventional golf teaching that has us chopping and flopping and flipping and whipping. Change your game, start ENJOYING golf! Thank you TOM!!
Thank you again, Mark!! I truly appreciate your glowing endorsements of the online school, and I am absolutely thrilled for your success and resulting enjoyment of this great game!! Keep it Krispy, my friend! Tom
@@SagutoGolf You know I’m a fan. You have really helped my game. About to take my crispy game back to Cabo where I had had my first EVER 9 holes of even par. Fairways, greens, crispy chips when I miss, straight back and straight through putting. It all works!
Man, since stack n tilt, my short game has been superb! I've taken the time to develop a good tempo, which means PAINSTAKING slow motions, but it has paid off immensely. I don't know about you, but I've been using JUST my wrists for 10 yards and in. If you can really grasp it, and make it exact... it's the least amount of movement. I don't advise it for novice players, but I don't chunk, I don't skull/thin/fat, anything. I just imagine my full swing but slimmed down.
Tom- I joined and I love it! One question- I find when I release my hinge on the downswing the wedge is a lot easier to accomplish! Your thoughts? Thanks Todd⛳️⛳️⛳️🏌🏼♂️
I'm glad you are enjoying the school, Todd! Here's a channel lesson on the proper "release": th-cam.com/video/zw7Rzstq4gY/w-d-xo.html Assuming you are doing it that way, there would be no conflict with regard to the wedge. By the way, since you are enrolled I encourage you to migrate over to the SagutoGolf Community Forum (which is included in your membership) and begin engaging with other golfers in the school. You're always bringing up food Mr. Golf Instructor Extraordinare. Hit Mc Donald's or something will you? You're making me freaking hungry with every new download of these outstanding golf instruction, video shorts.
@@SagutoGolf Maybe, but I had a really good bacon cheeseburger along with a chocolate shake, for lunch today at a local drive in. For some reason, It made me think about this certain "par excellence" golf Instructor, I get good golf tips from now, on a regular basis. This guy's so good, he's turning duffer me, that's got a 2" thick, concrete ring around his brain, day by day, into a golfing machine.
I'm glad you are enjoying the online school, Matthew! Be sure to check out the "Get Out and Go Play" quick-start course that I just added!: saguto.golf/courses/enrolled/1436366 The school's course on the Shot Shaping Grid is going to help you read and understand your ball flight: saguto.golf/courses/enrolled/886727 This will tell you that for a pull-draw your clubface is closed to both the target line (the pull starting direction) and the path (the draw curvature). The simple potential fix - which does not require any swing alteration - is to simply try moving your ball position for the shorter clubs further back in the stance. You do have some leeway with ball position. I tend to like the simplicity of keeping it consistent relative to the inside of the lead heel and adjusting the stance width depending on the length of the club. Alternatively, the Stack & Tilt book prescribes a stock ball position that is in the middle of the stance for short irons, two balls inside the lead heel for middle irons, and incrementally more forward for the longer clubs - the farthest forward being even with the inside of the lead heel for the driver (again, with the stance width increasing as we move from shorter to longer clubs). It's very important to use alignment sticks when monitoring ball position - one on the foot line, a second one parallel to the first to mark the target line, and a third perpendicular to these to show ball position. Make incremental tweaks to see how different positions affect impact quality and shot shape. I hope this helps! Tom PS: Be sure to join the online school's Members' Forum (it's included in your membership). It only takes a minute or two to enroll - just go to your “My Courses” screen and you’ll see a link to get started. I monitor the forum regularly and am a frequent participant in the discussions, including assisting with swing-related inquiries. I really think you’ll enjoy it!
I had the same problem, I was pulling my shots left and coming down too steep with shorter irons. The problem was I tended to tilt my spine angle more toward the target rather than down at the ball, this caused fat shots and pulls.
Thanks for the suggestion, Rich. I'll take it under advisement, but worst case scenario there's always the beauty of unlimited replays once the video is up - just minus the anticipation and excitement that the live countdown affords... Cheers! Tom
Ummm I’m loving these lessons. At 70, fit, fast and 15 hcp. I kinda sorta resent that. I think more women would benefit from these if you’d include us. Is a 70 year old man more fit than a 70 year old woman ? Shoot, these guys have moved up three tee’s and we’ve played the same since day one. SG, too cute for words. Don’t forget us!
Tommy!! Great tip paisano! I was doing well in every area but this, I couldn’t get the meatballs onto the spaghetti, this secret sauce has me grouping the meatballs in the center of the rigatoni’s. Thanks Tom. Your lessons have certainly changed my game tremendously

@@SagutoGolf Hey quick question. I've been following your program on saguto golf and I decided to film myself. I noticed that on my backswing my head is dropping down and forward. Do you know why that is?

50% weight forward at the top certainly represents a step in the right direction for those transitioning from a "shift and lift" method of swinging, Christopher. However, ultimately we want to get you to where you start with your weight forward (55/45 generally, but up to 60/40 for the longer clubs), gradually add more forward weight to the top (70/30), 80/20 halfway down, 90/10 impact, and 95/5 finish. This is a key component for achieving consistent ball striking bliss! By the way, have you considered enrolling in the SagutoGolf online school? Hey Tom, are you holding off the finish to exaggerate and show us that you didn’t flip the wrists? Or is this how you suggest with a wedge? I love Steve Stricker’s swing - but I see when he finishes, his hands / arms are relaxed.
It's a "quiet hands" *_drill_* swing, John. Can you play with this swing in order to ingrain the feel? Absolutely. Do I normally hold off my finish in that exaggerated style? No. Cheers! Tom
Tom, so are putting some weight on the trail leg going back and shift the weight slightly to the lead leg going through, or is 50/50 weight during the swing,? Thanks
Hi gary, In the swing system I teach we start with our weight forward (generally 55/45 for the short and mid irons, 60/40 for the longer clubs), gradually add more forward weight to the top (70/30), 80/20 halfway down, 90/10 impact, and 95/5 finish. There's no "weight shift"; instead it's just a gradually increasing load onto the lead side. And the result is a centered, low-maintenance, body-friendly, consistent, and tremendously powerful swing. Tom PS: By the way, here's a link to my FREE mini-course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker” in case you’re interested in learning some key aspects of the swing system I teach in a more structured manner: go.saguto.golf/
Hi Carey, "Quiet" in this context means no active hand/wrist manipulations, which also includes not trying to hold a position unnaturally. This concept applies to these shorter shots as well as the full swing. If we pre-establish the connections properly in the setup and have a foundational base that facilitates a full centered turn without restriction, then once we've ingrained the correct actions through sequential drilling and repetition we can entrust the motion to the big muscles and allow the arms, wrists, hands, and club to simply go along for the ride and respond accordingly as if on autopilot. While there are certainly videos on my channel that address this topic, a better option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Tom
I'll first have to ask my outfitter if he has any leisure suit golf knickers available. Any effort to do so otherwise would be, shall we say, a "Tragedy".... 😂
Hi Joel, We don't have to rely on timing in this system; only proper sequencing. As this relates to your question, the lateral targetward action of the hips acts as a governor to prevent a premature over-rotation and thereby enables the player to keep his upper torso square without having to fight his body. Most amateur golfers already have plenty of the rotational component; they instead need to build in the lateral hip slide to suppress the early-onset spinout that causes so many to get steep and across the line. Here are a couple of lesson videos on this topic: - th-cam.com/video/dB4ItR3guGU/w-d-xo.html - th-cam.com/video/I5XYgKopTb4/w-d-xo.html I hope that helps, Tom
Hey Mr. Saguto! I was wondering if you have an opinion on balls? I usually just game with the cheap Noodle Easy Distance or Top Flites. Does a ball make that huge of a difference in ball flight for an ammeter golfer?! Wondering if I should spend the big $$$ or save!?
Yes they do If you want to go the full hog and get the Pro V go ahead but I have found just finding a good mid to upper priced ball to be great You really do notice the difference around the green
The ball does make a difference for sure, but that does not mean that you have to pay the big bucks. Golf Digest reviews balls at various price points each year. I'm sure other golf publications do the same. Cheers! Tom

What is your opinion on the Moe Norman swing? I have been golfing for about 6 months and struggling - always inconsistent - one day good, one day bad until I tried to hit like Moe - I cannot believe how far and straight I hit my driver now.
Hi Debbie, While the Stack and Tilt swing I teach shares the single plane feature, it is definitely different from the Moe Norman version and for this reason I do not recommend crisscrossing between the two methods as it would certainly lend itself to confusion. This should not be construed as a knock against Mr. Norman's renowned ball striking prowess or the style of instruction that he inspired; it's simply that components of his swing style are not compatible with S&T. So my best suggestion to those who are weighing these two methods is to choose one or the other, but not both! Have you considered enrolling in the SagutoGolf online school? Hi Mike, I do my best to convey different "feels" or thoughts throughout the swing wherever possible because we're all unique physiologically and psychologically, and something that resonates effectively with me may not necessarily work for you. Furthermore, a feel or thought that performs well for you this week may run its course or get overdone and not play out so nicely next week, so it's good to have alternates to call upon if needed. The key takeaway here is that no matter the variety of suggested feels/thoughts offered for a particular element of the swing, they are all directed at getting different golfers to achieve the same desired motion or position. (It's like a multiple choice test with no wrong answer!) Beyond that, it is important to understand that the videos, lessons, and drills on this free channel - while fully aligned with the swing method I teach - address a variety of topics, issues, feels, and/or common flaws/fixes from one episode to the next. They are certainly not intended to be taken as a sequential learning platform like the structured curriculum of my online school, which I strongly recommend to anyone who truly wishes to get on the proper path towards owning this swing. For just $10 US/month or $99 US/year you'll have unlimited access to a comprehensive members-only system for the full swing, the short game, and much more. The school's intuitive course layout greatly simplifies the entire process through succinct, step-by-step videos, and I'm regularly adding new content. @@SagutoGolf Hey Tom, Greatly appreciate the personal response. I’ve been watching your videos for well over a year now (via more than one account). Your pointers and tips are defined worth the money. I was looking into your subscription program, and will consider enrolling in the future. I’ve watched my scores go from the 110s to the mid to high 90s in one year. So I can’t wait to see what else you have to offer. Please keep up the fun and entertaining videos to teach us how to get great power, while not having to hurt our backs. - Mike
Hi Tom. I wanted to ask you. Should my stance be very narrow with the weight shift? I have been using your method the last 2 times at the range. I have hit some great shots but more fat shots. I am not sure what direction to go. I was thinking maybe narrowing my stance. Maybe this will help me.
Hi Stuart, There is no weight shift to the trail side in this swing. You start with your weight forward (55/45 on the front side; 60/40 for the longer clubs), increase that same weight forward to the top of the backswing (70/30), and further increase the forward weight during the downswing from halfway down (80/20) through impact (90/10) and to the finish at 95/5 forward. As for stance width, you need to be in an athletic setup, and a stance that is too narrow would not be supportive of this. Have you considered enrolling in the SagutoGolf online school? That's my best suggestion for you, as so many folks across the globe are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result. Hey Tom, I recently watched a video from Sam Goulden Golf called the square to square method; club face square throughout, left shoulder initiation and he featured Steve Stricker as a model for square to square. Is your s and t method essentially the same as his square to square ? Thanks
Hi Mike, I am familiar with Square-to-Square, but what I teach is the Stack and Tilt method. Here is the story of my "conversion" if you are interested: th-cam.com/video/PM8lNNrMPEk/w-d-xo.html Cheers! Tom

Hi Vic, The Stack & Tilt swing is a very body-friendly method. For me this is supported by my personal experience as a player and furthered by the fact that the majority of my students are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. Should you wish to give this swing a fair shot by learning it properly, please consider enrolling in the SagutoGolf online school. So many folks across the globe are now playing the best golf of their lives as a result. At the very least, even if your knees are incapable of executing the full extent of their prescribed motions, you will still reap the consistency benefits of a centered swing while accessing the tremendous power source of angular momentum. Thanks, and best of luck to you! Tom
Yes. It really applies to all clubs. I speak about this in some of the more recent episodes. Hi Gerald, Based on your recent comments I sense that you are trying too hard to piece things together from these channel videos that jump around randomly from topic to topic and from feel to feel. As I have already conveyed, if you'd really like to get on the fast track towards properly learning this body-friendly, powerful, low-maintenance swing system in a comprehensive, structured, sequential platform, please enroll in my online school as it will make for a far more efficient, superior, and enjoyable learning process than what you are doing. The school is where you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish, along with diagnostic and corrective tools for resolving common swing, contact, and ball flight issues, and much more. Join the thousands from across the globe who are now enjoying the best golf of their lives. At just $14.99/month or $149.99 per year the value in terms of what you get for that price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet. Thanks, Tom
Tom I felt the need to report this.... went out of town To my in laws brought a couple clubs with me and just got done with a range session... The club pro there was literally next to me giving lessons teaching people to gain club speed at impact by snapping the wrists at the mat... Can you please do a video to Help people avoid bad advice..... I literally almost lost my mind when he told the kid to take the body out of it
Hi Carl, Perhaps these might suffice?: - th-cam.com/video/Fe2kQ44azJ4/w-d-xo.html - th-cam.com/video/SunCR5uJ_ao/w-d-xo.html Unfortunately, such sorcery from the dark underworld of golf instruction rarely finds its way to the mainstream because if too many folks found out about it the mainstream would then be rendered irrelevant....... 😎 Cheers!
I love this guy. A little unconventional 😁. At 55 years old I shot my best 9 holes last week following his tips. I shot two under👍🏻.
Only "a little", Richard? Dang - I've got to brush up on my unconventionality...... 😂😂😂
Congrats on your best 9-hole score, and thanks for sharing your success!!
Same Richard except I’m 51
😂 half the game I'll have is his teachings, maybe a little more than, but the other remainder will be the mental image of saguto (*this video)
You cannot dig yourself into a bad one with it!
Tom
Tom, you consistently have the most clear , effective , technical info online. Great stuff!
Thank you, Joshua! I appreciate your very kind words and I'm very glad to know that my instruction content is resonating well with you!!
Tom
Excellent points, Joshua. I don't think I've seen a 'bogey' video from Tom ;-)... lots of Tom 'birdie' videos is impressive !
I’m very glad to know that my instruction is resonating with you; excellent job incorporating it into your swing and putting it into play.
Your friend,
Tom
Tom, I have to thank you. Since I have been watching your videos I have Improved dramatically. I even won a tournament in my golf club. Before I adopted your suggestions I rarely broke 100!
I'm 35 and just started golfing last year and have been watching a combination Saguto & Me and My Golf and broke 80 this year !! I love blending Sagutos, laid back, and go with the flow approach and the biomechanics teachings of Me and My Golf
That's awesome, Justin!! 💪💪
I'm very glad to know that my instruction is resonating with you, and I appreciate your support in sharing your dramatic progress.
Keep up the great work and keep it KFCrispy!!
Tom
Golf mates are pretty good too particularly old man Pat
Congrats on blowing your goal to smithereens! Looks like even par is next....
Keep up the great work and have fun out there!
Tom
Ok. You guilted me into it. I’ll sign up this week. Looking forward to seeing your other content.
Thanks so much, Michael - I sincerely appreciate your support and the referrals!!
Tom
I am sooooooo glad I discovered you and your lessons! I have ceased watching any other instruction. I'm tuned to your guidance and lessons only. THANK YOU!!!
I appreciate your kind words and ongoing support, Bill, and I'm thrilled for your progress!

Thanks again and keep up the great work!!

Tom, thank you so much for this tip . I tried this today and wow !!! Never felt ball contact like that. I play of 14. But that is going to come down .So accurate.

Love the way you simplify for this over thinking Virgo brain !!! 😊

Yes indeed, Johnny - when we allow S&T to "leak" into the short game it will yield dividends there as well!

Hey Tom…love the online school. When you switched to S&T did you have issue with pull draws on the short clubs….wedges are my issue.
As a lefty my 9i, pitch wedge, gap wedge and sand wedge usually go right of the flag. I have checked my grip and alignment, not sure of the reason.
Same issue here
I'm glad you are enjoying the online school, Matthew! Be sure to check out the "Get Out and Go Play" quick-start course that I just added!: saguto.golf/courses/enrolled/1436366
The school's course on the Shot Shaping Grid is going to help you read and understand your ball flight: saguto.golf/courses/enrolled/886727 This will tell you that for a pull-draw your clubface is closed to both the target line (the pull starting direction) and the path (the draw curvature).

I had the same problem, I was pulling my shots left and coming down too steep with shorter irons. The problem was I tended to tilt my spine angle more toward the target rather than down at the ball, this caused fat shots and pulls.
Please please please... "Saturdays are for the boys" so we need our Saguto tips to drop on Friday evenings instead of Saturday afternoons.

@@SagutoGolf I’ll be starting your training program very soon. 👍
Just started to begin backswing with shoulders. Game changer with single plane stack tilt putting 50% weight on left/front foot at top of backswing.
Best advice since I joined Tom 2 weeks ago.

No.

Allisen Corpuz...simple swing and preswing routine also.
What a great major victory for her yesterday!!
Hey Saguto, love your crispy channel. It’s about time you take crispiness to the course & video it for us. How about it???
Tom, so are putting some weight on the trail leg going back and shift the weight slightly to the lead leg going through, or is 50/50 weight during the swing,? Thanks
Hi gary,
In the swing system I teach we start with our weight forward (generally 55/45 for the short and mid irons, 60/40 for the longer clubs), gradually add more forward weight to the top (70/30), 80/20 halfway down, 90/10 impact, and 95/5 finish. There's no "weight shift"; instead it's just a gradually increasing load onto the lead side. And the result is a centered, low-maintenance, body-friendly, consistent, and tremendously powerful swing.
Tom

Excellent!!
So, key question. When you say "quiet" do we mean loose and let things move naturally or try to hold the club face in that position?
Hi Carey,
"Quiet" in this context means no active hand/wrist manipulations, which also includes not trying to hold a position unnaturally.
While there are certainly videos on my channel that address this topic, a better option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews

For timing in almost any shot, do you start down swing before you start flying open hips??
Hi Joel,
We don't have to rely on timing in this system; only proper sequencing.
Here are a couple of lesson videos on this topic:
- th-cam.com/video/dB4ItR3guGU/w-d-xo.html
- th-cam.com/video/I5XYgKopTb4/w-d-xo.html
I hope that helps,
Tom
Hey Mr. Saguto! I was wondering if you have an opinion on balls? I usually just game with the cheap Noodle Easy Distance or Top Flites. Does a ball make that huge of a difference in ball flight for an ammeter golfer?! Wondering if I should spend the big $$$ or save!?
Yes they do
If you want to go the full hog and get the Pro V go ahead but I have found just finding a good mid to upper priced ball to be great
You really do notice the difference around the green
The ball does make a difference for sure, but that does not mean that you have to pay the big bucks. Golf Digest reviews balls at various price points each year. I'm sure other golf publications do the same.

What is your opinion on the Moe Norman swing? I have been golfing for about 6 months and struggling - always inconsistent - one day good, one day bad until I tried to hit like Moe - I cannot believe how far and straight I hit my driver now.
Hi Debbie,
While the Stack and Tilt swing I teach shares the single plane feature, it is definitely different from the Moe Norman version and for this reason I do not recommend crisscrossing between the two methods as it would certainly lend itself to confusion. This should not be construed as a knock against Mr. Norman's renowned ball striking prowess or the style of instruction that he inspired; it's simply that components of his swing style are not compatible with S&T. So my best suggestion to those who are weighing these two methods is to choose one or the other, but not both!

@@SagutoGolf thanks Tom, I think I'll look into it.
@SagutoGolf what happen you chest down, hands forward for wedges?
Hi Mike,
I do my best to convey different "feels" or thoughts throughout the swing wherever possible because we're all unique physiologically and psychologically, and something that resonates effectively with me may not necessarily work for you. (It's like a multiple choice test with no wrong answer!)
Beyond that, it is important to understand that the videos, lessons, and drills on this free channel - while fully aligned with the swing method I teach - address a variety of topics, issues, feels, and/or common flaws/fixes from one episode to the next. There's even a members' forum where you can ask me specific swing-related questions, interact with others in the SagutoGolf community, and suggest new content ideas, plus you'll also have access to all exclusive TH-cam paid channel members-only content at no additional charge. This will really put you on the fast track towards learning everything in a well-organized, self-guided fashion. Hey Tom,
Greatly appreciate the personal response.

Hi Tom. I wanted to ask you. Should my stance be very narrow with the weight shift? I have been using your method the last 2 times at the range. I have hit some great shots but more fat shots. I am not sure what direction to go. I was thinking maybe narrowing my stance. Maybe this will help me.
Hi Stuart,
There is no weight shift to the trail side in this swing.
Thank you Paul Rudd 🤗
LOL! My pleasure!
Hey Tom, I recently watched a video from Sam Goulden Golf called the square to square
method; club face square throughout, left shoulder initiation and he featured Steve Stricker as
a model for square to square. Is your s and t method essentially the same as his square to square ? Thanks
Hi Mike,
I am familiar with Square-to-Square, but what I teach is the Stack and Tilt method. Here is the story of my "conversion" if you are interested: th-cam.com/video/PM8lNNrMPEk/w-d-xo.html
Cheers!
Tom
@@SagutoGolf I like your teaching, it's hard to convert but will keep after it.
Thanks Tom

How would you instruct someone whos knees are shot? hard to do with limited leg movement.
Thanks for your time and feedback.
Hi Vic,
The Stack & Tilt swing is a very body-friendly method.
As a school member you'll enjoy:

All that and more for just $10 US/ month or $99/year. Here's a link if you'd like additional info: saguto.golf/p/golf-swing-simplified-tom-saguto-pga. At the very least, even if your knees are incapable of executing the full extent of their prescribed motions, you will still reap the consistency benefits of a centered swing while accessing the tremendous power source of angular momentum.
Thanks, and best of luck to you!

Does the quite hands apply to other irons?
Yes. It really applies to all clubs. I speak about this in some of the more recent episodes.

You have another video where you say you have to keep the right arm not straight but upper are into the ribs a?
Hi Gerald,
Based on your recent comments I sense that you are trying too hard to piece things together from these channel videos that jump around randomly from topic to topic and from feel to feel.
Thanks,
Tom
Tom I felt the need to report this.... went out of town To my in laws brought a couple clubs with me and just got done with a range session... The club pro there was literally next to me giving lessons teaching people to gain club speed at impact by snapping the wrists at the mat... Can you please do a video to Help people avoid bad advice..... I literally almost lost my mind when he told the kid to take the body out of it
Hi Carl,
Perhaps these might suffice?:
- th-cam.com/video/Fe2kQ44azJ4/w-d-xo.html
- th-cam.com/video/SunCR5uJ_ao/w-d-xo.html
Unfortunately, such sorcery from the dark underworld of golf instruction rarely finds its way to the mainstream because if too many folks found out about it the mainstream would then be rendered irrelevant....... 😎
Cheers!

That's sweet
Indeed Robert - sweet and crispy!!
Tom
Crispier than a crispy thing on national crispy day 👍
It don't get any crispier than that....until you use this tip and hit a golf ball with it, at which point you realize that it does... 😂😂😂

Tom, What irons are those? ✌🏻
My iron set is Titleist CB 714's - probably around 6 years old or so.

How often do you practice it, John? It just sounds like something you need to dial in.
