@johnmercer3571 yes blame sadiq Khan not any of the white prime ministers we have. Or any of his office 😂😂😂 even though this happened when the brown guy wasn't even mayor 😂😂
@@johnmercer3571 what a joke. It’s a number of things but mostly that our police have their hands ties and naturally fear being blamed racists and ending up like this man.
Great conversation. It looks like he should never have gone under that civil judge. To carry an MP5 has to come with serious consequences if you act outside of ROE. This man was doing his job. Thank you for your service Tony. Hope you gave a part 2 in you
It’s refreshing to here this kind of story form the other side. The press love to blame the Police and make out the person shot was innocent and murdered. From a blue to a blue, huge respect to Tony and those who choose to carry.
Very interesting podcast, absolutely glued to every detail of this and his story on that case is crazy. Done his job and he got such unnecessary stick. Credit to tony
Not sure why this doesn’t have as many views as others but this was a great pod, I’m a Brit and love listening to this format of podcast which there is plenty of in the US but, I have to say, Dodge you’re doing a brilliant job of getting British stories out there. Huge respect
Thanks Dodge, Reminded me of the 70/80s in Northern Ireland this, the decision when you can and can’t shoot, this case and the facts surrounding it I think he may have delayed a little longer pulling the trigger looking back however he will never admit that as he would of been found guilty by some out there. Thanks Dodge another classic interview by you and your team. 😊
Not a Fan of the plod but they have a job to do .. feel for the firearms officers tho .. if your running around thinking it’s the Wild West and your on their radar for access to firearms they will come for you .. make a wrong move and you can die .. don’t run around with these gangs and keep away from it and you’ll be fine
Couldn’t have said it better. My friend is serving 10 years for conversion of firearms. I was involved at the very start. Due to just coming back from Afghanistan. I didn’t realise how illegal firearms was. Just didn’t think they would come for a guy like me. Ex SFSG. Many many shots on target myself. A lot of doors kicked in for this country. (If you can say that anymore). If it wasn’t for my wife saying you’re being stupid. Get away. Bla bla. I stopped out of respect. 4 months later he’s taken down by terror squad and served 10 years. I get a knock from them too. Told them what my initial intentions was. They said you so lucky you never converted and just had the blank firers. Took two glock 17 blanks away from me and that was that. Very very very lucky. No matter your experience with said firearms They are still illegal. Even for someone who used them on the daily. In anger. On operations. Overseas. Keep away from all of this. No good at all. If you like guns. Go to USA and become a citizen.
I don't feel for them. As an ex squaddie I know they always shoot to kill, you could say everything happens so fast, maybe sometimes but not every incident. They shoot to kill, everytime, it pisses me off.
Thanks for the transparency. I feel your pain to a lesser extent. Mine ended my career, although I was acquitted ..... looking at years inside .... you start to question yourself. The ipcc interviews are oppressive and not pace compliant in hindsight. My heads f##ked now and im to ill to work Well done for getting your life back
Another good podcast dodge they say don’t f-k with the armed response unit cuss it’s bang bang on sight split second decisions under difficult situations like it or not these men roll straight towards the fight and meet fire with fire
I was in a court case for the first time video evidence was used in a court of law, in Scotland anyway. My interpretation, recollection of the incident was not what was on the footage but it still proved my innocence in the end.
I remember this shooting like it was yesterday. I lived no more then half a mile from the incident, It was outside rge Railway Tavern pub, which I used to go to sometimes. Great interview Dodge, no B/S,and Tony was the same, just spoke well and told us the facts.

@vinnie1350 did you listen to it, why didn't he say Pakistani men then, made it sound like Northerers can be nonces and their identity is kept quiet, frightened to say it as it is?
Unfortunately lessons don’t appear to have been learned since his time. I’m amazed they are able to keep recruiting and that cops sense of duty still pushes them to volunteer. After hearing his tale there is no way I’d ever do that job or encourage another to do it either.
Any kids thinking of getting into gangs and crime, remember if you carry a knife or gun, you cant complain if you get those weapons used on you. best way is to not get involved at all find something you are good at a skill where you can make money legitimately a trade like joiner plumber etc or even online business and you can live a decent life without looking over your shoulder
