He's thrown less Picks. than flaco and Fitzpatrick despite being older. and Less than Palmer, Eli Philip rivers and EVEN BIG BEN. all being in the league at the same time. and even Last years MVP Matt Ryan is only 1-2 picks away from matching Romo in picks.

Halfway through the season, he was made the starter but the cowboys for whatever reason never got another holder. So he was it. What hurts the most... Until then, he had never dropped a snap. Time to go drink.

  • @40judo
    @40judo 7 ปีที่แล้ว +39

    Romo was a good QB. At his peak, arguably Top 10. Yes, he didn't a SB, and he made some bonehead throws when it mattered most. But it doesn't negate a lot of the good he did. When the Cowboys needed him to throw 50 times a game was when he was at worst. 35 times a game kept the defense honest enough and that was when he was good. Yes, I can give you that he was like Danny White.... but He was also a good QB... but that is for another day...I wish Tony all the luck in his new endeavor.

    • @ivancervantes4273

      At his peak he was an all pro and robbed of an mvp even though playing half the season with two broken bones in his back. That was his final season and only season where he finally didn't have the worst oline. Because in 2015 he only played 3 and a half games and 2016 just 1 series. So at his peak he was top 1, top 2 at minimum.

    It was tremendous Getting to enjoy this team despite its failings. Emmitt was my hero starting in second grade and only player I enjoyed watching more was Tony. Hope he comes back to Dallas one day.

      Maybe, but that ball hit Crayton in the palm of his hands. It being a bit low would've prevented him from taking a huge hit...not that a defender was bringing heat on him.
      But the throw wasn't bad. It wasn't perfect, but it wasn't bad.

    I remember when Romo took over for Bledsoe and Tony immediately got a target on his back. He was simultaneously the most talked-about QB and the most hated player in football. The playoff blunder in Seattle, his relationship with Jessica Simpson and the tabloid coverage of him and Witten on vacation before the playoffs all made for reality TV-style hate and gossip. It's funny how only now do people recognize his clutch plays, gunslinger throwing style and especially his oracular commentary as a broadcaster. He was never fully appreciated until after he hung up his cleats.

  • @OutlawStarkiller

    What's funny about this is that he's lecturing Romo on getting rid of the ball, apprently he never listened lol

    • @thecensoredmuscle563
      @thecensoredmuscle563 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Romo was the greatest escape artist of all time so he was able to afford to hold on to the ball to give the receivers time to get open. If he didn't do that than cowboys would barely ever win and be top 10 pick every year. Romo had extremely terrible olines, if holding on to the ball didn't work for him than he would have averaged like 60 sacks a season.

  • @davesaenz5691
    @davesaenz5691 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Definitely the best quarterback in Dallas history. Had he been with the 90's cowboys... just think having the top 3 best defense and great O-line and coaching staff.

    Patrick Crayton, Laurent Robinson, Sam Hurd, Austin Miles are just a few WR he made look like pro bowlers. Austin and Robinson did. But when they wanted big money in Free agency they were terrible, why? because Romo made them look good. Terrance Williams and Dez. They were 1000 yd WR every year. The worst part is when he finally got an OL and a Defense he was one "No Catch" at GB from the Championship game. The next year is SB almost locked, and he gets hurt in pre season. Dez is still looking for a job, Romo made him a star.

    My Coach Sean Payton Lookin young

  • @H.O.34Dr3am
    @H.O.34Dr3am 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Let this sink in...Tony Romo only started a hand full of games having a good/great coach in Parcells, under the tutelage of Sean Peyton who has gone on to become an incredible head coach, who also unlocked the greatness of Drew Brees. Then he had: wade Phillips and Garrett. Like this guy, is the only dude I'll ever be an apologist for. An undrafted, non fbs playing football player, makes one of the most prestigious teams in all of sports. Plays behind no noteworthy players, besides bledsoe, beats him, carries the franchise through mediocre coaching. Overcomes early terrible general management decisions like: bad draft picks, underdeveloped players, below average lines, over stacked contracts (Miles Austin), little to no defense. Even with this, he has his team in position to make the playoffs, year in and year out. Performs efficiently, and explosively, has insane 4th quarter qbrs, and comebacks. Destroys his body to win games, breaks ribs, punctures lungs, wears kevlar vests just to get on the field. And when the team finally gets assets around him, some kid from Louisiana comes in and plays palpable football. Just tragic. Life did him dirty, but grand. He'll always be my quarterback, I know he never won a superbowl, played well in the playoffs but never went far, but man his journey really made me love football. The dude is a stud, and my favorite player ever. I was like 4 or 5 when Troy and Emmitt were balling out, Tony Romo is my favorite Cowboy.
