And the Espers' powers work by replacing the reality of the world with their personal reality, so the Espers' powers only work around them (the AIM field) so the Accerator needs to touch a vector to manipulate it and this manipulation has the limit of its field AIM . That's why Accelerator has only been shown to turn off the gravity around him, which wouldn't affect Touma if he's far away. While the black-winged Accelerator is no longer limited to touch BUT anyway, trapping Touma with gravity wouldn't work because IB would deny it.
