To the person reading this, Good Luck! Don't stress, everything will be fine. No matter what difficulty you are facing right now, you can overcome it! You are strong and brave.
I am a first-year student at a medical university, and now it’s difficult for me to adjust after school. But still I believe in my strength. Thank you very much for your support, man of the Internet! May everything be fine for you too!
It's been 5 years since I left University. All exams are passed, I will never write physics formulas on the blackboard again. I cherish the memories, who I was and what the world was like back at the time. To everybody studying right now: you are the best. Never lose a taste for new knowledge!
@@JstJaybeingJay@JstJaybeingJay Hey, paragraph guy here! I'm really sorry to hear about your bad experience in college, I happened to be lucky enough to be receiving an okay education in college, but I can relate to what you're saying. High school felt like a fever dream for me, I don't feel like I received anything from high school and my experience there was really bad. I even went to a specific high school because I wanted to be with my friends, now ex-friends, that was pretty much it. Now, transitioning into college i really discovered alot about myself and my own interests and pursuits. I wanted to be accepted socially but since I never was, it ended up taking a toll in my mental health so I stopped chasing the need for approval and validation. It hurt like hell to let go of certain "connections" I have tried to form for several years, but now I soley focusing on being more independent of myself and pursuing my own interests. Even if you had a bad experience in college, I'm pretty certain you got something out of it. What seems to be a failure can be someone else's lesson. 💙
During my life, nothing has caught my focus as strongly as when I was studying science. It really felt blissful... Probably akin to what people talk about: "silencing the voices," bringing you perfectly into the present moment. I talk in the past tense because now, out of college and living the work life (I'm 28 years young), I have drifted away from that passion. I really miss it. Nothing in life quite fills that hole I once filled with the awe I felt reading those books, learning awesome topics in class. I have made the promise to myself to reclaim that. I thought for a while that there was no more time for that, needing to focus on other things that came into my life-focusing on being practical and less of a dreamer. But now, it has become clear to me that a person needs something that makes them feel that way, no matter if it becomes useful or not. It's a way of reclaiming power over your life-a way to say, "Forget this, I am just going to enjoy myself, no matter the goal." It will swiftly change your perspective towards life, making you braver, more confident, more empowered. I will embark on this journey from this day onwards. I hope many people will read this and get inspired to do the same and walk with me on this journey. It doesn't have to be science that you follow, of course, but it has to be something that fills you completely. Let's rebel against conformity and practicality. Let's be messy with our growth-spontaneous, unclear, but with sheer strength and determination to enjoy life just for the heck of it.
Don`t let this sometimes cruel some world knock you down and forget what truly makes you happy. In this tiny act of reclaiming what was once ours i truly believe we are doing not something egoistical but rather we do it for the sake of the society as a whole. Because if we all did a little bit more of what we loved doing before the world told us who we need to be we would have much less troubles in this world. I think saving the world is not a huge act done by huge people but miniscule things done by very ordinary people like you. We will never meet yet i hope from the depths of my heart you will find that spark you lost some time ago.
As long as we live, we dream, brother. I feel the same, "silencing the voices" sometimes is a pretty accurate term, been on low lately and moments like this one really makes me put everything in perspective and dream again. sincerely hope you can thrive in this road again.
I started studying Computer Science, burnt out in a few months, then moved on to studying Psychology. I initially saw it as a failure, but now I see the bigger picture. I would love to pick up CompSci again after my bachelor in Psychology - I love studying and I like having multiple interests (plus, I can afford it, since I am an adult). I think what I'm studying now should be common knowledge, and I love being able to understand myself and others better. I think tech and psychology combined together would be of help to many people, especially neurodiverse ones. I hope I get to improve life of others even in the smallest bit, in the near future.
I agree, psychology or atleast the perspective of tracing cerebral ideation should be included in essential topics of study in each subject, especially in basic courses and orientations. I found this line of thought appealing after watching the "Behavioural Biology", it's a spectrum of phenomenon explained Dr.Robert Saplovsky at Harvard (It's a Recorded lecture series). Unfortunately most of educational institutions prefer to play conservative at the cost of redundancy rather than adopting an open view at the risk of covering parts of fundamentals repeatedly, even in different contexts.
