As an Illinois guy, I mean it when I say, Izzo is the man. Say it how it is, equal opportunity reprimand, and he was correct it happened with all three heavier opponents this year Michigan had this year. And the wise man said, “Adults had the opportunity to prevent this from happening.” That dude has discernment and State fans should be happy with their coach. Well stated

Funny, Tom, how the cops didn’t see it that way when they watched the film. What a degenerate coaching staff to have no expectation of your student athletes other than felonious assault. Somehow Michigan is never at fault…..right. So Ohio State last year, Penn State, Mich State and Illinois this year. Even my Wolverine faithful friends and family are wondering how it’s always someone else’s fault, and I never thought I would hear them say that.

Typical whiny ass comment from Izzo. I noticed nothing was said about the Michigan State director of football running from incident in the tunnel where the Michigan player was being beaten over the head with a helmet. You are a POS Izzo.
I agree with a lot of the points Coach Izzo made. don’t condone the actions of the MSU players involved nor does Coach Tucker, hence why they were swiftly suspended. all players but Khary Crump have now been reinstated, but still a bad look for MSU. however, those who have continually made remarks about the program being full of “thugs” are some of the most ignorant people. MSU isn’t perfect, but it’s not like there’s a lengthy history of having altercations like the one that transpired in that tunnel. furthermore, it’s clear that both parties were at fault, as UM wouldn’t have been reprimanded had they done nothing wrong.
Dude is seriously rationalizing a group of players assaulting an opposing team player. Tunnel management could be improved, I suppose. But an opposing player trotting by shouldn't prompt an attack. Instead of complaining about favortism to Michigan, take a hard look in the mirror.
There is no B, without A. That Mich player, his family and the university have no accountability. He shouldn't have been there, period. And I'm he was being a polite young gentleman, right.

Every college game, EVERYWHERE, they meander their way after the clock is all zeros to their respective locker rooms, respectfully. Except at Michigan. There, some UofM players don't follow directions and try to stir the pot with the opposing team. It happened against OSU (multiple times), it happened this year against PSU and well, this time they got smacked back. They didn't like it so they cried to the police and the B1G. The people in charge of EVERYONE'S safety while at the stadium?!! I doubt the owner of a theater that burns down, kills 20, and had well known fire code violations would just get a slap on the wrist. Those 8 MSU players did wrong and they have/are being punished. Where's Michigan's punishment?
Tucker got a 100K bonus that was intended to be split with his coaching staff that he kept entirely for himself. That should pay for the fine if he wants to man up for it and take accountability for his players and school. But yet no one including Izzo is talking about that money it's all hush hush
Thanks, Coach, perfectly said and as always you are the best possible representative of both Michigan State University as well as the Big Ten Conference.

I agree with how he put it. There is never an excuse for violence. I approve of the suspensions and wanted them. I want my school's athletes to be impervious to low-class programs that seek to provoke altercations. I want them to be affirmatively dedicated to peace. I want them to turn the other cheek. But there is also no excuse for a Big Ten team to be a program that has repeatedly attempted to instigate violence both on the field and in the tunnel. The Big Ten reprimand is insufficient. They need to be stepping in and demanding that U of M change its policies so this can't keep happening.

Lurking in the tunnel with a big UM mouth. The games that are played away from the game.
In one of the videos there were multiple police officers standing there who did nothing. I'm not going to speak on the fine, but if there were charges brought against the players the police who stood by and did nothing need to be investigated too.
This guy was right on all counts. There should have been equal treatment for both Michigan and MSU. And it is disgusting how actual grownups can’t make the right decision and change the protocol for that type of thing after two incidents already with Michigan
This guy is a moron. And I never thought so for all these years till I saw this video. What a disappointment. Love Tom and think he's been great but he's wrong on this one..instead of worrying about what the other team got, he's not looking at the lesson to be taught our men. I have a son and when we minimize what our kids do, the lesson you teach is ,1 they can get away with anything 2 you will defend them even when wrong. .I sure that's not how he raised his kids and it's not the lesson I would like him to teach my son. I am surprised at Tom's reaction.
He was at pains throughout his comments to ensure he wasn't minimizing any of the awful behavior of the MSU players and he called it out as such. He was asked to comment on the 100K fine, and his questions are valid. No idea how you walked away from that thinking he's a bad example for your kids.

The tunnel incident rest squarely in the laps of the Administration of the University of Michigan. This was a well known problem and the players should are being scapegoated by the NCAA! This is disgusting!
If I had to guess I would say that he knows a lot more about the situation than you do. But of course he’s the ignorant one because you disagree with him
one of the first things that he said, " if the management had been handled right then the second thing wouldn't have happened." That's a man who needs to grow th F up and take responsibilt for the actions of his team. i can't respect someone who is constantly trying to pass the blame of what his guys did off onto others. I'm not saying that the MI players are completely innocent. Even though social media is trying to make it seem that way. so & so was just trying to get to the locker sooner so he could go see his dad ec etc. maybe that was the case. But i can almos guarantee you he was probably doing some smack talking along the way as was the other guy. However, what the MSU players did to the MI players is unacceptable for ANY reason. Seriously, a helmet to the head, gang beating for smack talking, does that sound reasonable? It's simple, if a MI player HAS to go to their locker before the rest of the team, for any reason whether be a personal or medical reason, simply have them escorted. That being said even as a MI fan i do NOT feel that MSU should be fined at all. From what i understand, and i could be wrong., but as soon as you walk inside the tunnel, the rules of football no longer apply, and the law of the land is in affect. Which is why when there is a tussle out on the field there isn't any charges filed for assault. Which brings to the point that MSU is no longer responsible for the actions of their players. That doesn't mean that their actions can't be punishable by school rules, suspensions, kicked off, loss of scholarships, etc. for example a player gets a dui. he may be suspended, but the big ten doesn't step in and fine the team. they let the school handle it as they see fit.

So, if I rob a store and beat the attendant behind the counter, we should also blame the store for my actions; that's how ridiculous Izzo's sounds......
Saying “what the players did was wrong but this could’ve been prevented by security” is not the same as trying to duck responsibility
Well stated
So the players, all of whom are 18+, didn’t know it was wrong to hit the other player in the face with a helmet or kick the other guy 5 on 1 without being told? That’s your position? Funny, Tom, how the cops didn’t see it that way when they watched the film.
What a degenerate coaching staff to have no expectation of your student athletes other than felonious assault. In other words, we can’t expect our football players to behave like law abiding citizens without “tunnel management.”
Pathetic.
@@danielchester7974 Oh ef YOU! Don't come here and act all holier than thou! It was the UM players who started the entire thing by skipping into that tunnel and talking smack! Those um players were nothing but classless, thug scUM and they got EXACTLY what they deserved. Pathetic is right!
And Coach Bielema and Illinois ALSO had an issue with the tunnel. That's four opposing teams that had a problem in the UMAA tunnel within the past 12 months. UMAA has its collective heads buried in the sand and Warde Manuel is a joke.
@@keithzastrow So answer this. When the Spartan players taunted the Michigan players last year on and off the field why didn’t the Michigan players respond with felonious assault?

What do all those schools have in common…..hmm…..they all lost those games to a better team….

It’s really an insult to your own players that you treat them like animals that can’t be expected to behave without being leashed and herded. But sure, it’s the tunnel’s fault. They’ve been playing games there for 95 years, hundreds of games, but now, when Spartans get their teeth kicked in, it’s a problem. Maybe the Michigan State coaches can establish a culture where you take your a$$ whoopin’ like men and commit to working harder and playing better next time, like the Michigan players did last year at East Lansing.

So what exactly is MSU getting ding'd 100k for?! It's not like everyone lines up single file and is led by the coaches from the field to the locker room. The guy swinging the helmet is properly charged. The others?! I don't think so. And now this fine?!! With nothing but the stink eye toward Michigan?!
Izzo is the GOAT! He speaking the unspoken TRUTH.
Tucker got a 100K bonus that was intended to be split with his coaching staff that he kept entirely for himself. That should pay for the fine if he wants to man up for it and take accountability for his players and school. But yet no one including Izzo is talking about that money it's all hush hush

They need to be stepping in and demanding that U of M change its policies so this can't keep happening.

one of the first things that he said, " if the management had been handled right then the second thing wouldn't have happened." That's a man who needs to grow th F up and take responsibilt for the actions of his team. i can't respect someone who is constantly trying to pass the blame of what his guys did off onto others.
