It's fascinating to see how these two masters play with a very simple premise. Chaplin's performance is like a dance, with each dancer timing their moves with precision. Keaton on the other hand is pure physicality and bottled chaos, but equally as precise. Keaton's ability to take any moment of the routine and go in completely the opposite direction of what would be expected is certainly more noticeable than Chaplin's, but Chaplin played with the audience's expectations by subverting moments but inevitably leading to the outcome one is expecting. Neither one is better or worse than the other; both are masterful in their planning and execution.
I agree with you. They are true artists that perform on different levels within their genre. Each had his own unique style and are entertaining in their niche. I enjoy what they both bring to the table. Neither one could do what the other did. It's like comparing in dancing Gene Kelly to Fred Astaire, or the Nicholas Brothers. Can you imagine if we had TH-cam at his time how many like he was gonna get but anyway I know the old generation will still love him forever just like me
Both men were incredibly funny, but at least Chaplin smiled. Keaton seemed to have a problem with it but that was just his style.
If I went through what he went through as a child I wouldn’t smile either
Keaton wasn't allowed to smile in public by contract with his studio. 😞
Keaton had to redo scenes because he laughed too much ! explained his co-star Bartine Burkett : "He laughed at everything very easily and it was hard for him to be so solemn, you know".(th-cam.com/video/-qB-lZZhubM/w-d-xo.html) He used the frozen face as a trademark.
I love this film so much always makes me lough 😂😂😂😂😂💐💐💐😂💐😂😂👍🏽👍🏽❤️
Classic !! Buster was a STUD !! I love them both but see some of Keaton's stunts and you will understand, the man was running an 11 flat 100 /yards in 1915 on dirt !!
Chaplin is phenomenal. I was crying with laughter

3:05 Superman
Nice
Geniales ambos!!!!
After so many years of these videos but still funny may their souls continue resting in peace 😢 kings
