Kinda think Blitz is like a dire imp and I think dire imps you could class as stronger than humans and a threat to some sinners but I think most imps seem to be faster and have better reflexes than humans, I think even though they're bellow sinners give em the right tools and skills they'll f up a lot of hellions like Charlies peoples vs heaven, but yeah, they're basically the humans of hell, born, age and die.

You should watch the pilot of this series, some voice actors change and most things are no longer canon but it's still hilarious and a good introduction to the series.
The pilot is a lot of fun even if it's optional and some things have been changed. It's got two very catchy songs, several reactors have said it helped them understand what's going on with the magic book situation, and there's a key callback to it in a later episode. I'm puzzled that some fans say to skip it.
No Luke, you are NOT ready for this...but not in the way you think. You're going to love this series, it's what Hazbin would have been without network execs going "mmmnooo...that's too violent, this is too risque, it's too long, use another voice actor, change the story a bit." Now you just need to react to Murder Drones as well, and you will have covered the two best shows on TH-cam!
@@boffgirl Or what I.M.P. even stands for. I'm pretty sure it wasn't mentioned even once, outside the pilot, which is weird. Also the pilot seems more canon to me than this episode. Millie losing a close combat fight to some random living guy, armed with a bottle and goes down in a single hit? oO The hell?
Basic info that's never really fully stated in the show as far as I can remember: 1. The Imps, the hellhounds and so on are what is called Hellborn (more like lesser hellborn). Like Charlie in Hazbin they were born in hell. Unlike Charlie they are not all that powerful and can die to regular means rather than requiring angelic weapons. And unlike the Sinners they do not respawn if killed by mundane means. 2. All of Hazbin Hotel takes place on the Pride ring of Hell, that's where all the human souls go and they can't leave that ring. Helluva Boss takes place in many of the other Rings too, but the office is located in Pride so that human sinners can hire them. 3. Other than the lower hellborn there are also the Goetia demons, the ruling class of Hell, or more like demon nobility. These demons are more akin to Lucifer and Charlie, in that they can only be killed by angelic steel. There are also the rulers of each ring of hell who share that protection. 4. The show only gets better with each episode, so you're in for one HELL of a ride :D
Helluva Boss takes place from the perspective of demons born in Hell, while Hazbin focuses on sinners. The Imps (Millie, Moxxie, and Blitz), the Hellhounds (Loona), and the Ars Goetia Demons (Stolas), are demons born and raised in Hell.
Naw, I don't wanna wait a week only to get the pilot. The pilot isn't cannon, isn't as high quality, doesn't have some of the voice actors and isn't as long. I would rather you just continue the series. Btw I'm not crapping on the series it is s tier
just so you know the majority of characters in helluva boss are born in hell rather than being human and coming to hell after they died. Blitz, Moxie, and Millie are called Imps (all the characters with black and white striped horns) which is like the lowest form of hell born demons as well as luna who is a hellhound (Charlie from Hazbin would be the highest Hellborn creature as the daughter of lucifer since lucifer is technically from heaven). They are hired by sinners who were the humans and came to hell, to get revenge on people still on earth.
okay, just dropping my thoughts: 1. watching the pilot ISN'T that necessary (others pointed out how some things differ from the main canon; think of it as a proof of concept) 2. The unhinged nature of a good chunk of this series? If you've seen Brandon Rogers' work, you can probably chalk it up to that.
Yay I’m so excited for these reactions! And as far as the “story” of the series, it actually becomes more character based and heartfelt starting with the next episode. 🦉 🤗
You were supposed to watch the pilot episode before this one which would have given you more context for the show. Also, I recommend you to watch the ending song of the episode or atleast the ones of the pilot episode (it also has a separate animated and colored video) and the 3rd episode (it's a cool and funny song, make sure to listen to the lyrics, I am sure you will like it).
I have been waiting for this for awhile my guy and yes it is way crazier then Hazbin, HOWEVER it does have a deeply emotional story underneath all the raunchiness
So, if you rememeber in HH, Lute briefly talked about how Charlie "and her hellborn kind" were exempt from the extermination. _This_ is (partly) said hellborn kind. Imps, Hellhounds, succubi, they are all originally born in hell, they were never human. They also appear to have normal human-ish lifespans and when they die, they do not 'respawn' the way sinners do.
Heads up, it is beneficial to read all the background things. There is a lot of world lore and building in the environment and background information that isn't spelled out in the show. This show does a great job with subtle storytelling. What characters say may be less important than their actual actions. For example, Stolas blushing when he's talking about his proposal. Or seeing the off decorations in the dinning room foreshadowing they are cannibals. The wheelchair with the ashes is referencing Texas Chainsaw Massacre's grandpa who was basically dead at the table (I know he wasn't but he comes off as such). Even the kids' hair color in the episode is hinting that they have different fathers as you saw her cheating with the guy from the montage.
I would suggest you skip the Pilot, it might just end up confusing you. The only extra thing I'd say you have to watch is the music video "Look My Way" which is canon. But that's not until after episode 7 of Season 2. There's also some shorts being posted recently that might be fun to watch when you're caught up, they add some extra character to the main cast or are just bonkers.
Fair warning, you will be just as unprepared for episode 2 :) What Moxxie runs past in the forest near the end is Blitz's dropped cellphone. Stolas is _still_ talking about his sex fantasies. Alas, Moxxie was unfamiliar with the way American cops handle situations. It's difficult to believe this show becomes more emotionally touching than Hazbin, but it does.
Enjoy the ride. Helluva Boss starts weird and continues weird - but man, those characters will grow on you. They have so much depth. Even if you can't see it now, it will get very emotional - you will love it, I just know it. :)
The pilot is no longer canon, but it does set up what I.M.P does and how Blitzo got the book which is canon. This show does have a story believe it or not.
10:42 I mean, I've known some Louisiana swamp folk from the depths of the bayous that wouldn't surprise me to find out were off on some Ed Gein shit. The type of people that have an accent so thick that you don't wonder what they said, so much as whether there were any *words* in there, from places that if you hear banjos, you *run*.
There is a pilot episode to Helluva Boss which is semi canonical. I've heard it's not canon, but there are details that get referenced in later episodes. The really big difference is simply different voice actors for Stolas and Millie.
The pilot is hilarious, and while yeah it's not technically canon anymore, but it still aligns entirely with the show? So I personally find it weird Viv denounces it so lol
Episode 0, the pilot answers alot of questions as to the traveling between earth and hell, and the I.M.P. business and some of the interactions between the other characters
I might be one of a few here, but this series fell off for me like halfway through, a shame it replaces literally anything else that could have taken its place on the channel
Helluva Boss is different than Hazbin Hotel in the sense that focuses more on character and relationship development than plot. Not to mention the show puts the hellborn demons (demons born in Hell, like Charlie) under the spotlight. With hellborns, we have the royals (Charlie, the Deadly Sins and the Ars Goetia) who are as immortal as Sinners; and the regular hellborns who are the commoners and are as mortal as normal human beings. Helluva Boss also explores Hell to a greater detail, being socially (the actual hierarchy in Hell) or physically, like the fact Hell is made of seven rings named after the Deadly Sins. Since Sinners cannot leave the Pride Ring, Helluva Boss shows the other rings, despite the fact it still takes place mostly on Pride.
