have you heard the young very talented player domnic herbert? he is a VERY high standard player but at the age of twelve not at the level of derek or david yet but exspect big things in the future, if you are in the salvaton army you might no his dad major mark herbert
Awesome euph playing from a true virtuoso. It must be a little frustrating for someone to get so good on an instrument which has a relatively narrow scope i.e. mainly Brass band and Wind band. I guess that's why many also major on Trombone to enable playing in Orchestras, jazz ensembles etc. etc.
lolz, read upper lines euphgirl ;D THEY AINT! its personal.. i think adem frey is better then derick kane, and maybe you totally disagree.. and btw, david childs has a very nice tone indeed. stevens tone is more for wind orchestrys. loud and sharp. david is more dark and uhmm how to say that in english.. abit echo like ;p
oh, and linkola isnt good? what are you talking about, there isnt a top 3 or something wich you can decide. there are so many good euph players. this childs and mead are just the most known cuz of theyr publicity and skills ofcourse, no doubt, they belong to the top. but i dont think you can say that they are the best
No he ain't. Trust me on this one mate, I've been listening to both guys play for years - David Childs is better. He's one of the best Army players though - I'd say him and Aaron VanderWeele are tied for number 1 right now.
Great player and one of the nicest guys one could meet. Bravo, Derick!
Excellent as usual from derick kane
Fantastic!
great job you have a very nice sound
yeah this guy is pretty insanely good ha!
A guy by the name of Dallas Rant is a pretty incredible Euphonium player. I'd put him up with this guy any day.
i agree... i doesnt really matter who's the best right now.. all i care is that steven mean, david childs and derick kane are top 3 euphonium players
Mestre
unfortunate in our comments we have to compare euphonium soloists and who is the best in stead of just complementing Derick on a great performance
I completely agree, Justine. This performance was brilliant, and the guy concerned is also very good.

It was invented too late to get any love from the “great” orchestral composers. It definitely would have.
