George Galloway anger at Margaret Thatcher funeral and cancelling PMQs

  • "Respect MP George Galloway has criticised plans to cancel Wednesday's PMQs and Parliamentary business in the morning, that would take place at the same time as Lady Thatcher's funeral.
He complained about the "£10m on the canonisation of this wicked woman", after last week's recall of Parliament for what he said was a "totally unnecessary fawning over this woman".
The Respect MP said the country had been forced to listen to a "tidal wave of guff", especially from the BBC, and it was "absurd" to compare Lady Thatcher to Winston Churchill.
He told Jo Coburn - and her panel of Conservative Cheryl Gillan, Labour's Tessa Jowell and Lib Dem Sir Menzies Campbell - that people in Britain were "very angry" about the media coverage of the former prime minister's death and funeral."

It's part of the link between neoliberalism and fascism. One of the core components of fascism is a cult of personality; and neoliberals have built these cults around Thatcher and Reagan. We're not allowed to criticize them simply because they were political leaders; never mind the fact that no other political leader gets the same consideration.

Galloway is magnificent, and the BBC is nothing but a mouthpiece for the Conservatives. My understanding is, In the UK, you pretty much have to be from the upper classes to be a journalist. They just won’t hire people with the wrong accent. So you’d have to be a “toff,” and toffs are usually Tories, or you don’t get a foot in the door. That’s how you get news show hosts like this woman, who is more offended by the rejoicing of working people celebrating the death of a Prime Minister who destroyed their lives, than she is by the hardship and poverty Thatcher caused. Indeed, the host showed no interest in hearing about the plight of miners. She just said Yes, yes, without really responding.

As a non-Brit who only learned the true extent of Thatcher's outright evil (I am normally hesitant to use the word, but in her case I see it as justified) I was very annoyed by the establishment's celebration of her after her death. It shows who kept profiting from her policies and who were and still are in debt to her and her successor Tony B. Liar.

I reject the late Tessa Jowell's "didn't approve of Thatcher at the time" narrative. When Thatcher was PM, Labour still had left-wing tendencies as would continue until Neocon Blair reversed its values, and Jowell decided that fame and status were more important than principle. Fast forward a few years and the only Tessa Jowell people knew in 2013 was the former Culture Secretary for Blair and to a lesser degree the Paymaster General for Brown (i.e. new Labour). So why in 2013 would Jowell have been anti-Thatcher? Although Corbyn and some Labour figures try as hard as they can to restore the left-wing values and bring these into the 21st century, his party continues to be infected with fifth columnists in the shape of ex-Blairites who would rather Thatcher than their own party in the present paradigm.

Also is it just me, or does George Galloway (who I sometimes strongly agree with and sometimes strongly disagree with) completely destroy Jo Coburn everytime she interviews him on the BBC. I've seen videos over 4-5 of his appearances on the Daily / Sunday Politics, and he has always wiped the floor with her.
I actually enjoy it when a politician / interviewee turns the tables and destroys an overly hostile and / or incompetent interviewer, like when that Plaid Cymru economist famously obliterated Paxman. Coburn is completely out of her depth, and nowhere near intelligent or sharp enough to engage in a verbal battle with Galloway.

Oldglen Sea I asked this question because as you know it's not very easy to find the truth in a simple way. That's why I commented on your statement due to interest. The only thing I heard about Chamberlain was that he was a cowerd. That's why I asked you if it's true. Can you provide with some sources about this matter because I want to know the full story and truth. Thanks.

Yet again, you have to be a perfect human being to go against the status quo, on the BBC
