Hi friend!! Welcome to my disaster! LOL This is what used to be my craft room! it became a huge storage room and now it is time to declutter and organize!!

I feel your pain I had 7 back to back surgeries so Ive been laid up and my husband and I are odd couple I have odc I can't function in mess , I e only had 2 days of physical therapy on month cause hurts to bad but while I was laid up , my daughter whose 9 will be 10 in September wanted to clean her room dad was supposed to help he threw everything on her bed , my craft room, office and photography studio got turned into storage junk rooms as well as a 40yr old man tearing up our bedroom not just his side that I let go till drives me nuts amd clean it even our living room is cluttered with my daughters toys , ive sit here laid up for months watching and nothong could do about it, now im in throw everything away mode, but as a crafter its hard cause u find a project in everything, but its depressing and i cant really get any help bevause im perfectionist with ocd , so im starting a new typr physical therapy called cleaning spree , it. Just hurts a lot but I can't stand to see it anymore I don't even wanna be in my house because of it makes me physically sick to see, I go down 5 months and this happens, ugh and my husband goes to work when he wants to bit comes home nothing out him stays in garage.. idk if anyone religious but pray for me to get strength to get it all back to not a thing out of place and still have time to spend time with my daughter this summer it's been really bad here since 2022 when everyone started dying off I just lost another aunt last week. But I'm doing somewhat what your doing I'm toting up everything, setting up furniture then start over tote by tote , and that's my plan for everywhere for house.. so if u have any ideas please tell me , everyone afraid of me hurting myself but I can't take it any more
I completely understand! It's amazing how fast things can pile up. Prayers for fast healing! I always try to tell myself it's going to take time but you will get there! I think the idea of putting everything in totes is good and then you can pull a tote out when you have time and just go through that one tote. Even if you just do 10 minutes a day it will definitely start to make a difference. I will work on my mess for a little bit and then when I start to fill overwhelmed I just walk away from it and come back the next day and I feel much better. Maybe even in the evening you and your daughter could sit down. Watch a movie, pull out a tote and go through it together. Hang in there, you will get there! You've got this❤️. Also, I found these giant storage bags on Amazon that are heavy duty and they come 10 to a pack and they hold a lot of stuff I've noticed the plastic totes are getting kind of pricey so I like these as a second option

First, I love that you have a great yard to sort your goodies.
Yes!! it really helps to be able to just pull everything out of the space and sort it all out so that I can really get in the space and give it a good cleaning and then put only back in what is necessary

I definitely couldn't have done it without helpers! I knew it would take time so I tried not to stress out about getting it all done at once
My craft room is similar. My problem is that its a shed outside and we live in Australia so i know theres red back spiders in there. Ive seen them. They build their messy webs as booby traps either along the floor around shin height or yes, eye level from one end of the room to the other. So fun 😂

Oh my goodness! I am so terrified of spiders!! Be careful!! Put an exterminator come in and spray before you started pulling things out maybe? I Don't think that we have those kinds here in the USA, but we do have black widow and brown recluse.Be safe❤️

first, thank you for letting us see a real house with a real need for transformation. i think it's safe to say that most people have a catch all room like yours in their homes.
i believe craft rooms are the most challenging rooms to organize.
Aw your welcome! Yes, I try to be transparent and show the real mess here! It was definitely a huge project but so satisfying in the end. I agree craft rooms are really hard to organize because there's just so many odds and ends and little things!
@@HomeSweetHomewithLaura my job this summer has been to clear the craft room. it has been agonizing. i love everything, the supplies are expensive and i feel sad to let go of the feeling of it being a waste to not complete my goals. but, i am overwhelmed and anxious so often that i don't use any of it. it's also hard to live healthy when the house is cluttered. thank you!
