Thanks again for reminding us of these simple basics. Sometimes I wake up, and I'm just a weak reg; I need to walk away from the PC and re-assess my mentality 🙂
I went to the comment section just to find this comment, its crazy, when I was starting to play poker I saw a couple of videos and they are good, but after that I can't believe these are still new uploads of the exact same videos over and over
Hello Nathan I just Wanna thank you all the great strategies and content you uploaded on here.. I just bought you book and I started reading it... but everything make sense and now I can see why I was losing at poker.. now I took your advice and I win 8at of 10... thanks to you my friend.. I can't thank you enough.... soon I'm going to join your university...
I hate going all in with AKo preflop. You're trying to draw a straight or 2x K if you're up against AA(which you are a lot if someone calls your all in). I call 3bets with AKo, and only 4bet with AKs to add the flush draw.
This is horrible. If anything you should be looking to call with AKs and 3/4-bet with AKo. Yes sometimes you will be up against AA but even the chances of being op against another AK is bigger
@@stijnderksen1837 Always 3betting AKo. I'm talking specifically about facing a 3bet holding AKo. I don't understand why you'd call with AKs and raise AKo(the hand with less draws) unless it's for fold equity(and I have never seen someone at micros fold a 3bet to a 4bet preflop, it's always either a call or all in). It could be confirmation bias, but I always seem to be up against JJ or better with these hands. Being up against another AK means high chance of chop, which is just losing money to rake most of the time unless there's dead money preflop.
@@nephandis this is assuming people would fold out any AQ or KQ and when they did happen to have TT or JJ they are now in a tough spot, might even throw their hand away which is great and if they do call, you have a coinflip. Only 6 combo's of AA have you crushed. Against everything else you are a favorite or have great equity.
@@stijnderksen1837 that's fair, just seems like I always run into ATo or KQo when I go all in with aces and JJ+ with AKo, likely just confirmation bias affecting my play or just not being aggressive enough with AKo to see the results over time. Appreciate the response. :)
Hey Nathan, I have been following and studying your vids and cheat sheet for some time now(U are essentially my poker teacher at this point). As a more experienced player I had 2 questions. 1 you say to Cbet 50%-75% of pot like in what sort of position would you want to bet less or more. Along the same vein generally speaking if I have a weaker draw for example should I be inclined to bet a higher cbet or lower cbet as I want to get him off his had but at the same time if I get called down I don’t want to trap myself in a massive pot. Let me know!
I lost few small pots today in a row in my local 2/5 game. So I started tilting and opened 36s from middle position, made it 6X bb. The villain called. Flop comes 653 two spades. The villain from BB checks, I make it 35$, he raises me to 105$. I just called. The turn is a J of diamonds. He goes all in for 500$. I snapped him off. The river is 9 of diamonds and he shows AA 😂😂😂 I guess he got punished for slow playing Aces even against 1 guy. And the moral of all this is that even if you start tilting, you can still win big pots with aggression, especially against the fish
I guess that would depend how many opponents there are, and what their playing style is. I play online, so honestly, most other players aren't paying enough attention to be hooked in this manner.
@@SixBadges I agree. At low stakes, people are just looking at their cards and making decisions. So, strategy like check raising isn't likely to drive them off of a pocket hand that has an Ace. So many newbies believe any hand with an Ace has to be a strong hand. I even had a guy state the 72 wins all the time. That's a player I always target as he has no clue.
Have you tried any of these 9 beginner poker tips? Also, here is how I read their hand every single time: th-cam.com/video/DFJctoILDWQ/w-d-xo.html

@@pedrosuarez8646literally hundreds of the same video 😂
If everything is the same to you, that means you don't pay attention to the video. Every each video has something new valuable information.
And yet, here you are. Nice home goal.

Open in position is fine but if people don't like 3beting with hands that have you crushed and you don't know where you are with kt and you flop top
#6 says not to limp in, but isn’t there some merit to limping in with a strong hand to check raise?

same thing every video, never play (to show that he is terrible), never show results (only results from 15 years ago), etc
Interesting viewpoint. Lots of other people seem to enjoy my videos though.
