According to Steam, I’ve played ONI for 70 hrs, and in the hour it took me to watch episodes 1-4, I’ve learned so much more than my 70 (frustrating, on-again-off-again) hours. I’m finally enjoying the game and learning how to play. Thank you thank you thank you❤
This is a fantastic series for new players, as had been said multiple times. This game is extremely overwhelming and intimidating when first booting up and looking at, but the way you've broken it down to get to this point, where your colony is "sustainable", and the charge you've made of having us attempt to get to this point on multiple colonies, I think is fantastic. You truly are a great teacher!
Catalina is glowing. Not normally an issue but she's in the barracks with the others and on the same schedule as at least one other, keeping that other dupe up at night. I do not remember if you have covered the issue of segregating dupes during sleep time (due to status effects and negative traits ), but she is a good example of a sleep cycle problem that needs solving. Thanks for the intro series!
loving the series side note about ladders for flooring when digging at 20:25 your dupes can still get themselves trapped to further minimize the chances you can make the priority for the ladders higher than the digging that way when the ladder is revealed a dupe will make the ladder.
I've been wanting to get into this game for so long now, and found your videos -- I realized they were so recent, which is amazing! Slower paced, but extremely helpful!
I've played this game off and on for years....I like the game a lot, but never got into the weeks with it. I usually stop around 100 cycles. This guide has brought to light a lot of new things for me and inspired me to play again. Great series and you do a good job of explaining everything.
I always leave at least 1 Dupe with no personal priority's in the early game. This means i know the normal tasks should get done and they will also respond to changes i make to global priority's.
It would be good to note that you're using a zoom out mod to make things easier to see, and it's good to open at least 2 tiles, otherwise the carbon dioxide can sit in the shaft and block the oxygen
The priority order is incorrect. There is no left to right order. building and digging is the same priority, no matter is "proximity mode" is turned on/off in the settings of the priority screen (if that mode is turned off, farming has an higher priority than cooking, otherwise they are equal)
I am so glad you explained the priority bars, I had no idea it went from left to right. So many duplicants doing things I didn't want them to do yet. Thanks Echo.
The bars are not from the left tot right, by default, errants such as farming are done before cooking, digging and building are done at the same priority level. (the game developers have made an hidden list of orders that do not match the priority screen) It can be turned of by the settings butotn on the top right, which makes the distance the only order
Hi! Thanks for these tutorials! I would like to ask 2 questions: 1) in the long run, can you have selfsustainable colony? 2) how can I remove/delete my experimental colonies in the starting menu? Thanks!
Its so weird hearing all the thought we put into the early game, when any of use long-term players blitz thur this part of the game at max speed less than 30 mins. its strange to think about all the math we have internalized lol
You do this constantly all day every day... You might not think you are good at vector math but every time you cross a road your brain instantly performs such calculations to determine whether it is safe to cross. The human brain is incredible!

Don't forget about the radiation, but it's not big of a problem unless we are on max difficulty for it
It is a lesson I am planning on later.
NAHHHH JIT WANTS SEGREGATION BACK THATS CRAZY (joke)

Lovely series and introduction to the game. Thanks so much Echo!
Thank you and welcome.
These are great. Thanks for the time and effort.
Thanks for showing the agriculture bit! I kept focusing on cooking, but I should’ve focused on sustainability first !!
12:56 I'm not sure what Little Echo was doing here but I think he got tangled in adding machine paper when he was calculating the food🙂
Ok ill follow the recommendation of getting started. Tomorrow its 1am here and enjoying the show.

Do a new Tutorial about new Pokeshell
Like Oakshell with Ethanol Destiller?
RIDGE RIDGe RIDge RIdge Ridge ridge....
How do you zoom out so far? I’ve not been able to find this setting. Is it a DLC thing? Or a mod thing? I really want to be able to zoom out more lol.
Poor poor Catalina!
Hi, so do you just stay clear of the Microbe Musher? You don't seem to talk about it at all
Poor Catalina
Best tutorial ever.
I just started playing with about 60 plus cycles and I would just like to say that compared to your play through mine looks like absolute sht 😂
You have to start somewhere!

Speed is accurately labeled as that first setting is slow as molasses medium would be normal speed
If medium is normal, why do they run around like they are on crack?
