I've been toying with the idea recently that Celestia makes Visions from the remains of the Primorgial One and/or its shades. Delusions using lesser gods would explain why they aren't as stable.

I've actually had a similar theory with the god in particular they took from the thousand armed hundred eyed god which is why there are many vision weilders and also why they would be called eye of god and raiden putting them on the statue would symbolize her returning it's eyes back something like that along with what uve said but this theory still needs some work

Is there any explanation in either the manga or the game as to how Diluc managed to use a Delusion for years without suffering even one grey hair or wrinkle? If my memory serves me, he temporarily surrendered his Vision when he told the Knights to kiss his ass, and then went off being the Punisher for a few years armed only with the very Delusion that killed his father. If grief, survivor's guilt, and major depression are all it takes to survive a Delusion, then I want a Dendro Delusion right now to grow my own medicinal herbs. I'm sure it's not that simple, of course, but Diluc is such an anomaly in this aspect.

It's because he's Batman! Seriously though, I think that some people are more suited to using Delusions than others though it would also depend on the type of Delusion, then again there's only one Diluc and there's a dime a dozen Teppei faces.
Like you said grief And all the negative feelings he had probably made it safe for him to use delusions. I don't know much on the lore of genshin..but one thing I am pretty sure about (thanks to watching videos like Aster's) is as long as you have a strong drive for revenge and other negative emotions, delusions seem to not backfire. But once that drive and negative emotions are greatly quelled or dissaper..then that's when the delusion back fires and you get a bunch of negative side effects (including death). Correct if I'm wrong, but didn't Diluc give up his delusion once he had less grief and less drive for revenge?
@@Merritt_Maverick Unfortunately I can't confirm or deny that, as I haven't read the manga. Given how Diluc acts in the game any time the Abyss Order or Fatui are mentioned in his presence, however, I would be surprised if his lust for vengeance didn't still burn brightly.

since the recent quest with dainsleif and chasm, I started to wonder: "What would happen if someone cursed with Immortality, similarly to people of Khaenriah would use the delusion used by Watatsumi soldiers?" Would the Delusion slow down the curse or would the Delusion kill its user before the curse takes full effect, or would it create a situation where someone uses a delusion without any side effects
Considering that the latter is actually possible in the case of Diluc. I'd say it would be a case by case basis depending on the type of Delusion, immortality would mean little if it's faulty or experimental enough to be more like Barnabas' transformation where it may cause mindless berserk status with moments of clarity or severe organ damage. They should be fine if they use Elite and Harbinger ones.
Now I just had a random thought Could the blue glow stick earring be Dottore's delusion? I'm not sure if it's possible to have delusions in different shapes/forms, but if they can, then maybe the earring could be one
4:03 I only just noticed this, but does anybody else find it strange that this Fatui field agent believes (or at least claims) that Visions are granted by the will of the gods? Because we know now that they aren't, there's 'something else' that determines who receives a Vision alongside people's own desires. If Ei knows this, then the Tsaritsa should know this. And if the Tsaritsa knows this, then either the high-ranking members of the Fatui, at least, know this, or the Tsaritsa withholds that knowledge from them. Which is very questionable given that many Fatuus and other characters seem very disenchanted with the gods because they envy the power that they stand to gain from being granted a Vision and which they strongly desire. So somebody's not telling the whole truth, and in a manner that is too convenient for their interests to be an accident.
The Tsaritsa is not the original Cryo Archon and we don't know how removed/young she is from the likes of Morax and Barbatos (& Ei, through Makoto). We also don't know whether the position of Cryo Archon was gained through apprenticeship, tragedy, trickery, inheritance, theft... HOW she became an archon likely decided how much of an archon's knowledge the Tsaritsa has.

Allogenes (or vision wielders) may ascend to Celestia (and if you read the manga, that essentially happens to Venessa). Although, I’m not 100% sure if they’re guaranteed to attain godhood once they reach Celestia. In fact, we’re not sure what they do in general once they reach Celestia. But in the manga, you do get a small peak of what it looks like on the inside and the pillar/ overall structure of the building looks similar to the ones in the loading screen of the game. 🧐

(the video looks at the possibility of Paimon's being a personification of Teyvat's World Tree but i find it more hilarious to see her as Teyvat's Ratatoskr AKA the chaos squirrel who sows discontent via unending gossip because [adjusting in-game audio: "PAIMON coming in! PAIMON COMING IN!" can you hear PAIMON?"] is something i am very tired of hearing.)

I heard some theories that Paimon is just a fragment of one of the three moon sisters (you learn about their lore in the in-game books like “Moonlit Bamboo Forest”.). She looks the figure you see when you purchase “Blessing of the Welkin Moon” and she has an intact triquetra symbol (the symbol of the three moons) on her dress. Oddly enough, you also see a triquetra symbol on the wall in the abyssal domains, but it’s broken (maybe it’s symbolizes the demise of the three sisters?) edit: Man, I would love to see a some Norse inspired stuff in Genshin.
Drawing a Honkai parallel here, I think delusions are the equivalent of artificial stigmata, and visions are the equivalent of "natural" stigmata. Basically artificial stigmata are made to mimic the power of "natural" stigmata and given to normal people, but it damages their bodies. "Natural" stigmata however don't seem to have any drawbacks and, more importantly in this comparison, the wielders of "natural" stigmata are very likely to ascend to becoming a Herrscher, essentially godhood. A very familiar situation with the allogenes, and I don't think people with just a delusion can ascend to godhood. If you're wondering why I keep refering to "natural" stigmata in such a way is because they're actually products of the previous era of Honkai and the artificial stigmata are attempts to replicate the technology.
My theory is that the Tatarigami energy used in the delusions, is the similar to karma, the energy that Xiao has! Reasons: -Both coming from dead beings -Both giving the user more strength, but less health -Both having similar appearances
Great analysis on Delusions in contrast to Visions. I think there might be a 3rd category of elemental power from the Abyss. Abyss Heralds and Lectors have a much stronger source of elemental power than Fatui delusion wielders and probably most vision holders. Evidenced by their variety of elemental attacks and ability to gain an elemental shield at the brink of death. I wonder if a Delusion is a replica of the Abyss power since all Heralds so far also have the ability to transform during their boss fights.
Counterpoint to your last bit: Those transformations arent born of the delusions. Childe's transformation is part of his Foul Legacy -abyssal magic-, and Signora's, from her pyromancy skills and her years of fighting the abyss. Sure, Childe changes colour palette in his second phase, but i wouldnt really call that a full on transformation and may just be the work of the elements. Signora's delusion works quite differently, too, and is actually supposed to *repress* her Crimson Witch form. We have also seen Crepus and Diluc use delusions without suffering any physical changes.

Assuming he even becomes a playable character. I think the only reason we get Childe as a playable character is that the Traveler is ultimately friends with him. Even though he is a threat, he shows respect for the Traveler, and isn't afraid to show his more human side. Dotorre doesn't seem like the type to respect anyone - let alone befriend them. I think it's the same case with Signora, as the only person she can ever respect is the Tsaritsa - no one else. HoYo have kind of made it a point that only the characters that the Traveler considers friends are the ones that become playable. Of course, it is still a bit soon to know if that will hold true, but I'm not personally holding my breath.
@@SpinDlsc Friends is a... big term, the Traveller gets to see good people in the Fatui but is still highly passive aggressive. Childe sees them as a friendly rival in the hang out quest, the Traveller however is either threatening the guy or trying to be cordial because of Childe's little brother. I can see this changing in the future, though.
@@SpinDlsc Ofc we have no way of knowing which characters will be playable in the end. I've just heard he is all about making his test subjects physically stronger. I have no idea what mihoyo uses as criteria to make characters playable or not. All of the Harbingers have very human aspects about themselves that have to do with trauma and coping, they're (probably) not cruel to be cruel. I don't think the criteria is friendship but more or less emotional involvement with the character. If we ,through one way or another, get to know the Harbingers and their suffering, humanizing them in the process, I'd say there's high potential for them to be playable. Also ALOT of people desperately want to play Scaramouche and I don't think Mihoyo will miss this opportunity from a marketing standpoint. That's just my theory, the biggest chunk of our journey still lies ahead of us.

I love this channel. I just started playing Genshin in early 2022. (Love it, already caught up and adventure rank 54) . I got very lucky with my pulls with just gnostic hymn and the cheaper options so by no means am or ever will burn a hole in my pocket, but the Devs literally deserve the money. I've paid more for full games that were way worse. Like genshin adds new content on the daily sometimes. And always on the monthly. This channel has inspired me to start the manga and really educated me on the lore and got me even more into the World and I adore it. Thankyou for making content like this. Some of us are deep in the Genshin hole and it's nice to see superfans like you who know ridiculous amounts of info about the lore etc. Haha. Keep it up!

What if mist plants absorb archon residue from the environment? Some plants irl can do this, I think it was sunflowers that absorb things like radiation.
I know it sounds crazy, but i have this theory: the city floating in the sky was khaenriah and celestia, but now its empty, the gods live even more above it. I think that originally it was celestia but somehow it was conquered by khaenriah, ending on the last coffin's nail of the gods and decided to destroy it (yet it still functioned, wasnt erased from the sky). This can explain why the hell does the brother's memory (or sister depending who you choose) seem like its a different thing, i mean, wr can even see directly the moon at the same height of "wherever" he is running in from destruction. At least thats what i believe, probably will be denied.
I wanted to share a) vocabulary in this episode and b) an interesting bit of dialogue Pinion-To bind or hold down Cessation-being brought to an end Opulance-Lavish, wealthy (This dictonary will be updated) b) In the Delusion factory, The Balladeer tells us to embrace our anger just like the demon gods with Collei. He also tells us that the (quote) "wrath of the gods fills this factory and it feeds on your anger". This confirms delusions are made or use desceased demon gods or even better, gnosises. Delusions require you to feed on your emotions (just like Collei) in able to be used. We also see this in Teppei's dialogue-"As long as I have the will to become stronger, this device will answer my call." However, based on Aster's speculations, it might be the demon gods talking rather than the Balladeer. This theory also leads me to question if there are different ranks of delusions.
Vision uses the mind and ambition, and Delusion uses the soul and life. But, I love delusion more than vision. Why? Delusion is true, while a Vision is a lie. The Tsaritsa will definitely die the Himeko way. What delusion users hear when they use their delusion: "The way I go through with red roses burn my eyes Cold rain starts pouring hard, I'm being called upon. Never let you go, it's why I did them all For a chance at least, to live in your way Love of you is my most cherished thing So stay alive, bravely." Tsaritsa war with the Gods of the Old World Genshin: "PUT YOUR LIVES ON THE LINE!! BURN AWAY FOR THE SAKE OF HUMANITY!!!" *Even though she's cryo. Cryo can still burn if it's too cold*
Or maybe learn how to counter it? Either perfect and improve the LBRP (Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram) where it can instantly be used to nullify the delusions of the Fatui (and the Harbingers) to "purify" and weaken them. Or maybe, somehow exacerbate the deterioration process of Delusions in one's physical and mental health and basically use the Fatui's own power against them. I don't play the game nor read the manga, so I'm not sure how Cyno knew the LBRP. Did he create it? Did something teach it to him? Does the Dendro Archon know?
If scara will be released, in theory he might be a catalyst but what if he’s delusion is geo, then his second element is his sealed electro power? Since HoD is a defense scaling set he might be more powerful with a def base electro dmg?
I wouldn't say that Tartaglia doesn't need his delusion because he has his fowl legacy. His flow legacy in part combines the his vision and delusion abilities, allowing him to use both simultaneously. As for Signora, I'd say she indeed did need her delusion. As you mentioned it was more of a enprisonment than a power buff. She is indeed skill in pyromancy, however due to the death of her loved one and the grief from it, she goes on a rampage to "burn it all." I'm confident (until shown evidence orherwise) that her delusion is what kept her stable, imprisoning the roaring fire that was in her heart.

My personal opinion was always: the bigger your will, the better your control the visions and delusions... kazuha was able to activate his friends delusion because he also owned his friends will (why he got it!!). The gods do choose by your drive. i assume they kinda have an automode on that thing ;)

I don't know where you got this info but you're wrong. She has a Cryo delusion, she doesn't even have a vision either. She can control pyro thanks to delving into the liquid flame

I think it would only speed up the curse

A lot of Ritualistic Magicians use the LBRP. It's especially used in Thelemic practices the most

Maybe delusions are like a prism for abyssal energy (as opposed to visions that utilize the light energy / energy of the vishaps)

Assuming he even becomes a playable character. I think the only reason we get Childe as a playable character is that the Traveler is ultimately friends with him. Even though he is a threat, he shows respect for the Traveler, and isn't afraid to show his more human side. Dotorre doesn't seem like the type to respect anyone - let alone befriend them. I think it's the same case with Signora, as the only person she can ever respect is the Tsaritsa - no one else. HoYo have kind of made it a point that only the characters that the Traveler considers friends are the ones that become playable. Of course, it is still a bit soon to know if that will hold true, but I'm not personally holding my breath.
@@SpinDlsc Friends is a... big term, the Traveller gets to see good people in the Fatui but is still highly passive aggressive. Childe sees them as a friendly rival in the hang out quest, the Traveller however is either threatening the guy or trying to be cordial because of Childe's little brother. I can see this changing in the future, though.
@@SpinDlsc Ofc we have no way of knowing which characters will be playable in the end. I've just heard he is all about making his test subjects physically stronger.
I have no idea what mihoyo uses as criteria to make characters playable or not.
All of the Harbingers have very human aspects about themselves that have to do with trauma and coping, they're (probably) not cruel to be cruel.
I don't think the criteria is friendship but more or less emotional involvement with the character.
If we ,through one way or another, get to know the Harbingers and their suffering, humanizing them in the process, I'd say there's high potential for them to be playable.
Also ALOT of people desperately want to play Scaramouche and I don't think Mihoyo will miss this opportunity from a marketing standpoint.
That's just my theory, the biggest chunk of our journey still lies ahead of us.

I love this channel. I just started playing Genshin in early 2022. (Love it, already caught up and adventure rank 54) . I got very lucky with my pulls with just gnostic hymn and the cheaper options so by no means am or ever will burn a hole in my pocket, but the Devs literally deserve the money.
I've paid more for full games that were way worse. Like genshin adds new content on the daily sometimes. And always on the monthly.
This channel has inspired me to start the manga and really educated me on the lore and got me even more into the World and I adore it.
Thankyou for making content like this. Some of us are deep in the Genshin hole and it's nice to see superfans like you who know ridiculous amounts of info about the lore etc. Haha.

I know it sounds crazy, but i have this theory: the city floating in the sky was khaenriah and celestia, but now its empty, the gods live even more above it. I think that originally it was celestia but somehow it was conquered by khaenriah, ending on the last coffin's nail of the gods and decided to destroy it (yet it still functioned, wasnt erased from the sky). This can explain why the hell does the brother's memory (or sister depending who you choose) seem like its a different thing, i mean, wr can even see directly the moon at the same height of "wherever" he is running in from destruction.
At least thats what i believe, probably will be denied.

b) In the Delusion factory, The Balladeer tells us to embrace our anger just like the demon gods with Collei. He also tells us that the (quote) "wrath of the gods fills this factory and it feeds on your anger". This confirms delusions are made or use desceased demon gods or even better, gnosises. Delusions require you to feed on your emotions (just like Collei) in able to be used. We also see this in Teppei's dialogue-"As long as I have the will to become stronger, this device will answer my call." However, based on Aster's speculations, it might be the demon gods talking rather than the Balladeer. This theory also leads me to question if there are different ranks of delusions.
Vision uses the mind and ambition, and Delusion uses the soul and life. But, I love delusion more than vision. Why? Delusion is true, while a Vision is a lie.
The Tsaritsa will definitely die the Himeko way.

I wonder if anyone in Sumeru is trying to make thier own delusions independently.
Or maybe learn how to counter it? Either perfect and improve the LBRP (Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram) where it can instantly be used to nullify the delusions of the Fatui (and the Harbingers) to "purify" and weaken them. Or maybe, somehow exacerbate the deterioration process of Delusions in one's physical and mental health and basically use the Fatui's own power against them.
I don't play the game nor read the manga, so I'm not sure how Cyno knew the LBRP. Did he create it? Did something teach it to him? Does the Dendro Archon know?

If scara will be released, in theory he might be a catalyst but what if he’s delusion is geo, then his second element is his sealed electro power? Since HoD is a defense scaling set he might be more powerful with a def base electro dmg?
Scaramouche will likely be a sword wielding character as it was stated that he is capable of preforming sword dances.
I wouldn't say that Tartaglia doesn't need his delusion because he has his fowl legacy. His flow legacy in part combines the his vision and delusion abilities, allowing him to use both simultaneously.
As for Signora, I'd say she indeed did need her delusion. As you mentioned it was more of a enprisonment than a power buff. She is indeed skill in pyromancy, however due to the death of her loved one and the grief from it, she goes on a rampage to "burn it all." I'm confident (until shown evidence orherwise) that her delusion is what kept her stable, imprisoning the roaring fire that was in her heart.

My personal opinion was always: the bigger your will, the better your control the visions and delusions... kazuha was able to activate his friends delusion because he also owned his friends will (why he got it!!). The gods do choose by your drive. i assume they kinda have an automode on that thing ;)

I don't know where you got this info but you're wrong. She has a Cryo delusion, she doesn't even have a vision either. She can control pyro thanks to delving into the liquid flame
