I know its a old post, But I just came across this. Amarillo Raceway in Amarillo Texas, Birdmans In his Turbocharged Third Gen Camaro. Sucks that Daddy Dave crashed, but it was great to see everyone wanted to help Dave in the mist of this tragedy. It definitely helps to remind you that there are still great people still out there. Everyone came together and Did alot for Dave and his family.
This really shows just how far the cars have progressed on Street Outlaws. The Sonoma was the #1 car on the list for several years and made a very solid hit here with owner Jackie driving. The difference between a quick, older back half car (Sonoma) and Dave’s newer, full chrome moly tube chassis car was pretty significant.
I thought it was pretty cool they lined up together. It was actually a random draw of chips that put them in that race but cool none the less. I'm sure Dave didn't want to lose to that truck at all. ha ha.
I know, that was one of the first times I have really seen Ronnie win that much. And oddly enough the car he was racing was a borrowed car from somebody. I guess all his other cars are broken right now.
Ty Ty Ty, for not showin the freakin burnouts! So much action packed in a twelve minute video. Birdman is in a slump and Kayla still cant get down the track.

@@bigkiwial Wrong. All cars depend on the skill and knowledge. A stock 220hp SBC WILL beat a Procharged BBC if the tune is too hot or way too soft. Therefore, it's not Jackie. Its everything all together. A gun is not deadly if it has no firing pin. Everything must work in tandem to complete the work.
Newer viewer of drag so stupid question i guess.. but whats with some of them letting out of it and popping their chute way before what i assumed was the finish line? Maybe its perspective and theyre actually crossing the line down where the big signs are but looks short to me maybe?
i hate being that guy but damn 1/8th mile sucks so bad to watch haha. some guys throwing chutes before the grand stands were even finished haha. Nice video though good to see everyone out enjoying some racing.

For sure. Also I think it takes so long to spool up that he is not at full boost on some of the runs, he will time out and get a red light if he takes too long spooling up. Crazy...
Birdman needs to get his crew back together. Rumor has it, that guys that helped Birdman's dominance. Have moved on to other things. If true, it sure explains his struggles. Haven't seen him make a Birdman type pass in some time. And, it is awesome to see Ronnie Pace going some rounds.
Like I said, heard a rumor. No facts to base it on. From what I've seen. Birdman's problem don't appear to be motor related. Tire shake, breaking tires loose and about every other suspension related thing. Hasn't made too many straight passes this season. Not hating, Birdman is one of my favorites. Personally, I think the problem with the suspension issues. Can be more hair pulling than motor problems. Can't hook a laptop up to the suspension, like you can on a motor. A lot goes into being fast. Just hope Birdman turns it around soon.
as Axe pointed out its the same crew and the long haired guy you always see him with is the actual Birdman. I forget the story but he was called that when they both worked with Todd Moyer when running ADRL and ORSCA etc. They have been running the twins set up for a few years and back into his past cars and knew the car and combo well but changing over and they havent gotten to test as much as they used to be able to and you see the results. Thet work their asses off so theyll def be back tho
First off, thanks for watching from the UK, that's awesome! As for the racing length, traditionally all No Prep events are 1/8th mile long because of the lack of traction and the speeds that the cars can get up to (200 mph). Also I guess they prefer the 1/8th mile length because it relates to the distance that you would do in an average street race from light to light. I personally race at a 1/4 mile drag strip but that is with a sticky prepped track and I don't go anywhere near 200 mph even in the 1/4 mile, so it is hard to imagine how fast those guys go. Cool video The saddest part of the show was when Murder Nova was the last car you could stick a magnet to, just kinda stopped watching after that since the cars are pro-mods and nowhere near street legal. I am disappointed that it went that direction since there were so many nice cars that turned into plastic. I don't know if I am the only person that did this, but it just made me sad when that was said.

Probably would have to start fresh with some cars and tell all of them to get a daily driver car together and start racing both the crazy cars and one's that are true street cars and will street race at the same time. You haven't been watching the show as of late. All the cars are steel, Vin tag cars. They called Reaper out on his car last list race. He got booted because he had a carbon fiber body that he glued metal body pieces to.
Oh please.....back when I used to street race, back in the early 80's, I had a car I could drive 500 miles. None of those cars are "street cars", including Murder Nova.

Megalodon is still easily the most dangerous draw at any No Prep. On any given night, that could be the fastest street raced car in the world. I would rather draw Birdman because you are supposed to lose to him. Everyone does. Megalodon knocks out the fastest cars on a regular basis but he still does not have the reputation of invincibility that he should. People don't seem to recognize how much of an absolute monster that car is.

I'm in North Carolina filming right now and Monza beat a ProCharged red Fox bodied Mustang last night. It was a really close race too, both cars were fast. Video coming soon...
Great question. It is actually a random instant green, so it will be different timing every race so it makes it near impossible (unless you are Kye Kelley) to predict when it will turn green.
I believe it was on the 4th of July race and it was Amarillo and I don't know who he was racing against and I'm not going to cheat and look it up so I'm going to go with Amarillo 4th of July weekend

s c the car nowdays is way faster as when dave drove it.. his setup is just not as competitive nowdays since every body is running lightweight full chassis car with big buck setups.. you could put jacky in goliath and dave in the sonoma and jacky would blow him out of the water ..
