Even if its not outright stated I think the flashbacks to Eri make it pretty clear that Aizawa's main reason for amputating his own leg was mainly so Eri wouldn't blame herself for the loss of his quirk. She's already put too much blame on herself for things that were actually out of her control, she doesn't need to do it anymore. Aizawa's such a dad

@@mxxnl4ght well, that's actually a theory (unless that happened in the manga that I don't read) Dekus dad's(Hisashi Midoriya) quirk is Fire breathing and All For Ones quirk is stealing quirks so if this theory is true then he probably stole a fire breathing quirk and pretended that it was his only quirk
