This video is a follow-up of a video I did on the first repot for this Japanese maple, since obtaining it. I was shocked with the amount of dead roots, explaining how the growth had suffered last year. If you would like to watch that one too, it is right here: th-cam.com/video/0-P1WBqa1sc/w-d-xo.html
But before you do, if you like this video, please drop me a comment, like and share the video in your socials, so your bonsai friends also get to enjoy it!

I normally leave the lichen on the branches. I know it's an acquired taste but I really like the look.

@2:04 would it have not been better to keep the middle and the one you removed? My thoughts being that eventually the one on the left and the one you kept @1:48 will cross.

Been looking at the video myself wondering.I should really go and find the branch on the tree again and see why, when I was trimming, this seemed the best option.

Thank you so much! I do find it hard at times to not include every single detail in videos. But no-one is looking for a rambling story right! Do you have lichen on your trees?

You’re most welcome. I’ve only been into Bonsai 3 months, not long enough for lichen even here in Devon where trees are encrusted with it! Beautiful! Also lovely moss and ferns 🥰
