It's 2023 and the SodaStream I've had for almost a decade suddenly stopped working. Thanks for giving me the run-down on how to take it apart. Much appreciated.
This video is a life-saver! Thank you so much. My Sodastream is the exact model you have and the cylinder seal was half hanging out on inspection and so pushing it back into place has returned the kit back to its former glory! Thank you again, I would never have thought to look at that side of it. Cheers
Mine did not leak but suddenly stopped to work right. There was not enough gas going in to the water bottle the flow of gas was not enough to reach the pressure where it blows off with that big shhhhh. In the end it was a minor problem easy to fix. The white rod which goes in to the bottle has a stainless tip. In that stainless tip you find a 0.38mm (0.0149 In) hole which in my case was partially plugged by calcium build up. After using the Sodastream machine there is always a drip of water left on that tip. When the water evaporates calcium is slowly building up. Find a real thin needle or steel wire that can be used to clear that hole. (steel wire brush single wire ect) I bought already a second Sodastream machine but now the old one is working like new.
Thank goodness for TH-cam comments! There didn't appear to be any issues on any of the parts when I disassembled, I couldn't find any leakages. So I tried this! I found some metal twine and pulled out a single thread, poked through the hole and sure enough I'm getting full carbonation. Thanks!
You're my hero. I used a safety pin and after 5 seconds of wiggling it around in the white tip it was carbonating perfectly again. I wish I could send you some cookies.
Good luck , I have asked the same question and on Redditt they say you can't buy this and your soda stream is unfixable. I have been looking for this part for 2 days on the internet. I called sodastream in London England and they told me that they would send a new machine. My machine is hardly used and less than 2 years old. The warranty is up in 2 weeks, so I will be calling them again tomorrow to get a new one. This is BS. I will need a new machine every 2 years when the gasket fails. The older soda streams , I found out have screw on bottles that seal at the top. They would work better.
Thank you so much!!! I bought one secondhand off marketplace and was so sad that the stream was really inconsistent and it took about 3-4 compressions to get any kind of fizz. Had a look at my cylinder seal was sooo grubby!!! A quick wipe and it was working good as new!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
What about the front gasket over the water bottle ? I got mine out but I have been searching for a replacement for 2 days. It was hard to get out but I got it out and it is a double layers flimsy rubber that inflates from the gas pressure to make a seal. I know that is my problem. I check on redditt and many people have the same problem and can't buy this gasket. After filling 40 bottles of water with gas , this gasket fails. It is junk. I phoned soda stream and they don't sell the gasket and won't tell me a part number. I might be able to get a new machine on warranty but they are junk and will fail again in 2 years. I wish I would have bought the old model where you screw the water bottle onto the soda stream and the rubber gasket is on the top of the bottle.. I also think a gasket on the top will stop the water from flooding out when you over gas it. On Redditt , they say you can't get this gasket. What BS. Don't buy a soda stream unless it is a screw on type, not the quick connect water bottle.

Hi Nick, great video, I managed to totally disassemble the sofa stream (exact same model as in the demo. I found the culprit - the plastic screw that attaches the thin black tube to the gas bottle cylinder attachment area. It has literally sheared itself off at the bolt part. Do you know if that is a replaceable part? I’m not sure if it would be mendable with the right type of plastic adhesive? Might need to go buy replacement unit…… I wanted to give it a go as I has sending stuff to landfill if it can be fixed!🤪
I took mine apart due to leak internally found broken nut on the airline are these available? Also I found a loose 1/4 inch magnet fell out where does it go ? Thank you

Nick, my Soda Stream is one of the older models that is corded.....is the replacement gasket for the bottle the same for all models? I don't remember the name of the unit. Appreciate your help.
Thanks. I had a related issue in that the washer was stuck to the old bottle which I didn't notice when I replaced it. When I saw it was missing I found the old bottle (which I nearly had sent off to be refilled) and it was stuck on the end. Took it off the old bottle, popped the washer back in and job done! Your video helped me to know what I was looking for. Thanks
I have a newer Sodastream that leaks when I carbonate. Also, the cylinders wind up completely empty without the couple of ounces of residual gas that was usually left when the cylinder would stop carbonating and the unit was was working correctly. any Idea of the cause? Thanks.
This sounds like my issue too. It's like a pressure relief valve is too loose, or something like that. Gas just pours out way too soon. Flat out getting 20 fills from one cylinder.
I got stuck trying to take off the main white component that should slide up and off but I couldn’t tell from your high speed video with no explanation what you were releasing with the flat head screw driver.
Do you have a white or dark grey one? I was struggling on mine until I noticed that I could push out a rod that is in the top part of the piece. Then it came out really easy.
Hi Sobey, I’m no plumber (just an artist 😂😂), does the 1/8” mean inside measurement to fit the male screw bit on the connection? I’m going to see if I can find a brass fitting in Australia!
@@NoisyMynor yes that is correct. The trick was to 1st drill a hole the exact size as the pipe. Next, with a bigger bit, shave off the inside of the hole just enough to make the other side mate when tightened. Not too hard as it may sound but the result will make u smile. Good luck.
@@NoisyMynor The screw threads are actually bigger, around 11/32". It's called a "1/8" cap" because it's the standard cap used with a 1/8" hose. If you ask for a 1/8" cap, they'll know what you mean. The pipe is exactly 1/8", but you'll need to cut a slot in the side of the cap to accomodate the brass ring that's crimped on to the end of the pipe. It's that brass ring which actually makes the seal.
This was helpful but could be better. The film was too fast so i had to slow it down in some spots to see what you were doing. The camera wasnt close enough to capture the details of what you were doing and you could take some time to explain what you were doing when removing the covers. I knew you were looking for tabs but you could include their position and number so i wasnt just prying around at nothing. Thanks though. Got it working again.

Hey this worked! I didn’t replace the gasket but instead turned it around the so imprinted side faced upwards. Did the trick! Thanks!

Epoxy resin does wonders mate. Even used on cars to fix plastic parts, it will become harder then when it was manufactured.

what if the machine never stops outputting gas form nozzle (leaking)? Where is the fault?

Great video. my locking nut had cracked open. Got a 1/8" brass cap and drilled a hole to match the black pipe and Walla!

I need to dissemble the back to fix the lever for the cylinder. Do I do this from the back or do I have to take off the front area?
