The occupants were probably in a monthly record club. My grandfather was in one. His record collection was worth thousands from Led Zeppelin to englebert Humperdink (not sure about the spelling).

I wouldn't call this an Equestrian Estate, as those have facilities to house horses like a stable, as well as arenas and such. This is just a house with a family (or family member) who leased/showed/owned horses. Still a cool house, nonetheless. It looks like they might have started preparing the house for a hurricane and might have been flooded at some point too. Those palmetto bugs (giant cockroaches) are evvvverrrryyywheeeere in Florida, and they usually come inside especially when the weather is rainy.
Always seems weird to me people leave pictures and postcards behind like that. I would rather throw them away then leave them behind for strangers. But maybe thats just me. The place feels like the lives of the people living there were turned upside down overnight. The phone was not disconnected is extra weird. No waterdamage anywhere. 19:30 I take that back. WRONG - JUST FYI - - Bed bugs can go without feeding for 20 to 400 days, depending on temperature and humidity. and the older stages of nymphs can survive longer without feeding than the younger ones, and adults have survived without food for more than 400 days in the laboratory at low temperatures. This house has been abandoned for a while HOWEVER there are BAT BUGS which are damn near identical to bed bugs and an abandoned house can have bats. I know because I am in the multi-family apartment business and have been dealing with that shit for years.
