Dead or Alive held many concerts in Japan in 1987, 1989, and 1990. They toured various cities in Japan, but in Tokyo they performed at the Budokan in 1987, the Tokyo Dome (with Kylie Minogue and Sinitta also performing) in 1989, and Yoyogi Gymnasium in 1990. This video was taken in 1987. Date: October 8, 1987 venue: the Nippin Budokan, Tokyo Japan
Yeah they didnt have any phones or instagram. You can always watch a perfomance on youtube nowadays but back then, this was more special. There also many more factors..
For all of you who don't know, Pete died October 23rd 2016. This concert was performed for his mum. While Pete was on tour he got a call from his mums hotel breaking the news. This performance was dedicated to his mum. And his mum dying had an impact on him, leading to a little depression. He said in one of his interviews that he wanted his face to meet his satisfaction, that it was like buying a new couch, but buying a new face. In about late 87' and mid and early 88' im sure it was, things started going down hill for him. He struggled to think of new song lyrics and decided to keep the old songs on the market for people to hear. You can view that little bit on his Paris interview. In 90s, Pete got more surgery and appeared in the public eye. In 2001 he had a new face and a new song, Hit and Run Lover. Anyways, at this point the band new he was entering a dangerous state for his surgery. In 2003 the remake of Spin Me was released. Lucky for you folks, you never got to see the unedited version, which you would not want to see. A year later, his lips erupted and puss came out. He traveled the world for people to fix it and finally settled in Italy for 2 years. In 2006 he appeared on celebrity big brother but came out in 5th place. He needed the money to fix his lips. The rest, you know. Contact me by this comment if you would like to know more.
OfficalSteve CoyDOA Hello Steve, thank you for the information. Poor Pete, he'd come through terrible pain, everything for a bad operation. Also I couldn't say goodbye to my mother as well and that's something which hounts you forever and yet he'd cared about the show, delivered it for 100%, and kept going. He deserves huge respect, such a strong personality. May his soul rest in piece.
Pete Burns was one of those persons that if he was on stage, you couldn't not be enchanted. In hundred years, we will remember him yet, both as an artist as a man (a beautiful man in every his shades)
You're right, I literally could not stop watching him. It was glorious. He didn't need special effects or dance routines or autotune like so many horrible performers I see today (looking at you, JLo, Gwen, etc.) bc he did it all with himself and his voice and presence. It's a cool thing to see the real deal. Like Freddie Mercury. He PUT ON A SHOW and didn't need props and performers and training bc he already had it within. I love it.
James Wallace that would literally be the gayest concert ever. That’ll be a heaven concert since more of them are dead than alive (pun not intended). 3/4 are there already, just need the last one and then it’s good to go.
From what i heard some dude punched him in the face and had to get surgery and some surgeon didn't think what he/she was doing and injected a chemical that caused to ruin pete's face and had to do all of those surgeries to still have his face intact
This is definitely one of my favourite songs, and I have become overly curious about Pete Burns lately. Seeing him here with his astonishing voice and fashion, and having the lights flashing on his moves while the crowd goes wild for him, he is legendary. It always breaks my heart how this world made him hate his appearance, when to me, he is dashingly handsome in an androgynous way. It scares me how the Pete we see here and the Pete we saw in the 2010s with bankruptcy and depression are the same person. This video reminds me of his golden days, and I hope God is patting him on the back in Heaven now and reminding him this is how He made him, and he lives on in our hearts. RIP Pete
How did this this world make him hate his appearance???! Yes... To me, he had stunning... sensual good looks. However... I never thought of him as androgynous. I could tell... later on, though... that Pete wanted to appear more feminine. WOW. That just about shocked my socks off!!! AND.... just as you have.... I have been curious about Pete lately. He has... in the last six months... kinda seeped into my mind. He is in my consciousness a lot. Well... Thank you for your comment
I don't think he hated his appearance if you listen to interviews. He hated the bad surgeries he had, and he probably originally was trying to ENHANCE his appearance. Then he took what was considered "bad" to the rest of the world and worked it like no one else could. I say he was fully himself, and just bc it didn't look good to you, doesn't mean it wasn't who he was. He wasn't "perfect" here and he wasn't "less perfect" after surgeries gone wrong. He was loved by those who knew him. You can tell they didn't look at him and see something wrong, they saw someone they loved. That's all anyone could want in the end. If you find one person who looks at you at your worst and loves you MORE, bc they love all of you -- that is a great thing to have. Someone who loves you when your hair falls out and you're dying of cancer, just as much as when you had all your hair. Sorry to go on like that. But I don't see him as freakish as some might.

The world of pop performance can often be garish and ostentatious - would we really want it any other way? For this reason, pop is pivotal in breaking down sexual taboos. Back in the 80's nobody could tell Gay from Straight. The more make up, bigger hair, tighter pants that dudes had, the more chicks they got. Nevertheless, 80's mtv stars were iconic both for their looks and music.
the 80s looks really really nice on paper but also u could not act flamboyant like this in public without risking a very very possible hate crime. also a ton of racism.... also a lot of serial killers....
He changed my life in a colossal way, it hurt me to know what was of his life, even so he went on with courage and energy, he taught me that life does not change, but people with will yes, my eternal respects to this idol.
Solid Snake that's pretty rude in my opinion and plus does it really matter how someone looks? Plus Pete is not a monster that's just your opinion u don't have to be so rude.
MercilessDoc Your the one who probably is the monster…for judging people just for how they look no matter how different a person looks they are beautiful no matter what.
I love artists who sound the same live and studio. It's a rare thing and I respect it. I like nickleback despite what ppl say about them now simply because they had a huge stage presence, great energy, happy to rock your night and sounded just like they did in studio or on the radio.
Maravilloso Pete Burns!!!!
During one of his interviews I believe he mentioned that he was "addicted" to plastic surgery, always touching up this or that. I guess an addiction to plastic surgery would be better than an addiction to Little Debbie snack cakes! I liked how he, in another interview somewhere, mentioned that he never wore flats. High heels around the clock. High heels washing dishes, high heels at the dinner table, high heels walking to the drug store or the grocer. He did what he wanted when he wanted how he wanted and to what extent he decided. I still love his music after he's gone, after the band has finished performing, after all the gossip has become old and stale.
Fun fact : my mom was at this performance and she got to meet him backstage ,she said it was one of the most amazing experiences of her life

He was So Gorgeous back then very sad what happened to him
Back in the 80's nobody could tell Gay from Straight. The more make up, bigger hair, tighter pants that dudes had, the more chicks they got. Nevertheless, 80's mtv stars were iconic both for their looks and music.
E vero.
Ex. Aerosmith, Twisted Sister, Prince.
He was just normal looking here. We had multiple friends with long hair and makeup. They looked better than us going out
True that and there was a few around for sure.
RIP CARAJO ERAS GENIAL
Pienso lo mismo. :'(
Yo igual
Yo también estoy poseida por su belleza 💜💜

An inspiration to us all.
God bless you Pete xx
He was a beautiful person.
What a voice! What a performante The rest îs history
He was so beautiful 😍😍😍😍
So sad, he left us so soon, same as Steve :(
People in the 1980 was having so much fun but look at us in 2020 we are so bord with this coronavirus
Yes we had! And we enjoyed it, I swear
STFU
Let's not forget the aids epidemic though
the 80s looks really really nice on paper but also u could not act flamboyant like this in public without risking a very very possible hate crime. also a ton of racism.... also a lot of serial killers....
Música boa demais
You made me emotional
I agree in 100%
He was Beautiful, sad what happened to him
Man I can sing that chorus non stop and still be happy!!!
He changed my life in a colossal way, it hurt me to know what was of his life, even so he went on with courage and energy, he taught me that life does not change, but people with will yes, my eternal respects to this idol.
what a great performer and voice! He was beautiful here
He looks so happy , i love this song😊
Literally the hottest guy ever wtf
RIP Pete 😢
But in the end he looked like a monster
Solid Snake that's pretty rude in my opinion and plus does it really matter how someone looks? Plus Pete is not a monster that's just your opinion u don't have to be so rude.
@@stalkmehere But anyway, in the end he looked like a monster
MercilessDoc Shut up no one asked
MercilessDoc Your the one who probably is the monster…for judging people just for how they look no matter how different a person looks they are beautiful no matter what.
One of the best songs of the eighties.
SO WONDERFUL!!!!!! A GREAT VOICE!
#RipPeteBurns
Omg! I wish I was as fabulous as this man! Pete its a whole mood! never seen anybody have this much fun on stage. Its contagious.
I love his voice 😳
He was amazing before all those surgeries
RIP Pete Burns. There will never be another like you, you were the best. Loved the way he danced.
I love artists who sound the same live and studio. It's a rare thing and I respect it. I like nickleback despite what ppl say about them now simply because they had a huge stage presence, great energy, happy to rock your night and sounded just like they did in studio or on the radio.
He's hypnotizing... ⭐
If I had to pick ONE song to encapsulate 80s music, this would be it.
you're right ! 😂

I'm so in love with this song, truly amazing, I kept replaying it for days! Pete Burns was definitely a sexy handsome man.
This guy was great... I always liked his music
his voice 👌
Excellent quality..
Lucky and blessed people who lived the 80's.
He was so far ahead of his time and truly gifted. 🖤
brave, powerful, unapologetic. love it.
This video has great editing! Took me a minute to notice that these are two different performances!🤩
I love this song. The beat is fantastic.
@@DekuShy y verdaderos artistas😊😊😊
He was incredibly handsome, very sexy - too bad he didn't see it and completely ruined his looks with bad plastic surgery. RIH Pete! 😇👍🏿🌈☮️
@@danielkane1108 An addiction to plastic surgery is definetly worse than an addiction to food.
