- Eva Braun was Hitler's secret lover for more than 13 years. To this day, she is regarded as an apolitical and naïve appendage of the mass murderer. But who was the "bride of evil" really? Officially, Eva Braun was Hitler's private secretary at the Berghof. It was only after her death that she became a public figure in Germany. Together with Adolf Hitler, she took her own life in the bunker beneath the Reich Chancellery in Berlin on 30 April 1945. The dictator had previously married his long-time lover. Hidden from the national community, she spent most of her time in Munich or at Hitler's mountain farm in the Alps. The first academic biography by Heike B. Görtemaker aims to revise the image of the blonde and apolitical ditz at the dictator's side.

Incredible documentary. You cannot get into Eva's head. Seemly oblivious to everything. Her filming leaves us still wondering. 😮
She seemed obsessed with him.
seems
@@niccoloflorence It's in the past, so the correct way to phrase it would be "seemed". @stevep4574 seems to be right.
@@JR-sq2of No, as it happens if you use seemed it conveys the action broke off at a point... you can use it after watching the video and recalling something but if you are commenting on the video and the action endures it will be 'seem'.
• Orwell seems to be a socialist.
• Gone with the Wind *is* set during the civil war.
• "But in the fourteenth chapter of The City of God
Augustine seems intent on proving that, even if Adam once had free will, he himself had never received it." - Elaine Pagels (Adam, Eve, and the Serpent)

@@niccoloflorenceWhy do you feel the need to correct people on how they spell things and then go on to proceed to present us a grammar lesson?
I guess you can try to make corrections on my comment as weil.
The tragedy of the Third Reigh is inestimably huge. Eva's relationship with the Fuhrer is also tragic. Imagine knowing that an ageing, ill Hitler became unattainable. His private hell had to have become hers. What a dark and tragic story! I'm consider myself highly intuitive and just having even peripheral knowledge of Hitler's atrocities would have been to depressing for me.
The result of them losing a war they didn't start is tragic.

I wish I could lip read what Hitler and Ava are talking about at 21:09

@@ReginaPhilange1996- I just searched and couldn’t find the documentary
My ex boss reminded me alot of Hitler. He was an ex military man, had a stoic, self-possessed and unyielding personality. However, he was subject to the rules and regulations beyond his control. He had allowed an unprincipled woman to be his second in command. When he signed the termination of an employee, it was found that that employee was wrongfully fired. The employee sued and settled, but it damaged the ex military man's reputation. The Board of the Agency advised him to retire or be fired. It was devastating for this man who, l like Hitler had devotion and ambition for the agency but who wrongly relied on the word of a ruthless woman to make judgement on that employee. He did retire and then went to work an another agency, only to be fired from that agency, probably because he went there on a high horse and tried to become the boss immediately. He was, like Hitler, not be outranked, and was fired. I think of him as a person with a narrow, somewhat racist or classist view. It cost him his job.
Gosh it must have been awful to work under him. Glad he got his just dessert. Hope he didn’t have a family
What the hell are you talking about?
What?? You think Hitler failed because he listened to a woman?
Hitler wasn't influenced by any ruthless woman. Eva was only a teenager when they met. He took advantage of her. He was the ruthless one.
That white swimsuit of Eva Braun's was scandalous.
For her time, maybe. It would be considered a grandma swimsuit today.

26:31 New Years group photo. Looks like a fun group. Not. There isn’t a smile in the group. Oh wait, maybe 2 😂
Looks like the ending of The Shining
They had beautiful family moments and wanted to deny people that they deemed subhuman basic life.
On the blood of millions
Regardless, of who the man was. Ava was never going to be a professional woman. There didn't seem to be any other men in Ava's life. Why not go for someone. Many women fall for men who can't commit. I do wonder about their personal life behind doors.
Did they ever lay out in the ☀ sun.
There’s tons of pictures of them in bathing suits g suits on loungers. But they didn’t seem to tan that is true
Many of us western Europeans do not tan. We have very fair skin.
A lot of people are just naturally pale, I used to go outside often but ive always been whiter than paper. A lot of people with tans have spray tans anyway.
@@danialeatherman8934 They tanned but the camera did not capture the tanning.....😁
To me she was so attractive. There was something about her that I loved. She seemed so dedicated to hitler. Not too many woman like that around anymore.
She got money, luxurious items, cosmetics went shopping out of Germany to France and ltaly tax free. She knew after Hitler died she would be jailed and entorogated by the Russians. Her father was against the Nazis but his life would have been threatened.l the respect Eva's sister l think her name was Ilsie who never compromised and kept off.Eva's mother and her younger sister were greedy.
She was unhealthily obsessed. Sounds like you are, too. No thanks, I will take my Hitler-hating women, please.
Im not even sure how to take your comment. Hard to find young girls with daddy issues? Or choices are slim to none when Hitler is your bf?
Obsessed & suicidal…..women like that?
She had a fit, athletic body. Really nice smile. Attractive though not beautiful. Wasted on Adolf as his true love was Albert Speer😁
She was beautiful.
As despicable as Hitler was as a person, he did (and hid) his tender side. I had a dream once that I was afraid of his rage.
You should be more concerned about Netanyahu‘s rage
Eva was quite plain looking and as described looked like a plump middle class Hausfrau .
…a beaver hat
Why love a monster

The German women were not exactly attractive. Just my opinion.
They're still not attractive, but they will do anything. Men too. Germans are freaky in sex.
Starting with Himmler lovers ...Hermann Goering second wife I can agree with you
Robert Ley had a beautiful wife much younger than himself. She committed suicide in 1942. Bormann had an affair with his attractive secretary Elsa. She ended up living in the UK for many years after the war after marrying a British officer.
@vonsausage6312
Bormann young wife was indeed beautiful....agree with you on that
German women are generally very beautiful, unless they have a tendency to gain wait. My favorite model is Anna Ewers, internationally known as one of the most beautiful German model. She is 30.
Both jewish ironic
They married in 1938. They had 2 children. And they lived in Switzerland after World War II.
That's...so wrong and a biggest lie ever
They married on April 29th, 1945 not 1938. PLEASE CHECK YOUR DATES BEFORE COMMENTING, MADAME OR MONSIEUR!
