The Aermotor is my favorite windmill of all of them. The design is so close to perfect that I don’t think they’ve changed much, if anything about the design in several decades. I used to have two Aermotors but sold both of them. I wish I had kept my 8 foot diameter one and used it for a garage display. I painted the tips red on mine too. 🙂 They look sharp. Yours looks fantastic!
AS A MATTER OF FACT, VERY INTERSTING, BECVAUSE A LIVE EN PERU, AND EVERYBODY WANT THIS PROYECT , NOBODY HERE KNOW TO WORK A KIND OF ENERGY EOLOS, THANK U FOR THIS VIDEO, I WILL BE ON LINE TO LOOK ABOUT. GOD BLESS YOU.
While not original, I do really like your red tips, most wood bladed mills dipped their tips in red or some other color of lead paint to help keep them from splitting and some of the early metal mills like Heller Aller did as well just for looks.
I think the very first ones in the 1880s might have been tipped in red, they were not galvanized but painted white. I got one of about every model but the 502, the bell hub and the first model from 6ft to 16ft dia.
Hi can i plz ask some advice. Do you plz maby have a diagram of how the head and steptower fits together as i have a suiderkruis that i want to erect that works on the same principle. Im from south Africa and cant find none plz

Very well done. I also resurrected an Aermotor 702 and it is a source of pride and joy; and water, of course.
Good of you to put the old guy back up and working. I like to see people using old technology.
