As a beginner this was one of the best lessons I've seen...so very helpful! Thank you Cindi! Should the rug warp be washed before hooking on it?

There is no need to wash the rug warp. The holes are tight enough to hold the wool loops. Some rug hookers think rug warp is hard to hook into because the holes are small. Washing it would make the holes smaller. Rug warp is good for beginners because it prevents the prior loops from being pulled out. Also an excellent choice for pet owners.

No need to wash the backing, in fact, the washing could shrink the backing to the point that it becomes unusable.
