I recently have been working on my 1960 M3 after taking the organ out of storage after 20 years. This had the front cover still on it so the insides are very clean. Tube checked and replaced as needed amp tubes. Hammond oil to left cup for scanner and motor, both middle and right cups had three doses of filling cup, that was Friday night. Saturday checked and had some squeeling bearings so I left it alone. Sunday night so two days later: tonight I realized that some heat might get the oil to flow better. After ten minutes of going up and down the generator on the bottom side slowly back and forth, I started the organ and had NO SQUEEELING!! When I shut down the generator is ran for 16 seconds until it stopped. I imagine this might be rare? but if your organ is squeeling give it some loving heat! Johnne in Clallam Bay, WA.

Some I purchased a C2 spring of last year 2022 and powered up great but has been sitting for almost six months not turned on and today 1/16/2023 the run motor failed me and I discovered this video.😢
When bought it was oiled but not smooth and quit. I removed the back panel today 1/16/2023 and the cup above the run motor was over filled so I used some tissue to absorb most it!

This information is appropriate for all Hammond Tonewheel organs with start/run motors including Hammond B3, B2, BV, A100, C3, C2, CV, M3, M2

Hello. If your oil cups are not draining, something must be clogging them - check for debris at the bottom of the cups; you may also need to use extra-long pipe-cleaners to clean the tubes beneath the oiling cups. The Hammond Oil Cups funnel oil via tubes beneath them to other funnels above the Hammond Tone Wheel assembly. Oil is then "wicked" to all the tone wheel bearings by small cotton threads. This takes time and that's why it takes several days after oiling for the tone wheel shaft and bearings to be properly lubricated. It's extremely important to use Hammond Oil for this process. -- John

What resistors are made today that you can use for replacement?

I need help with my E-312. Motor spins then it gets choked and does not spin the tone generator. It’s a self synchronous motor

What if the problem continues? Run motor does not stay on even after replacing the resister.

Hey John. I have a 1936 Model A. Do you know where I can buy that resistor? AO-19124-15 I'm not sure where to buy it to try this out. Can you lead me in the right direction? thanks. j.

My resistor tested bad so I replaced it. The resistor was a B12J25OE (I was told this is the same as the AO-19124-15) This had no effect so I have pulled out the run Motor. How do I test the motor to see if is bad?

Hello -- try using your ohm meter on the motor. No ohms?? The windings are probably bad and the motor needs to be replaced. There are two motors on the older Hammond models; the Start Motor, and, the Run Motor.

Any idea where I can find a suitable replacement resistor?
