Brilliant reconstruction of the song -- love it! I learned it on the mandolin, but now I'll have to go back & try it on my 6-string this way. I'm thinking I could really raise some eyebrows, playing this version out here in California! (lots of Vedder lovers out here). I'd just need another guitar pre-tuned with this tuning. Thanks for sharing, in any case!
After several attempts, I'm finally able to play this fabulous song, thanks to you! Your tune is very nice!! I tuned the last two strings to C, I prefer 😉 Anyway thanks a lot!
I made this video so long ago it was like the beginning of TH-cam or something. Glad to see people still finding it helpful. It’s really just a small group of people like you and I who just won’t compromise and play it with standard tuning..... BTW several months after posting this video I was traveling South America and I bought a mandolin in Peru just to play this one tune in the magical places I would visit throughout my trip It was worth it
Wow....great job dude!! This is the only song I know on the mandolin and now if you don't mind I might have to steal your guitar tuning version. Great work!!!
considering the mandolin is based off fifths like a violin whereas guitar tuning is based off fourths, you did an excellent job figuring this out. bravo
Nice post man thanks for sharing! I find it difficult to play so high up the frets on my guitar, so I played around with the tuning and found that EEBF#C#E with capo on the 3rd works well. Be careful tuning up the B to C#, but this could be an alternative for people with the same problem as me. Cheers
I really like your cover.

Just a point to add for anyone interested, this tuning is utilising the ADGB strings rather than the EADG strings :)
