    As someone who IS overweight I agree with the fact that it can cause a lot of long-term health issues, but for her to say brands are trying to make it seem like a good thing isnt entirely true. We have to wear clothes, right?? Brands should be inclusive to fit every body type. It doesnt take two seconds to go lose weight. So brands should be inclusive because its hard for us to find clothes.

Yes, my family is more prone to addiction and obesity and mental illness and that's why brands target people like us and get us to think it isn't as a big of a deal as it is. It's disgusting and not only is it deadly, it is marketed to poor people bc fast food and snacks are incredibly cheaper then buying fresh food to make yourself. The majority of people who are overweight/obese do NOT have predisposed medical/genetic conditions that cause such, and rather it's due to variables caused/mediated by themselves (food inclinations, stress coping, etc.). While it's okay to recognize that people can/should live their lives the way they want, it's grossly dangerous to say 'nothing is wrong' with eating yourself to dangerous weights. Say what you want about "fat is beautiful" but I'd much rather be of the mind to be capable of accepting myself where I am than to have a mental breakdown over a cupcake from yesterday.🤷‍♀

      The cupcake is not the problem. Not knowing when to eat and how much to eat is. Of course you should love yourself more than anyone you know, but lying to yourself that not working out and doing whatever you want and not NEED is okay is simply self-sabotage

      but it's like,, none of your business? if people are fat and don't want to change, that's their perogative, why do they have to do something about it if you don't like it? it's not even about body inclusivity or whatever, we should just respect for people who are bigger regardless of their health status

    • @diegoborges1348
      @diegoborges1348 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@galibobali I agree we need to respect them and not get into their business. It is the person's problem if they are fat. But advertising it as a correct way of living and being "healthy at any size" is a political move directed towards all of society. And that's not cool, because it isn't healthy or cool. Respect should be widespread, but not defending unhealthiness.

  • @quadling3521
    @quadling3521 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    God all the fat phobia in the comments here… fucks sake, if you actually cared you wouldn’t address it this way. Do you care when anyone else is unhealthy? Are you just as pressed about alcohol ads and social media normalising unhealthy alcohol habits? About unhealthy diets being shilled? No? Are you actually interested in what causes obesity or what the health concerns of obesity are? Or do you just want to feel superior because you aren’t fat? No one who does this actually gives a shit, they just want to judge and act like they know someone or are “telling it like it is” and as someone who genuinely does give a shit about issues to do with public health, the lack of logic pisses me off.
