15th Gwangju Biennale | Pansori, a soundscape of the 21st century

The 15th Gwangju Biennale, titled «Pansori, a soundscape of the 21st century», will run for 86 days, from September 7 to December 1, 2024, at the Gwangju Biennale Exhibition Hall and various locations in Yangnim-dong.
The Event Identity Program(EIP) of the 15th Gwangju Biennale is a visual representation of the Biennale’s aim: the exploration for sustainable space and the resonance of various beings. Morphological resemblances between the silhouettes of mountains and sound waveforms observed in An Gyeon ’s Dream Journey to the Peach Blossom Land (夢遊桃源圖) are called upon to convey the theme of resonating sound in the space where we live. Various species of flora and fauna are processed into silhouettes resembling both outlines of the mountains and soundwaves, which together make up a united landscape, alternating between light and dark variations.
More than 70 artists from around the globe will gather in Gwangju this September to create a world of “new spaces.” See you in September in Gwangju!
