Honey I knew I didn't have pretty privilege from day one. I am not unattractive but I have been told by the actions of people that I am unattractive. I've been meaning to make a podcast about this topic for a very long time. I am still trying to see value in my physical appearance. But it's truly hard to wake up and appreciate the way I look physically. It's truly hard when you've been invisible your whole life and how men won't even acknowledge you as a human being. I have such a hard time trying to find someone to date. However, I am staying single and refraining from the dating scene until I can level myself up physically. I am a solid 5/10.

What world are you living in because you are very pretty! I am female and African American so maybe the way I see beauty is different from men (specifically the men whose attention you want) but maybe you are just hanging out in the wrong spaces? Do you only hang out with groups that are of a different ethnicity than you? Beauty is so relative, honestly. Honestly, I've had white men be more attentive (and low value - aka broke and didn't have a good career - AA men that I didn't want) than the high-value AA men that I actually wanted (and foolishly chased after). Maybe you are ignoring the attention you do get from men you don't like or want (I do the same thing - it doesn't count to me because I don't want them).

That effort results in good energy being put out into the world. Find yourself work that suits who you are and your values. Stop comparing yourself to people on social media. Turn that stuff off! Lookism/pretty privilege is an unfortunate part of life but we don't need to dwell on it! You can be beautiful, you can be wealthy or both and still have a trash personality.

All I’ve ever dated were high value men. I am a Yale graduate living in NYC and I am always surrounded by those men. However, there is a price to pay for dating these men and sometimes you have to weigh the pros and cons. All of my exes are tall, attractive, and Ivy League educated. They have careers making $200k+. The hardest part about dating those men are the women who chase after them. You are constantly fighting for your man even when he’s faithful and loyal. My exes never made me feel like I was competing with other women but I got tired of random women trying to compete for his attention. I'm so tired of the pretty privilege conversation. Pretty privilege only exists in the entertainment world for obvious reasons. People with average regular jobs or life's do not receive this! Ordinary people are intimidated when they see a person who is beautiful and stands out because unlike Hollywood it does not happen as often. People become extremely competitive with attractive people because of their own insecurities and ultimately try to bring them down! If the person interviewing u for a good job is jealous of you then you probably won't get the job! Instead they will probably hire someone less intimidating who will not likely surpass them duh! Let's talk about ugly privilege or basic "average" privilege because that shit is real we're in the Era of inclusion. Being pretty doesn't cut it and could ultimately be your down fall but no one wants to talk about that cuz yall haters!!!! If your pretty u will have to work twice as hard because you will have twice as many haters trying to stop u and block your bag! People only want some thing from you because your attractive for beautiful woman guys just want sex and women just want a negative reaction from you! Sum f*@$&#ing privilege bs!

Leandria TV made a good point that pretty privilege doesn't always work. The pretty girl in the hood still can't get access to the powerful, successful attractive, educated man that she may want because of her social circle and financial status. So, what's the benefit of being pretty if all you can attract is some broke dusty? I knew a very pretty girl but her life was very tragic because she was born into a poor household and didn't attend college. The only way that a woman truly has privilege, pretty or not, is being in the RIGHT circles. Michelle Obama got Barack Obama because she had the brains, the education and the career that helped them to cross paths in the first place!!

@@TheKrista5 well of course, that was only one time. I'm not saying it doesn't matter because it does, putting yourself out there can be very difficult.
What if I were to tell you, there are people who put themselves out there and got rejected hundreds of times, this is not that uncommon. Heck even myself have been rejected many times, as sucky as it was, it made me better.
Are you truly okay with it being fine or do you just don't want to go through the possibility of rejection? If you don't want to go through it, that is totally understandable, heck I took breaks from dating too frfr so I get it

🤣 this is comical to me. Ladies, learn to love yourselves for who you are!!!!! Whether you’re considered “hv” or not! Learn to embrace your “flaws” and the fact that every one of us will get old one day (God willing). Clearly there’s a value placed on women based solely on looks and that doesn’t benefit the average person. What I have come to realize however , is that “Hv “ women still deal with the same transgressions as “none HV” women. The cheating etc. So at the end, who’s really benefiting here. Embrace your singleness and enjoy life!!!!!! It can be a wonderful thing, with our without a man!

It's real!! Especially in America! I've dealt with both sides so I kno!! It's definitely about colorism!! We were ingrained that way for Centuries!! How could it not be🤷🏾‍♀️? These conversations are the only way it goes away!! Ppl like him need not to deny certain truths just to be controversial for an audience!! Not to mention She was just telling her experiences which were REAL! How anyone feel the right to dismiss that is beyond me! She gave plenty of supporting details how she came to her conclusion! Yup and just think about how much men gotta do just to catch up with a non pretty woman. And women, just off the virtue of being women, get much more privilege over men.
I'm not complaining, I embrace it. Us men tend to get out privileged through power, resources and influence later in life, that's cool with me💯 slow and steady wins the race
