  • Getting good aim is not necessarily about talent. If you understand how to train, what to focus on and where to put the effort in, you will see fast improvements in the game.
    In this episode, I will focus on VALORANT and talk about the importance of understanding our own goals. If we want to improve we need to have personal reasons as to why we want to put in the effort. Secondly, we will look at breaking down mechanics a bit, so we can begin to have specific things to focus on. Stay tuned for the next episode when we'll cover how to diagnose our aim in the context of what mechanics we are struggling on and how to train those weaknesses.
    The aim = brain series will be ongoing as there are many topics to go deeper on, but the goal is to help you have practical steps or focuses to takeaway to begin improving one area at a time.
    I'm starting with VALORANT as it serves my larger viewer base currently, but I will endeavour to make these for other games in the future as well.

    when I was first trying to get to immortal, I was watching a ton of Cryo's streams and just mimicking and practicing the way he was isolating angles and peeking, as well as his crosshair placement. yay is another good person to try and replicate when it comes to these mechanics.

    This is an extremely interesting subject, before focusing on aim training I managed to drop 30 controller kills in radiant/praccs, what has changed since I started training was small fights became easier, what mattered was always the game sense and how he approached the situation, FNS is a perfect example of the same, good mechanics unlock new possibilities and outcomes but above all what wins is intelligence, how we react and manipulate the opponent to make mistakes, excellent video as always!

    I've been improving aim to adapt to the harder feel of CS2, i think what's most important for me is finding a home position and straining my grip on the mouse. I can almost visualize the sensor at that point, and i feel if you have it as vertical as you can, it just clicks more when microshooting. Also i think it's important to not too much pressure on the mousepad if anything have the mouse almost floating a bit over it.

    That video literally describes my problem... I am almost master in the voltaic benchmarks (750+ score). I used to be plat 3 in valorant one game away from dia (with a pretty high mmr, playing up to against immo 1). Now I came back from a break and got placed in low gold. The sad part is, I whiff soooo many shots, its not even funny.. I lose gunfights against low elo players. I suspect its my movement that is just noit synced with my aim. But it is just so frustrating and so tilting. I know that there are people in radiant who have worse mousecontrol than me, yet I struggle against low elos.

    one thing i noticed about "slicing the pie" is, the lower i went with my sens, the more i had to pick up my mouse to center it between angles and the more time i had to take between clearing angles, which would leave more opportunity to get peeked or something to go wrong.

      so over time you get bettwr and faster at resetting your mouse, one tip i can give you is to keep your mouse in the same spot before gunfight bc unless you play 80cm you should be able to reset before you get into another fight/finish the engagement you’re in

    getting that crisp pre-aim and crosshair placement is my only goal right now.
    Syncing perfect pre-aim with your movement is so fucking hard. Sometimes I'll get the pre-aim right but I'll strafe slightly too wide or narrow.
    Is it viable to go into a custom game and just repeatedly practice peeking angles over and over and over again?
    EVen then, that only works for common angles but just being able to pre-aim and peek ANY angle at any time with perfect control over the peek(whether wide or narrow) is the skill I want but I lack. It's not just the head level but the absolute control over the distance of the strafe.
    And then on top of that being able to do it while looking at minimap to improve my refrag potential.
    I used to play overwatch and in that game my aim is not even a tiny issue. Like I can just beam people down on soldier or zarya. even a very small erratic target(a small head hitbox of a support strafing and trying to avoid my shots, I'm still able to hit mostly headshots and kill). and it just comes naturally I don't have to think or struggle at all.
    this game, its like pulling teeth just executing a basic peek that i've done a million times

    Hi ddk, I was wondering, how do you go and about change the way you aim? For example, in CS2 it's more benefitial to tap/burst than to spray. If I want to change my aim to shoot more with tapping. How would i structure that?

    • @ddkesports
      @ddkesports  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd say that you just need to work on specifically developing that skill and getting a lot of repetition on it. Playing DMs or something like aim botz where your focus is on this only will be good.
      If there's any part of it that's particularly challenging, mouse control wise, then you can consider using an aim trainer to work on that skill as well to isolate the problem. If it's first bullet accuracy then perhaps static clicking tasks with small targets will be good. If it's difficult to play against targets that spam ADAD then there are tasks that can train that too.
      Just make sure you develop the skill and get repetition so it becomes second nature. I actually noted this question down because it's a good idea for a video. Thank you!

    I'm not sure you know what counter strafing means, but good video nevertheless

    • @ddkesports
      @ddkesports  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think you're referring to not needing to do it in VALORANT because the player velocity stops very quickly, unlike CS, where you need to counter strafe to force your player velocity to 0 otherwise you will continue to slide a bit before stopping.
      This is a good point and shows my CS background. I'll make sure to amend this.
