I just read a bunch of salty kids in forums and reddit complaining about Baauer's set calling it "disappointing" and "the worst performance" of the event, and I kind of understand why. Most of the attendees looking for Baauer were expecting to listen to his average, pop-scripted track that I personally don't enjoy. For me it was the opposite, my expectations were low since what I've heard from Baauer sounds like the typical track made to be a pop hit (features another artist, repetitive beats, featuring rap or Spanish nonsense) BUT THIS SET just BLEW MY MIND. The bass-heavy background rhythm and the echoed-synthesized vocals and instruments that sound ethereal just pulled me into the experience. The video choices for the set were amazing, but it being displayed from YT in a browser has different interpretations. 1. It is lazy and dumb, Baauer knew what he wanted but wasn't really prepared for it. 2. It is artistic and brilliant, sells the experience that it is just Baauer walking us through interesting videos he found and since it is directly from YT in a browser it may circumvent copyright. TL;DR: My overall and personal opinion is, this was one of the greatest and most memorable sets from Secret Sky, and now I'm looking up to find another emotional and mystical production from Baauer, hopefully in the near future.
From what I feel he definitely calculated the visuals to fit the sound and played them live. He was just using youtube as an visual instrument and as a concept of the show. If he wanted I think he could have used some VJing tools, so the choice of YT was intentional.

I'm glad you liked the set because the people that didn't have never seen him stream. You should check it out sometime, he shows alot of his creative process and that he's much more than that track we do not speak of

I went in with zero expectations, only knowing Bauuer as the Harlem Shake guy and I was treated to an incredible set with some outstanding highlights and great vibes throughout. Bookmarked and planning to revisit this often. :)
