They were doing Jaaikaray. The brothers and sisters used to call out to Guru Ji and Akal Purakh / Universe in a Jakara in the times of Jung (battles) and a lot of Classic Sikhs and Nihang (saint warriors) do Jaikaray as "Booooole So Nihal Sat Sri Akal" is a Jakara. Or they do it like "Kushiyan Da Jaaikaray Gajave Nihal Ho Jave". You should listen to Bhai Sukha Singh about Someld the battles. I really got into Sikhi and fell in love with Guru Sahib after learning about it.
