How ye lad im ive a vw passat 2014 2 litre went out this morning to start the car and it won't start its coming up on dash as..oil pressure:
Engine off
Owners manual..do you think the switch is my problem? There is oil in the car cheers
Well!! sorry for the late response lad, my channel was hacked for months and only for the access back and hour ago 😁 it's very hard to tell though without scanning and getting some codes back. Get it scanned so it points you somewhere. Where are ya based? If u are in Kerry I could give it a go.... regardless, it's often the case when the car senses that it doesn't have oil pressure and won't allow it to start and that could easily be because it can't read from the sensor or a false reading. Did you have any other symptoms?
thank you. I have the same problem. i will try to replace the sensor
Glad to help ☺️ I would suggest try to tighten it up first and see if the problem goes away before buying the sensor.
hi
How to release the connector on that switch? I have slightly bigger hands!
Hi, I know it can be pretty tight in a tight space. There's no other good way really. You just have to press the tab on the connector firmly and wiggle the connector out. Some Patience is needed 😅
hi i have oil pressure on when driving but goes off with 3 beeps..
have put new oil pump new senor cleaned everythink up.still get oil pressure
any idea what can it be
Hi ya, Can't tell for sure man. Only thing I would say is I remember when I was doing it, there are two pressure sensors the one I replaced and a second one. Are you getting any Trouble codes, that will help you pin point it. Best of luck 👍🏼
Hi, did problem went away?
Hey 👋 Oh yes, the problem was sorted! One thing I'll suggest is check the sensor first as it could get loose over time and doesn't work properly and throws an error. So you might get away with just tightening it 😁
@@noorshah96 just ordered new sensor 😬 problem came after cylinder head gasket replacement, very much work was done
Fault code says
5580-Oil pressure switch
P164 B 00 [101] Malfunction
Engine goes limp mode and EPC warning light comes instrument cluster and cruise control error 😒
Oh right, it's good to get a new sensor, anyway. Does the error occur when going over 2.5k rpm?I had the same error so you should be okay after this 😉
@@noorshah96 Problem solved ! New sensor and everything now fine !
Oh great to know 👍🏾 Happy motoring 😜
hi i just wonder if replacing the oil pressure sensor solved the problem?
Hi, yes the problem did go away. As I've mentioned in some other comments that try to tighten the old sensor first as if it's any bit loose, you can get these errors. It might save you from buying a new one. Hope you get sorted
Any idea where that sensor could be located in 2.0 TDI DTUA engine model? I've been looking for it for days without succes.
Sorry for the late response, my account was hacked for months and I only got sorted today.... Honestly I don't know of these engines that well and can't tell where to find it. What year is it, some might not have it in the first place....
How to replace the oil pressure sensor on a 2013 Volkswagen Touran Diesel TDI
I'm positive it'll be a very similar task if you have the same engine
Hi I have the Glow plug light coming on that flashes. It has been diagnosed as oil pressure switch/sensor. The light comes on when the car is driven. After driving for a few minutes if I turn the car off and then back on it goes away and stays off. Seems like an intermittent fault. Do you think if the switch is replaced it will solve the issue. Thanks
@Tanuj Shah Hey 👋 By glow plug light you mean the orange light that looks like curled up glowing wire? That's what I had and it's sometimes referred to as Diesel Engine Management Light. But yes I had a very similar situation. The light goes away after you restart and comes on again at certain revs. Did you get it plugged in and it came with the oil pressure sensor code, that should solve it as that's what I had. I hope it helps!
Thanks for video very helpful i have same issue.hope mine get fixed
Glad to be of help bro. Hope you get sorted.
I changed this. Where is the second sensor located?
Oh I can't remember exactly now. Make sure to scan for codes first as you could be changing sensors but still not fix it. You can do a quick Google search for the 2nd sensor location. Best of luck with the fix 👍🏽
Thanks for the vid, definitely helpful 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Glad to be of help
Thank you
Glad it helped ☺️
Thank you for doing this video
Happy to help 😊
Thanks for sharing 🙏
I'm glad it helped you 🙏
Do you know if it’s the same for a 2013
Should be very similar if not exactly the same - hope it helps.
I have exactly the same problem great video going to replace mine tomorrow
Thanks, I hope you get sorted 👍🏾
It's the glow plug warning light that shows up. Have the same problem but man also is sometimes a slow start not sure if its related
*mine I meant sorry not man😅
Not fully sure. But if there's a glow plug light and slow starting, that's more than likely the glow plugs themselves. Not fully related to this sensor.
@@noorshah96nope new plugs and the glow plug light shows when the car hits about 60km. Everything is the same as what you described and diagnostic says its the oil pressure sensor. I'm just letting you know the three curls is the glow plug light indicator cause diesel engine management light is different so people will get confused unfortunately. Great video though atleast people won't have to spend a fortune in garages
way too long flapping your gums let's get to it.
Appreciate the feedback - I have improved since then 😅 Some of the newer videos are shorter. But sometimes it's needed to explain the problem a bit.
Error sensor not disapered why..? i change 2 sensors
Oh strange 😣 what error are you getting?
@@noorshah96 P164B00 i Change 2 sensores its problem continue
Oh 😳 I'm sure you would have read this thread, there's some useful information there www.audiworld.com/forums/a4-b8-platform-discussion-128/low-oil-pressure-p164b-ecm-light-over-3700rpm-2936612/
