Wyatt definitely did things that show he belongs and he deserves more snaps. I agree with Quay though in a sense that he had his best year in Hafley's defense. Him and Cooper should be our two stud nickel LBs for years to come.
Walker 1 year extension for sure. I think with Wyatt and his injury history I would also go to a 1 year extension. Just can’t see giving them those type of salaries based on their play and recurrent injuries.
I think both of quay and wyatt we gotta keep these guys . Really young and seeing the results on the field over the years . Please Green Bay don’t let these guys go
The fact folks want quay to leave but want Watson to stay shows me most of yall don’t know football. 😂 Quay and cooper is a deadly combination and we didn’t see the full potential yet
I said "No" on Quay Walker before you even finished your sentence. I think I might have some Walker issues from the start of the year. If the Packers staff say they are very pleased with Walkers progression then I'll take it to the bank. They know more than I do.
You don’t know what you’re talking about quay is our lead tackler with even being out for as many games as he has he’s a good player who’s starting to step up, ofc he didn’t do good in a terrible defensive scheme before Hafley he will get better
@@bobby2x913being a leading tackler as the leading snap getter at middle linebacker is not a feather in someone’s cap. It’s just normal football. Quay is one of the worse starting linebackers in football and has never graded as a positive player for the team in a season. Couple games that showed better upside this past season, but a couple out of 50 isn’t any reason to break the bank on someone.
@ he’s not graded because pff is ass just like how they graded Tucker krafts run blocking low for each game when he is an impactful run blocker. Quay walker missed 4 games this season and still had 102 total tackles and 76 solo tackles which puts him 26th in the league and that’s with missing 4 games. That means he would have had 92 SOLO tackles which puts him top 5 of all defensive players in the league and if you go check his snap count it’s not as high as you think. You still have to be good to do that and for that many solo tackles he’s elite. You’re one of those people who just don’t watch football or know what you’re talking about but we’ll see how much Green Bay likes him and what he does next season
@@bobby2x913 uhh try andy Herman’s grades on Quay. He’s probably more informed than anyone putting out content on the packers since he watches and grades every packer every single play . You showed in the list of dline salaries where you think Wyatt CAN get to in 2025 but where in that list does he fall with regard to where he HAS played? I’m guessing it’s well beneath that $13m area. I wouldn’t franchise either guy. Maybe offer a 1 year extension that has guarantees of MAYBE half as much as those 5th year options with performance bonuses to earn more
Gut has had a lot of first round misses, only 2 hits out of 8? If a guy’s on the middle ground of extend or not, he’s going to extend because it helps Gut earn his own next contract
All of our first round picks are a joke. We need to outsource our first round picks to somebody who can pick actual first round talent. I dont think the ones we pick would be 4th or 5th round picks. Or at least trade your picks in free agency for a player you know can play the position and have some impact. Give 2 first rounders to Cleveland for the edge rusher they have. I’m sure with the Watson contract issue they can use the draft picks to save money
Quay 5th year is a no brainer given he's the nucleus of the defense...Wyatt should be declined, yet given the year extension... To see if he can handle being a true DT... Resign Slaton and Draft a big guy... Any player with snaps under Karl Brooks excluding LVN should not be on the 53 next year...
No brainer? It’s a no brainer to not pay quay Walker a ton of money for grading in the 50s via PFF, being negatively graded every year by Andy Herman, being negatively graded and negative impacts to all the advanced analytics, and being one of the worst starting linebackers in football.
@Matt-yq3gq .... When you're done ranting whoever is available that will take his spot will have the defense jump from top 10 to top 15... That's not an improvement clearly...Without Quay the defense is different and not in a good way, learn football...
@RahnOzzy I love your “learn football” comment. Include DVOA and EPA and I just gave you pretty much every metric in which people use to back something up. Also every packers analyst doesn’t speak highly on Quay, former players, listen to Mike wahle speak on the guy. So how is that you know so much more about Quay but everything else is wrong? They weren’t worse with Quay in there either, have you watched the 3 years of him playing when they had plenty of bad games with lots of mistakes? Outside of stokes he was the lowest graded packers defender in terms of net impact on the team, he had some of the most games of being a negative performer on the D and the team, near worst in per snap of defense grade, again just stokes enagbare and wooden behind him. And the night and day difference between someone like cooper coming in and being an absolute stud in not even half the snaps on the year in compared to what Walker has done in 3 seasons should be another indictment on the guy. Even Wilson, a flawed player in his own right had splash games and plays beyond Quay. Why anyone would want to give Quay the 5th year option would either be based on bad process in their judgement on his past performance, or that you’re banking on the upside being unleashed in years 4 and beyond because quay did indeed play well in like a 2-3 game stretch after the bye, but that’s it. Is that really worth paying him a top 5 per year LB salary, and it arguably took having cooper with him to even realize any sort of potential for a short period of time?
@Matt-yq3gq Cooper did in his rookie year the same Quay did his rookie year...only difference is new is shiny... Quay has been running with nobody beside him the minute Campbell got injured...second year and gave just about the same play Cooper gave when he was in by himself with Wilson and McDuffie... Quay issue is trying to fill the weak link area by another LB that leaves him looking like the weak link...Stokes graded low due to injuries every year, not how he play because to be fair he didn't get abused like Bullard Williams McKinney Alexander or Valentine...only gave up that goofy TD against the lions...yet the worst rated defender...Evan Williams only looked good in the beginning of the season, week 8 he showed how average he is...hes a depth player not a starter Of all the LBs available, Bobby Wagner and Lavonte David are old, Dre Greenlaw has two years max on his Achilles but come to Green Bay they would be through by week 1, Nick Bolton can't cover, Ernest Jones is purely a run stopper but not better than Quay, Zach Baun is staying in Philly, I'm not trusting any LB from the Jets, maybe Eric Kendricks but then our LB room would be too light.. Packers are in the same situation with Quay and they were with Love last year.... Whether he's proved enough or not, the question remains, who is available that is better..?
