    I've had one of these for almost 2 years and it has been the best. When I pull it out for the first mowing session of the year, it takes two pulls to get it started. After that, it starts on the first pull. It's a beast when it comes to cutting grass and tall, thick weeds. The thick strings last all afternoon or until you try to tackle weeds with stalks bigger than your finger.

      I agree that’s my favorite part been able to start this machine on the first pull also is great to mow thick weed and baby bamboo, thanks for your comment 💪

    I bought my ST100 5 years ago. On the way out of the dealer I asked myself now why in the hell did I buy this? I have never asked myself that question again. I have asked myself what took me so long to not notice just how I needed one of these in my lawn business. Anyone who owns this machine will note they are very easy on fuel usage. My advice is buy your string in bulk reel and cut your own strings.

    • @joseoneway5065
      @joseoneway5065  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My friend I asked the same question myself but after my first Overgrow grass everything changed,
      You have no idea how happy I feel to own this piece of equipment especially in the beginning of the spring Lol because that’s when we get those overgrown lawns on new clients, anyway I agree buying string in bulk because that’s really Spence buying small packages of 12 strings, but the best part is how my back is not feeling overcharged anymore from the weed eater,

      @@joseoneway5065 I have one Cub Cadet 4 cycle string trimmer but I limit it's usage because of the weight factor. My main string trimmer usage is my Cub Cadet 2 cycle machines, plus those machines are known fuel sippers. A word to those starting out. Not all bulk string trimmer line is created equal. My advice may seem trivial but I cut my first lawn 75 years ago. I am now 82 years old and do all my own cutting, trimming, blowing and maintenance including tire changing. I own many sets of blades, so when I take a used blade off I can install a sharp one without having getting up/down twice. The product I use to do all my machine cleaning is called Purple Power. I love my job and the smell of fresh cut grass.

  • @Kurtdog63

    Thanks for the review. Eye and ear protection a must on any job involving motors for sure. Mowing overgrown properties can be very hazardous to mowers with blades. I have been mowing for about 15 years. I have run over steel pipes, hammers, steel fence posts, large rocks, wire, etc. This machine appears to be the ticket for first time clearing of overgrown properties with unknown hazards. How do you adjust the cutting height? Do the "strings" seem to hold up pretty well or have to be replaced often? Thanks again.

    • @joseoneway5065
      @joseoneway5065  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the heads up on this I know for the first time cleanup this will be dangerous to not know what is under the tall grass, and Yes PP is always the best way to go,
      There is no way to adjust the height you need to keep lifting the machine and the strings for this won’t last much so I was not happy on that Part Lol

    I seriously considered buying a string mower similar to that (different brand, engine can run without the string attachment running) for my yard, but in my situation I simply need something wheel driven, because my yard is very steep.
    Wheel driven ones of these are not easy to come by (in Europe) and comparatively expensive. So much so, that I can comfortably look at what we call "Kreiselmäher" in Germany and Google wants me to believe that translates to rotary mower (basically a vertically rotating drum, where at the lower end 2 or 4 free rotating blades do the cutting).
    Normally you see such mowers as attachments for tractors with two of these drums, but you can get these as walk behinds with a single one.
    Does leave a swath behind to collect, though - but what're you gonna' do, if your only other option is the classic weed eater and your knees protest at only the thought about that...(I said it's steep, didn't I?)

    • @joseoneway5065
      @joseoneway5065  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Thanks for your thoughts, I agree for lawns like your this will be more painful for you lower back because you have to over push the mover back and forward, and will be more difficult because of the system Disign not having a front wheel, in my case I did purchase this for a property that is super steep, maybe one day I’ll be able to record a video about it but is not easy, I know this work better on level soil but I see so many things better using this string trimmer instead of my regular weed eater, is great to know that you know a lot about equipment I’m not good on that but that’s la for sharing your thoughts with me, stay safe 🤜💥🤛

    • @joseoneway5065
      @joseoneway5065  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      hey man thanks for stoping by, this machine is powerful also great to avoid back pain, the best you can do is take the gas tank off and remove all the gas also if you can take the gas from the carburetor will nice too, clean the spark plug add new gas and some water treatment removal, into the gasoline.
