Great Idea mate, I have to start doing this now, also I have a technique for making little paper houses and then hardening and texturing them with resin and it works really good, basically fold them up and apply the resin really thin one side at a time, takes about a week to make one but their so small I can do them in batches of like 100 and when you’re done u just paint them up.
I haven't needed to use any but just looking online it seems that cooking spray like PAM might be good. I'll have to try it with my more finicky molds. WD40 might cause some paint adhesion problems but I've not tested that yet. Thanks for the question!

Pure genius, this is awesome.
Thanks Thomas!
Thats a fantastic idea Brian...thank you much !!!!
That is so cool! Thanks for sharing this. I will start collecting these little packages.
Glad you liked it John! Have fun and make stuff.
I use perfectcast. It's rock hard, sets up quick, and is pretty cheap
Cool, I've not tried their casting material yet. Thanks for the info.
That's just super cool!
Thank you!
Kick arse again Brian, thanks man :)
Cheers!
Did you use a shake table or any other method to get the bubbles out of the plaster while it was curing?
Nope. I just tapped them on the table a bit.
Looks way better than fucking around with foam.
Damn....thanks for a great video and ideas. But I'm going to use 2 part resin (with mold release) and see a whole bunch of sci-fi models being built.
Awesome vid. Where did you get the minis (especially the mechs)?
Thanks! The yellow mechs are Warbots from 1982. You can order those from Mirliton Miniatures. The tanks and other mech are from Reaper's CAV line.
Thanks so much for getting back to me.
Cheers buddy!
how would the plaster react to a mould release? say pan spray or wd40?
