I miss your videos, I suffer for depression on winter time & Christmas. I pray, read my bible, listen gospel music, go to church twice weekly. Nighttime is worse and long night I live alone in apartment, God help us every single day, we need your mercy Lord in Jesus name. Thanks for sharing this video AWESOME ❤🙏
Thank you so much for your kind words and for the prayer, Mirta. I’m praying and thanking God for you. 🙏
Hey Everyone! I apologize for the audio in this video. I received numerous comments that the background music drowns out my voice. I haven't found a way to adjust the audio of an existing TH-cam video without removing it and fixing the problem. If I do that I'll lose all the views and comments. I don't want to do that. So, again, I apologize and I'll do better in the future. Thanks for your patience, and thanks for watching!
I think the balance in this video is just right. I like your choice of music ❤️.
I loved this video, thank you. New subscriber … I just lost my husband very suddenly and watching this video brought a sense of comfort. I’ve been feeling overwhelmed with the grief. It’s so heavy and I miss him so much. I feel alone and scared in the world. Thank you for the reminder to draw near to Jesus and spend time in the Word. I feel like God is my only source of hope in getting through this loss and overwhelming grief.
Lizzie, I am so sorry for your loss. I have been in your shoes, so I understand the pain you are experiencing. Sometimes the grief crashes over us like a tsunami. God will carry you through your journey. Grief is a journey and we take it one step, one day at a time. The Lord has your healing in His plan and you can trust Him with your future. "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11. Jesus is and will be your constant companion. You are never alone in the world. I'm praying for you.♥
This is the vlog I didn’t even know I needed. Thank you for being so transparent. You inspired me to draw nearer to the Lord and to be hopeful in Him and His plan for my life. Thank you 🙏 ❤
I’ll second your comment.🥰
You are so welcome, Desiree. I'm so glad the video has inspired you to draw closer to the Lord and be hopeful in Him and His plan for your life. That is such an encouragement to me. To God be the glory!♥
It is good to let us share your lows, as well as, your highs. It shows your humanity and is much appreciated. This video was heaven sent. I am enduring my own struggles at the moment and can relate. I am also trying to enhance my diet.Especially, adding salmon and fish for Omega-3 s. Self care is important. I hope you will feel better soon. ❤
You are so kind, Eleanor. Thank you for your encouragement! It means a lot. I'm so glad you found the video relatable. God bless you.♥
Thank you sweet Nancy for giving us your time and these lovely videos.
I pray God will take away all your seasonal sadness and give you good sleep and rest.
Thank you for sharing God’s word with us!! 😊❤️🙏
You're so welcome, Deborah! Thank you for the prayers.♥
Hi Nancy. I’m so glad to see you back. I’m sorry that you’re having a hard time. I know what you mean about the coming of winter. Even when I was a young kid, around Labor Day I got sad. Not because school was starting, but because I knew the long winter was coming. I grew up in NY. My parents retired to Florida when I was 30, and my then husband, daughter, and I followed them. We had a son, I got divorced, and raised my kids there, staying for 28 years. My parents have since passed, my kids grew up, I got sick of the hurricane threats, and about 16 years ago I took a job transfer to western NC, where I met my current husband and live now. We have short, moderate winters, and a true four seasons. The only place I ever hated winter was in NY. So I completely relate to what you’re going through. If you lived closer I’d swing over, give you a big hug, and take you thrifting! And maybe out for bagels. Take care and be good to yourself. This was a great video!
You are so sweet, Sue. Thank you! Hugs, thrifting and bagels are always welcome.😉
I’m new to your channel. It’s so refreshes me and inspires me to hear and see that God is always close to us, in good times as well as in our not so good times. The simplicity of your cottage life reminds me of the way I strive to live my life. Finding joy in the simple things. Fresh flowers on the table, candles lit, and lovely music. Enjoying every moment at a slower pace. I’m 73 and try to enjoy the small still moments of my life, even though life is busy and it’s hard to find time to journal and read. But those things are so important for well being. I enjoyed your video and I’ll be back to see more of them.
Hi Jackie! It's so nice to meet you. I think we are on the same page about what makes a lovely life. Appreciating simple things, living in the moment, cultivating gratitude and taking time to sit at the Savior's feet. More Mary than Martha. 🙂 God bless you.
I loved this! It’s like spending time with a friend 🩷
Aw, you're the best, Karen! Thank you. I love it that you feel that way.♥
Such a heartfelt and relatable video! Your openness about coping with SAD and embracing self-care routines is so inspiring. I loved how you shared your morning with us, from journaling to meal prep-it felt so comforting and real. It’s a beautiful reminder to prioritize ourselves, especially during these darker months. Sending you warmth and encouragement as you navigate the season!
Thank you so much for your kind words, Vicki! It means a lot to me to share my journey and hopefully be an encouragement to others. God bless you.♥
I will be praying for you. Yes, it is good to share our honest moments when we are struggling. I appreciated that. Thank you!
Thank you for your prayers, Shelly. I appreciate it. God bless you.♥
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I was missing your thoughtful and informative views. Please continue to show us the real you… sharing is very helpful to many of us who also struggle. Many blessings Nancy!
I appreciate your encouraging words, Brianna. God bless you!♥
I live in northern Minnesota where we have cold weather mid September to early July. I can appreciate how the season makes you sad. I welcome it this year because the summer was so oppressively hot and my air conditioner broke ruining my furnace along the way. I replaced the furnace and will replace the air/c in May or June. I want to move but dread it at the same time. I’ve been looking for a recent video from you and am happy to have found one. Please rejoice in the season. Soon Christmas will be upon us once again and it’s a favorite time of year. Don’t be sad. Your new bowl is beautiful. I purchased one recently but it arrived damaged. I just returned it and plan to look at thrift stores. I hope you have a joyful holiday season.
I’m so glad you found the video, Cynthia! Sorry about your furnace and A/C. I replaced my furnace a couple of years ago, so I know the shock to the wallet that is. Hope you find a bowl you like at a thrift store. Thanks for the encouragement. This, too, shall pass. God bless you.♥
Nancy, I’m 78 years old. I think when fall comes we all get this depression type feeling you can’t be outside like we were in the summer. And like you, I need the sun and I don’t like having to stay in all the time but with prayer and perseverance.. We will get through it. Like you I try to keep busy with things that I like to do inside. And there are days that I may find myself just sitting. I read my Bible. And I rely on my Bible and pray. It gets me through each day and we’ll wake up tomorrow and it will be spring again. That’s what keeps me going is tomorrow, so bless you.💗
I agree, Linda. Keeping busy, reading our Bible, and praying is most important. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. God bless you.🙏
Hello Nancy, thank you so much for deciding to post this video. I, at times, get down due to just basic life experiences. I feel a little down when summer comes to SoCal. Hot, hazy, some smog, crowds and noise. I live at the beach and of course it is a popular place in the summer. I yearn for fall and winter with the cool, crisp air and more quiet times. Just the opposite of you but still I understand how yu feel. You are in my prayers and I know with the faith you have in our heavenly father you will feel joy again. I like Eccl 3:1-8 and verse 11, to remind me of Gods timing in life. You help and mean a lot to your followers.
Aw, you're so sweet and kind, Irene. I appreciate you! I lived in SoCal for about 18 years, so I know how busy the summers get. And all that haze and smog. But boy! Living at the beach would be a dream come true for me, although I'm sure it's annoying to permanent residents when the tourists come through. I just love the ocean, and walks on the beach. Thanks for reminding me of Eccl 3. So good to read that again! God bless you!♥
I love your soft spoken eloquent words. You are so gentle and thoughtful. I have a lot of stress in my life and feel I am always frustrated. I need to learn from you. I pray that you our melancholy feeling will subside so you can enjoy your beautiful life. God bless you ❤
Thank you, Lisa, for your kind words. I appreciate them so much. I'm sorry you are stressed and frustrated. Lean on Jesus. It may help you to mediate on one scripture verse throughout the day. Philippians 4:6-7 has comforted me through the years: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." May God bless and keep you close.♥
Thank you for sharing your feelings and struggles so freely. So many of us can identify with what you're going. I'm 71 and still working. Fortunately, I can work from home. I have never been a winter person and they definitely take a toll on my "joy". I got my negative outlook from my father (Eeyore - woe is me) and fell into a trap of beginning the winter dread in June just after to longest day of the year. I finally realized how controlling that was. In the last 5 years I have tried so hard to enjoy the beauty of winter and the benefits of winter. It's easier when I don't have to get out in it. Prayer and scripture do help . . . keep it up. Good luck!
Debbie, you're right about winter being easier when you don't have to get out in it. There were several years where I was a homemaker only, and it seemed like I didn't really have down days then. For me I think it's more about the cold than it is the lack of sun. I just don't like to be cold, nor do I like shoveling snow. Okay. . .enough complaining. LOL Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I also write when I get angry or sad. Reading good books help too. You have been missed🥰
You're right, Lee, reading good books is such a great way to relax. 😊
What a beautiful video❤. I'm sorry you are not feeling well. I learned what depression is when I got sick 2 years ago. I'm in Florida and like you I get really down when may - and mid November comes because I can't deal with the summer temperatures and my condition makes it even harder..... however, my faith in God, my fur Baby (dog) have been my strength and of course my husband ❤️. For the first time in my life I was introduced to a therapist ( due to tabu's) I had not wanted that help.... until I just couldn't deal with my sadness because of my health issues....I realized what a blessing my therapist's help has been to me, if I would have known the difference she had made in my life....i would have asked for help sooner.....but God has a perfect timing Many blessings and prayers 🙏 to you ❤
I'm so glad you found a good therapist. Yes, God's timing is always perfect. We're so blessed to know Him personally! God bless you!♥
Thank you so much for sharing, It helped me this morning before getting ready for work, your devotional time and sharing your struggle with this time of year, the sadness, depression, etc....helps to know I'm not alone in these thoughts and feelings, I look to God everyday for the strength to keep going. God bless You with His Peace always, you are a blessing, I love all the Word you share on your channel!
I appreciate your kindness so much, Patricia. I'm glad the video helped you. God is good! May He bless you always.♥
Hi Nancy, my heart goes out to you. Even though you are in the dumps, your video was touching and helpful. Now, this may sound a little odd, but when I am super stressed, sad or struggling, I will take a ton of God's word and incorporate it into a personal letter from Him to me. I will read it out loud from Him to me. I keep it by my bedside to read especially at bedtime. I can't tell you how much that helps me through trials. You are doing a great job plowing through with Him and I know He will bring you back up to the mountain top. Love and hugs
Thanks so much, Sherry! I'm glad the video was helpful. Incorporating scripture the way you described is a wonderful way to personalize it. God bless you.
I applaud TH-camrs, as I feel it takes courage & strength to "put yourself out there."
Thank you for sharing the good & not so good times with us. You put a lot of time into the making of this video & it was great!!
I, too, live in a single wide mobile home that I purchased in late 2020.
I send a very big virtual hug 🩵 to you from the east side of Texas. God Bless you🙏
Hi, Wanda! I appreciate your kindness. And I love Texas and Texans! Nicest people I've ever met. I lived there for two years in Hill Country. Very pretty. Thanks for the hug, and right backatcha! God bless you, too!♥
Hi, Nancy! I always enjoy your videos, and I enjoyed this format too. I think many viewers will benefit from all your tips and advice. Thanks!
Hi Danielle! Thank you for "looking for me". (smile) Yes, I am open to getting a pet. Probably a cat. Thank you for the scripture. So appropriate! God bless you!♥
I loved this video. You are so real and express what so many experience. Thank you and I pray you have a Happy Thanksgiving
Thank you so much, Dolores. I did have a nice Thanksgiving. I hope you did, too.♥
Bless your heart, I feel for you, because I have days of depression myself after having two failed back surgeries which have completely changed my life with more pain than before I had the surgeries. Have a happy Thanksgiving.
Sheila, I'm so sorry you have chronic pain. You are an amazing woman who always gives encouragement in your comments. I'll be praying for you.♥🙏
I really appreciated this video Nancy. I'm sorry you are feeling down. I'm 68 and dealing with pain, I feel the same with the cold dark days.
I would like more of these videos, oh my that sandwich looked yummy but was almost bigger than you are. Haha
I hope you find your spirits lifted soon, Happy Thanksgiving to you.
Thank you, Julie. I'm so sorry you have pain. Praying Jesus will relieve it. Thanks, too, for your feedback on more videos like this. It helps me plan what to do in the future. God bless you!♥
I enjoyed the video! I was in the mood for some calming dialogue as I colored in my adult coloring book (so fun with the right book and the right markers!). I, too, have seasonal depression, so I can relate.I really admire your healthy eating as well as your minimalist mindset. I need to be more like that. God bless you, and Happy Thanksgiving.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! Coloring is a wonderful way to relax, I love it. We can always learn from one another. And God bless you, too! ♥
Hi Nancy! You're certainly not alone feeling melancholy as winter arrives. I love that you shared your feelings but also how to manage them. It's possible to be grateful and give thanks in spite of sadness. I love fall but definitely shift into mourning mode that summer is over. It's a blessing that you talk about it to those who understand completely. Thanks so much for spending time with us. Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving, Beautiful Friend! ❤
Marlene, I love that you acknowledged being grateful even in the midst of sadness. It is absolutely possible to feel joy and grief simultaneously. We can do all things through Christ, who strengthens us. God bless you, my friend, and thank you for your continual encouragement.♥
You are so authentic and delightful!
That's so nice of you to say. God bless you.♥
Beautiful Nancy and I can relate. Very inspiring. God bless you, Linda
Linda, I appreciate you, thank you so much! God bless you, too.♥
I have that hoodie 😊. But I’m happy you’re well and are comforted with the presence of Jesus Christ. He is my comfort as well, I usually feel the way you’re feeling when Summer comes 😅. …Winter is my favorite time of year. I’m guessing this is because I’m in the south. Reading and writing is soooo therapeutic, making food is too. May Christ continue to be your peace and wellness! ❤. I have been enjoying your blog too.
I feel the same about summer and I’m in the South too.
Hi Kierra! Thanks for sharing! From what I know of S.A.D., some people are affected just like you. . .in spring and summer. I appreciate your kind words of encouragement. Have a lovely Thanksgiving!♥
I totally agree on the fresh sheets - it’s a wonderful way to end the day! Great video - thanks for sharing so honestly.
I agree! It's such a small thing that can make a big difference. I appreciate you watching, Brett!♥
I was thinking of you today and hoping you would be doing a video. I have also been down and I think during Thanksgiving and Christmas I miss my family who are gone and the leaves being gone seems to make me sad. My body is older and the cold causes my body to ache. But I am thanking God for all the small things, anything that I can think of. Writing down the small things that cause me to smile. I'm thankful for your videos. I love the word of God and the music you play which is very soothing. God bless you.
Thank you so much, Linda. Living with a thankful heart despite how we're feeling is, I think, a sign of a mature Christian. God bless you.♥
A truly beautiful and transparent look into your life and your faith. Many of us struggle with these feelings and it is comforting to know we are not alone. Gods blessings dear lady, I enjoy your content and insight very much. I am 78 yo. Prayers.❤
Thanks so much, Judy! I appreciate your kind words. God bless you and keep you!♥
Your video’s are always uplifting even when you are down! I am glad you shared this and your day it’s very inspiring for me. I look forward to the daytime but the evenings are hard. I hope you had a wonderful time at your friends home, there is so much to be said about a change in your environment to help look at things differently.
So true, Jackie! My friend is a kindred spirit, and we just had so much fun talking and laughing, thrifting and playing with her cat Daisy. I miss her (both my friend and Daisy)!♥
Your home is lovely and cozy. I love that you have a little foyer. This may sound strange, but fall, early winter, and spring are my favorite times of the year. I live in South Fl, (have grandchildren here) but childhood was spent in MI. And I lived in central Texas for 11 yrs, where the seasons change. Is it possible for one to have too much sun, and long for cool change, SAD in FL? Strange indeed. It sure is interesting that we all have different feelings towards it all.
Thank you for sharing your day. And the sandwich looks delicious! I struggle with proper nutrition, I'm an emotional eater. You're so right about it being important to eat right.
Thank you again and God bless us all! 🙏
No, it doesn't sound strange. Too much heat can be tiring. Florida is a big change from MI. Thanks for your kind words. God bless us all, indeed!♥
Enjoyed your vlog. I also loved the idea of the heating blanket! I think my cats will love it too.
I'm sure they would, Cameroo!♥
I'm so sorry you're going through this and I'm sure you know you're not alone. As I get older I experience waves of immense sadness that come on suddenly and without warning. I take Fluoxetine (generic Prozac) that takes the edge off just enough so I'm able to move forward without being swept away. Our bodies are changing and sometimes we need that extra help to balance things out. Praying for you. ❤❤
Thank you, Eileen, for your prayers. I will be praying for you, as well. This reminds me how much God wants us to encourage one another. May He bless you, sweet lady.♥
First time here & found this so comforting & soothing. I love day-in-the-life videos!
I'm so glad! I plan to do more like this.♥
I loved this video! You are such a beautiful soul. 😊. When you were doing your makeup routine I had to smile. My mom had beautiful skin (even in her 80’s) and she used nothing but Ponds cream. I think I’m going to start using it because I can’t find a good facial cream.
I sure look forward to your upcoming Christmas decorations. I just love your home. 🤗. Thank you for sharing it with us. ♥️
Hey Nancy, thank you for the heart felt video. I too have depression, more often than I like. I just keep working on it, it seems lately it's working on me. I keep reminding myself to pace myself. That bagel sandwich looked delicious, and you're right it does help to eat healthy while the gloomy times are here. I seem to grab the sweets that are hard to resist. I try to add walnuts to my cereal and my salads-they are so good for us. Take care and thank you again.
Hi Regina! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Thanks, too for the reminder to pace ourselves. That's important, and I hope others will see your comment and consider if they are mindfully doing that. God bless you.♥
I could say I stumbled across your channel but God lead me to this channel! I have so much in common with you, the holiday seasons are very depressing to me and you just showed me by starting the morning in a calm and clean environment with your coffee and candles you have your alone time with God our savior and Lord! Oh how HE loves us! Thank You so much with sharing this video! I subscribed to your channel. Praying that you and if someone reads my comment to don’t give up and just know you are not alone! 🙏🤗
What a lovely comment, Deann. I'm so glad God lead you here. Thank you for subscribing, and I hope to see more of you in the future. God bless you!♥
I just wanted to say I really enjoyed this video! It resonated with me, and I could really connect with the message you brought. I hope to see more content like this from you in the future ❤
Thank you so much, that means a lot to me! I'm happy it resonated. 🙏 Also, your comment about what you would like to see in the future is very helpful as I plan for the future. God bless you!♥
My favorite psalms is Psalm 91. It always makes me feel loved and safe. You’re beautiful and healthy looking and that’s a blessing.
Aw, thank you. I am blessed with good health, and am very thankful to God for that! God bless you!♥
Thanks for sharing this video. The winter is difficult for me, too. I will be praying for you, friend.
That sandwich looked delicious. I will have to try one of those soon. I hope to see more videos like this from you☺️ May God Bless you!
Thanks, you're so sweet Ashley. I so appreciate your prayers, and I will pray for you, as well. I also appreciate your comment about seeing more videos like this one. It really helps me moving forward. God bless you, too, my friend!♥
Thank you for sharing Nancy; I too suffer from depression on and off and also find solace in knowing I am not alone as Jesus loves me no matter and gives me hope!
You nailed it, Jean! Thank you for sharing this!♥
I've been struggling with SAD for a long time, and as I get older, it seems to be getting worse.
Recently, my naturopath recommended 5-HTP, and it has made a significant difference for me.
She also suggested other supplements to support serotonin levels and help manage depression symptoms, including tryptophan, St. John's wort, and probiotics.
Thank you for sharing. I'm glad these things are working for you. There's a lot to be said for probiotics, I know. I did read recently where probiotics are better absorbed from food than from supplements. All very interesting. Be well!♥
Hello.I'm a first time viewer. I enjoyed your video because I can relate to so many of the same issues, likes and dislikes as you. I truly appreciate the Word of God that you read from the Bible. I hope you continue to make your videos as now I see that I'm not the only one that suffers from depression and sadness from no apparent reason. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas.God Bless
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment, Donna. I'm happy that you found some encouragement from the video. God bless you, as well!♥
So glad to see you! Enjoy all your videos.
Aw, thanks so much, Nancy! I'm glad you enjoy them.♥
I suffered from SAD my entire life in New Jersey. I would go to tanning salons to left my spirit. I moved to Florida 8 years ago at 56 years old. I feel so much better.
All that Florida sunshine has to help! I'm glad you're feeling a lot better.♥
I am sorry you are not feeling well. I missed your videos. It is so nice to see you not rushing the seasons. I do look forward to seeing your classic Christmas decorations in your sweet abode, and I hope you will do more inspiring crafts soon. I myself love the colder, and "hibernating" months. I feel my little home is like a chipmunk's nest much as Tasha Tudor felt of her home in Vt. close to where I used to live and was born. May God bless you at this time and uplift you in His boundless love.
Thank you so much, Jane. I've always been intrigued by Tasha Tudor. . .the way she lived her life. God bless you, as well.♥
I'm thankful to the Lord, finding your channel today. I'm from Australia (Sydney) and struggled through a heat wave this week before spring , by the calendar, has ended. I become anxious at the approach of high summer - January through March here - there can be hotter days here and there into April. Northern hemisphere or southern we're always making adjustments. Psalm 42 really speaks to how we can develop low spirits seasonally. I found this so interesting and your recommendation of your flosser is helpful- thank you for including the link.🙏✍❤
Hello Helen! I'm so happy to meet an Aussie! Once when my late husband, our young son, and I were on a camping vacation in California (years, and years ago) we met a couple from Australia who had a son with the same name as our son, and he was the same age. The boys had so much fun playing together, and we enjoyed the parents so much. Anyway, your comment brought back a fond memory. Thank you, and God bless you. Praying your spirits lift soon! God bless you.♥
Hi Nancy, That sandwich looks delicious! Thanks for sharing - I'm praying for you. Praise music helps me a lot. Blessings!
Yes, praise music is a great way to lift the blues! God bless you, Mary Lou!♥ P.S. The sandwich is very good!
So happy I ran across your channel! Love the video - very calming and great perspective. Your bagel looks absolutely delicious and I’ll be making for my husband and me. Have a blessed day.
You are so welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I hope you enjoy the bagel sandwich. God bless you!♥
Dear Nancy, I'm so glad you posted a video. I actually came looking for you yesterday thinking I may have missed your latest video. I don't do very well in the winter months either but I have a dog and he is such good company and makes me laugh. I don't like being cold so any outdoor activity isn't that enjoyable and I miss being outside. Would you be open to adopting a cat or a dog? They can offer so much comfort and in turn you would be saving a life. Just a thought. Isa. 58:11 “And the LORD will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail." Have a good week and thanks for sharing with us! ♥🙏
Hi Danielle! Thank you for your thoughtful comments. I am so grateful for your support! I am totally open to adopting a cat, and will be visiting our local shelters soon.♥
Thank you for honestly sharing how you are doing. I don't have any answers, but I hope you will begin to feel better. Love and hugs to you.
Thank you, Marie. Love and hugs are always welcome!♥
Thank you for sharing your heart!
I really appreciated this video. ❤
I'm so glad, Candy. God bless you!♥
I’m a mental health counselor and a Christian that has had anxiety and depression since childhood. I’m now 64 years old and only now have I learned to accept it as part of health issue. I’ve found many of my clients have suffered in silence, because they have been told at one time their faith is lacking or their not depending on the Lord enough, so they hide it. I deal with it medically and teach them the self care you just demonstrated. If they’re dealing with SAD and work, going and coming home in the dark, I recommend them to purchase a SAD light to sit under as they start their day. There are several types in Amazon from table top to floor lamp style. One of my clients sits under it and colors to relax before getting ready to go to work and states it puts her back in her happy place with the smell of the crayons 🖍 😊
Thanks so much for sharing this, Luanne. Your clients are very blessed to have you as their counselor. God bless you, my friend! P.S. Love the "smell of the crayons". I totally get that!♥
Your home is so warm, cozy, and inviting. Thank you for reading out of the Psalms it touched my heart!
Walking outside always lifts my mood even in winter. Just seeing the sky, trees, birds and neighbors. I feel Gods presence a lot and find myself thankful with the beauty of His creation.
God bless!!🎄❤️
@@micheleandrews4779 So nice to read your comment. I'm glad Psalm 42 touched your heart. God's word is so precious. May He bless you, too!♥
I liked seeing your environment from the outside, the grass looked wonderful. I enjoy the 4 seasons, and look at my garden change all the time. you could try planted a couple of small bushes with interesting and colorful branches, or evergreens with winter berries. I do melancholy ok, I recall years ago my friends getting angry with me because I liked listening to sad music :) Real depression is something else though, I don't even want to think about it. I hope you feel better very soon. I enjoyed watching the fine nuances of your day. Also, great comments from your followers :)
The grass did very well this year. Yes, my followers always leave wonderful comments. I always say I have the best followers on TH-cam! Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!♥
This was so enjoyable Nancy! Thank you for taking us through your day! Your reading of Psalm 42 was so encouraging, a long with what you said while you were journaling. It's hard to be "up" all the time, and life can certainly get heavy. Your routine and narration was calming, and, as I said, encouraging. Very enjoyable video, and I'll bet everyone is going to hope you do more of these! (I changed how my name appears for privacy reasons, but same Karen as before! 😉)
You are so smart to protect your privacy, Karen. I feel the same way. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and received encouragement from the Psalm. God is so good to us. Take care, my friend, and thank you for your continual encouragement.♥
I enjoyed spending the day with you. God bless you!
I am so glad you enjoyed it, Gina! God bless you, too! ♥
Hi Nancy, I have missed seeing you. I pray you are doing better. Yes, winter is creeping all around me as well. I have found I enjoy the bare trees of winter because living in the mountains I see such sculptural beauty in the mountains. Hope to see you again soon. 😊❤😊🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hi Donna! I'm feeling pretty good, thank you. While I don't live in the mountains, I do see them every day, and I deeply appreciate their beauty. Especially when they're snowcapped. One more thing to be thankful for. Thanks for the reminder.
You are so loved, and very missed. Welcome back 💞
Thank you so much, Bonnie. I appreciate you! ♥
Nancy, I’ve missed you! I’m so sorry that you have been feeling down lately but maybe the Lord tugged at your heart to share your feelings with us.I start feeling anxious around this time as well. It may be the cold weather coming or maybe it’s the holidays. My parents have passed and my last baby boy will be leaving to go to seminary in January. Life will be different and I’m praying that I can graciously accept the change. Thank you for sharing that beautiful scripture. It was just what I needed to hear! I will be praying for you as the harsh winter approaches. We have mild winters here in South Georgia, however, we will be getting our first freeze the Monday after Thanksgiving! Brrrrr… I’m not looking forward to that! That’s a bit early for us! Anyway Happy Thanksgiving and I look forward to spending a day with you on your next video! ❤🙏🏻
Hello my friend! Thank you for your encouraging words. Oh, how I remember my son leaving home and experiencing the empty nest. I'll be praying for you as you make this transition. How wonderful that he is going to seminary. You must be very proud of him. Stay warm and safe, dear Sherry. ♥
Hi Nancy, sorry your sad...thanks for the video...good to see you on here..I missed you..enjoyed the video
Thanks, I appreciate you watching, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Thank you. Enjoyed this video.
Thanks, Julie. I'm so glad you enjoyed it! ♥
I love this type of video, glad you made it
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!♥
Thank you Nancy for this video. For sharing your struggles. I ,too, have been down . The first anniversary of my brother's was this past Friday. It's been a sad time. Work helps as it keeps me busy. Take care and love and prayers coming your way .
I'm sorry about your brother, Karen. I think it's always extra hard when we lose a loved one near a holiday. So hard not to dwell on the emptiness we feel with their departure. So glad you have work to keep you busy. I feel the same way about my part-time job. Really, it forces me out of the house regardless of the weather. Which I think is a good thing. Praying God's comfort for you this season and always.♥
@ajoyfulcottage Thank you love. I wish you a beautiful holiday season. I hope you will show us your Christmas decorations. I know they will be beautiful
Hi Nancy. I'm sorry you're feeling sad, but know your sisters in Christ, love & support you. I find it difficult this time of year once we turn the clocks. The days become so short & darkness is upon us too soon. I like to watch my young influencer videos who are into shopping & decorating for Christmas. I love this season, for He is the reason for the season. So I'm getting excited to decorate & adding the beautiful colorful bright lights & candles. I love the traditional colors of Christmas & I miss the snow which goes with the beautiful Christmas music. I'm in California & am looking forward to some much needed rain. Praying for the sun & the Son to warm your heart & bring a smile to your face. Maybe you need a kitty or a little dog to keep you company. Their antics make you laugh. Having my little dogs in my lap when I sit down keep me such company. God bless. Feel better soon.❤❤❤🙏🙏🎄⛄️💚💚
Hi Carol. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. Someone else mentioned a pet, and it's something I'm considering. Perhaps a kitty cat. :) God bless you, too!
So glad to see you back. Hope you will feel better with each passing day. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Sending big hugggs! xoxo
Thanks so much, Colleen!♥

Nice to share your morning with you.
Thank you, Christine!♥
Such a blessing to visit with you again. I, too, suffer from down time, here in Phoenix, it's the summer. The plants "rest" due to the extreme heat. I don't do well in the desert.
God's blessings in your season.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who experiences seasonal struggles.♥
Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure. Thank you for watching.♥
I love your positive friendly spirit. Very calming like being with a good friend.
Beautiful scripture 💜💚💙😅
I'm so glad that resonated with you, Karen.♥
I loved this video. I'm sorry you deal with SAD. I wish you could feel the way I do about Fall/Winter. I believe I feel my best, mentally, during this time. I've been this way as far back as I can remember, even as a teenager. (I'm 66 yrs old) I like the sunshine, but I'm happiest when it's chilly cold. I even enjoy gloomy days. It's a little bit calming for me, I guess? Not sure why, but I feel more alive, mixed with coziness.
Anyway, this video was just what I needed. I enjoy the grwm, & all the morning things you do. The turkey sandwich looked yummy! I could watch videos like this all the time. Not making light of SAD at all. I know it's real, & again I hate that you & others deal with it. I do think you appear to handle it well. You're a smart gal, I can tell. Keep doing what you're doing. New subscriber here.
Thank you so much for subscribing, Tiva, and welcome! I think it's great that you're happy when it's gloomy and cold. We need people like you to cheer us up on those days. 😆
Full spectrum sunlight bulbs is what my doctor recommended for me this time of year til springtime and they work. You can pick them up at Lowes or on line.
I so appreciate your channel and am praying for you🙏
Thank you!♥
Life can be overwhelming! 😢I hate those feelings! It does take one foot in front of the other, but sometimes my brain isn’t in sync with my feet! Take care!❤guess I’ll take a walk which I don’t want to do either!
Hi Beverly! You are so right about taking the day one step at a time. Sometimes that's all we can do, and that's okay. I hope you took that walk, even if you didn't want to.😉
@ yes .. I did .. got on a little treadmill I bought .. working on that! Working on a few more steps each day! Not so much for weight, but could lose a few pounds, but to get the anxiety out… then got out and bought a few groceries .. and pushed myself to put up a few Christmas decorations. Trying to chase away the blues❤️
Good job, Beverly!♥
So good to see you and hear your sweet voice again! Your willingness to be real in a society that thrives on being fake, is encouraging. As I read through the comments, I find that we are more alike than different. We all have challenges. This year our area was hit with a catastrophic storm Helene and it seems like everyone is in a mental fog. For the first time in my sixty two years I didn’t celebrate Halloween with my little trick or treaters. I didn’t put up any fall decor and still haven’t. Typically I have our Christmas decorations done by November, but none so far. I guess it just isn’t that important this year. I understand depression and so does our Father! As you were reading Psalms, it reminds us that Satan’s biggest tool is to distract us, to get our eyes off God and onto our circumstances. I’m so guilty of that. Glad that you point us back to Him!
I use homemade cleaners too! I make window cleaner, shower cleaner, all-purpose cleaner and floor cleaner. I do add essential oils to mine. So now everything has cinnamon, vanilla, apple cider scents added. Believe me with all the flood clean up it’s a welcome smell. I also have a small diffuser that keeps our living room smelling nicer. Love that bowl! And those chicken towels…cute, cute, cute! You find the best deals! I’m just thankful that you take the time to share your life with us all. Simple and intentional goes a long way! Praying for you and ALL the wonderful subscribers that follow your dear channel. You have a special ministry dear Nancy.🫶🏻💕🥰
Wow, Angela! Your comments touched me in so many ways. First off, I'm so sorry you are a victim of Helene. I can only imagine the impact that has had on your life, and the lives of those around you. Watching the images and the emotions of those affected is heartbreaking. I'm not surprised that you haven't felt motivated to decorate for the season. In the scheme of things, you're right. . .it's not that important. You are so right about Satan's attempts to turn our focus from God and onto our circumstances. I admire you so much for standing firm in your faith during such a difficult time. I'm certain that as others read your comment they will feel encouraged and that our Heavenly Father will be glorified. You have encouraged me greatly, and I deeply appreciate it. God bless you, sweet friend!♥
I live in Wisconsin and our winters can be very long. I too struggle with S.A.D every winter. Some winters are better than others. I have learned to make myself a list of things I can do to fight the boredom and low moods that come with being stuck inside the house. I put things on the list that I am too busy in spring, summer and fall to get down. This year I bought a mini trampoline so I can exercise to boost my energy and morale.
It sounds like you're taking wise steps in managing your S.A.D.. Your mini trampline must be fun!♥
Thank you for your inspiring video. I will be back to see you. 😊
Thanks, Wanda. I look forward o seeing you again. God bless you.♥
Enjoyed it!
Thanks, Sandra. I'm glad.♥
Enjoying this video. I’m a fellow sufferer with SAD. I take vitamin D. Earl grey tea, happy light and some essential oils help as well.
Thanks for sharing, Sarah. So glad you're taking care of yourself.♥
First time viewer. I was interested when I saw the title of your video. I sympathize with your melancholy state. I too have SAD. I am going to be 73 in a few days and have suffered from SAD. I live in a state that can get snow starting in Sept and go to June. I hate the cold and snow. My SAD is by far the worse it has even been this year. Complicated by very rarely leaving my house, my grandkids living several hours away and a new health condition where I can not swallow solid foods anymore. I love food but now must puree all my food. I almost cried seeing your delicious sandwich. For the first time I reached out to my Dr for help. I don't like taking medicine but may give in as he prescribed a short term use of something to hopefully help and gave me the name of a therapist.
Hoping you are feeling better. I have started decorating for Xmas and watching all the fun and wonderful Xmas shows and that has help lighten my mood.
Will continue watching your videos!
Thanks and good luck.
Thank you so much for sharing your story. It's always good to know you're not alone. Getting help from your doctor was a wise move. Praying the help you receive will improve the quality of your life. God bless you. ♥
Perhaps a fur baby would brighten your spirits? Rescuing an elderly dog or cat might help. 😊
I love your suggestion as it would make an amazing difference. The love and company of a animal is like a gift from God. There are plenty that need a home, especially the older ones. Give it a thought.
Thank you, Susan, for the suggestion. I'm giving serious consideration to adopting a cat.
The Winter twilight and soft lights are romantic. Watch chick flicks or travel and golden age classics. Get out each day and have a multi vitamin. I find going with the season's makes me happier. Bit competitive and go Winter is for ski attitudes figure skating etc. Good luck. Hugs and a prayer for you:)
Thanks, Audrey. It sounds like you've got a handle on winter. God bless you.
A pleasant life of solitude and contentment.
Hi Nancy take comfort in knowing that many of us out here gets the blues from time to time I guess it's pretty normal.l Suggestion: you are a very soft spoken lady and maybe it's just my ears but I have a hard time hearing/understanding you over the background music maybe just turn it down a little? You always keep a beautiful home and I admire that. I see in your bath you use Pecksniffs hand soap, isn't it nice - its my fave too. I think that as soon as you start working on your Christmas deco it will perk you right up . Take care.
Thanks for your kind words, Judy! I'll try to turn the music down in my next video. I found the hand soap at Ross For Less. It's Peony and Blush Suede by Charlie Tate. It has a lovely scent. I think you're right about the Christmas decor.♥
Happy Light works wonders for SAD.
Thanks for the tip, Deborah.♥
Feel better soon. ❤🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you, Sharon. I'm sure I will. ♥
I was wondering where you were.....was gonna send the posse out looking for you..i suffer from the same thing...but this too shall pass glad to see and hear you❤
Thank you so much for your concern, I'm happy to be back, Melinda!
God is the most important part of my life. I have realized how important exercise is for my mood and well being!
Excellent Michelle! So true!❤️
Beautiful video
Thank you, Stephanie! I'm so glad you enjoyed it.♥
I think your patio is beautiful
Aw, thanks Karen!♥
I am feeling the same way you are....I miss Spring. I enjoyed the video very much. I think I am going to get that water pic that you have, it looks so nice and sleek compared to other ones I have tried years ago.
I think you would like the portable Waterpik, Sandra. I used the standard Waterpik years ago, as well, and I felt it was cumbersome. This is so easy to manage, and it does a great job. Praying we'll both be feeling perky soon. ♥
I'm sorry you have been sad , if it were not for my daughter in law I would have some lonely days . My husband is one that stays up late like 3:00am and sleeps till when ever. I enjoy quite time in the morning though. Your friend will be very happy with the towels. Very pretty. I enjoy your videos hope you keep them up. Happy Thanksgiving and I love you.❤
Helen, you are so kind and sweet. I love you, too!♥
I just joined. I have SADS too. I live in New Jersey.
I feel down...this year has been so difficult..both my hubbie and I were dx with cancer and our 55 yr. Old daughter passed away 2 mo. ago of a sudden heart attack. I am facing heart surgery soon.
I needed to hear you and listen to your reading of scripture.
Bless you.❤
Also, I lost my hair during chemo. It is coming back the same shade as yours. I always colored my hair. I am debating about coloring it again. I cannot get use to the white, Grey look. On others, like you, it looks great. In the sceam of things this is my least worry.
Jesus be with us as we travel along this journey called life.❤
Barbara, I am so sorry to hear about all the extreme difficulties you are experiencing. You have my deepest sympathy and prayers. I'm glad you found my channel and I thank you for sharing your circumstances with me. I want this channel to be an encouragement to viewers, and so I hope what I shared was an encouragement to you. I do believe God's word is always an encouragement; of that I have no doubt. God bless you and your husband, and may His presence be felt and be a great comfort to you.♥
Barbara, my guess is that you look better with your natural gray/white hair than you think you do. I think going gray at first is kind of a shock, but after we get used to seeing ourselves with gray hair it becomes more "normal". I quit coloring my hair about 10 years ago mainly because I didn't want the toxicity of coloring, and the constant upkeep, not to mention the expense. I've never regretted it. At any rate, when the time is right, you'll know it. :)♥
I was feeling like that with the holidays coming. What was easy when my kids were little at home now becomes hard becomes all the different families and homes to consider. I do t want to let anyone down. Last night the Holy Spirit reminded me that my joy was found in Jesus not the holiday. I have started a Christmas devotion to keep my thoughts in the right place. I wish holidays were easy and fun but unfortunately they are not because someone not able to come or someone feelings get hurt.
Freda, I understand the family dynamics and the impact it has on the holidays, definitely a challenging time of year. I know that feeling of trying to please everyone. I love that you are doing a Christmas devotion. Praying that the devotionals will bring you peace as you draw closer to Jesus. May He bless you!♥
Make sure you take a good D3 supplement especially in the winter months. There’s ways to take it so to ensure it’s absorbed (like taking w/ k2) *speak to a med pro*
Thank you. My vitamin D level is elevated as indicated in a recent blood test, so my doctor has taken me off Vit D supplements. There is D3 and K2 in the calcium supplement I take. Be well!♥
God bless you honey. Thank you for sharing. P.S. preparation H works very well on puffy eyes XX
You are so sweet, thank you, Helen! ♥
Get one of those wee under eye roller ball and keep it in fridge, roll back and forth under eyes after eye cream, make sure its really cold ❤ x
Thanks for the tip!
