I watched this before I moved to Germany, I found it again by accident, and was happy to find you guys started off Bremen as it's where I am starting off as well!
What a lovely video of your amazing trip. Great footage, scenery, music and most important of all...smiles. Germany is so beautiful. Can't wait to watch the next episode, thank you.
Hi Rob, thanks so much for the friendly feedback. We are glad you enjoyed cycling with us through Germany. Hopefuly you like the other videos too. The new one is also already in the making 🤗
Greetings from Ireland. I wish I had the time to cycle through the whole of Germany. I love it. Have done holidays cycling the Moselle , Danube , parts of the Rhine & Lake Constance . If I loose my job tomorrow this itinerary looks great
When I lived in Berlin I worked 6 days per week 😓 so only made day trips around the area on a Sunday. I keep meaning to go back and do a cycle tour across Germany as it is a beautiful country, both scenery and architecture. And it has great cycling infrastructure. Thanks for this great video and reminder 🙂🚴♀️🏕👍
Thanks so much for watching the video. And yes we can only confirm, Germany is a great country for travelling by bike. So much to see and a lot of cycle paths! Have a great weekend Tony!
@@BetweenWheels thank you Elena and Artur, I will watch your videos from the beginning. I'll probably be cycling through Germany next year as I'm doing a cycle tour in Europe. I hope you two are still having adventures! 🚴♀️🏕 Cheers 👍
Thanks for watching! We are currently working on some more material. We hope to post soon. Greetings from South Poland. Hope you have a great start into the week!
How has your experience with pitching tents been in Germany? I am always scared, as it is is not allowed to do in non-dedicated sites in Germany right?
Unfortunaltely we dont have the route anywhere saved. But in the beginning of the videos there is always a rough outline of the placed we passed by. I hope that helps!
When you went to tourist places the the church in Cologne, where did you leave your bikes so that your stuff was not stolen? I have similar bags and I am always afraid that someone could come along and steal the whole thing even if my bicycle is locked to a pole,
Hi Amie, We always have the same issues/concerns and to be honest, I would never leave my bike with bags alone. I see many bike travelers do this and I always wonder how they are not afraid of theft. In the case of the Cologne Cathedral - we took turns - so one of us went insight while the other was looking after our stuff. Often when we went to see for example castles or other tourist attractions we ask at the till is we can leave our bags with them- sometimes there are even kind of luggage rooms where we can leave everything. Most of the time this works- however, it has also happened before that we had issues and missed out on a visit. For example with Schloss Neuschwanstein- we had issues leaving our stuff and decided against going into the castle. But thats the beauty with our kind of travel- you never know whats gonna happen or what to expect. I believe it would be also possible to call attractions in advance to see if they can accommodate storage but we never really do this. This way every day is a new surprise for us :)
I am just recovering from Lyme disease caused by a deer tic bite. Is this a problem in Germany (I am in England)? Mostly caught by walking in long grass wearing just shorts.
Hi Steve, unfortunately this is also an issue in Germany, especially in the beginning of the summer. We check our feet and legs regularly to avoid this issue. I hope you get well soon! Take care of yourself 💙
To be honest we didnt document the route too much if its about roads taken etc. When we planned the trip we picked the places and cities that we wanted to see and en route used Google Maps or Maps.me to get there. We have a rough outline in the beginning of the video of the route taken. I hope that helps! If you have question of specific parts of the trip let us know!
Guys is it not illegal to camp in germany outside? or can we just camp out of the main road or near any old village? without anyones notice? In a real need of your advice on that. Thanks
Hi Trend! Great that you liked the video. In Germany we loved cycling along the Rhine and Mosel rivers. It's a paradise for cyclist and there are so many cute little towns along the way. Rothenberg ob der Tauber in Bavaria was so beautiful as well. Like a medieval fairytale town! Looking at the entire Europe trip last year we loved Bosnia and Herzegovina. We loved the history and culture of the country and the ever changing untouched landscapes and the friendliest people. There is still a Video to come about cycling in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We also loved cycling in America, especially in the deserts in Utah and Death Valley in california. But unfortunately we didn't film that adventure. But you can see some pictures on our Instagram. Happy cycling 💙
Hello BW’s... thanks for sharing your video. Can you share with me how you created the red dots route over the map towards the beginning of the video? Can it be done on an iPad? TY Optimistic Chris
Hello! You are very welcome. Artur did this effect on his iMac but I'm sure you can also do it on your iPad as long as you have the software called Motion. The way Artur did it is, he took a screenshot of an empty map and a map with the dots (with exact the same dimensions) . He was using Motion to blend in the second screenshot over the first using the following TH-cam tutorial: th-cam.com/video/k9svbVjCEGk/w-d-xo.html . I hope it helps! Good luck with the edit
When filling water bottles from a faucet be sure not to fill from any attached hose. remove the hose and fill from the faucet itself. Most garden hoses are not food safe and imparts a very bad smell to the water.
You might want to try giving more of a narrative when you video tape these trips. Trying to show this to my family who's from Germany and we don't have a clue where you guys are at it all during this just a little bit of advice talk more about where you're at site you're seeing, city you're visiting.
Hi Norm, your advise is greatly appreciated. This was the first time we have filmed ourselves during touring and we are still looking for the best ways to do this. There is definitely more to improve and we need to become more vocal. Its learning in progress ;) Have you checked out our other videos from Austria and Slovenia? Thanks again for the feedback!
Thanks! We are glad you enjoy the video. We love cycling too! Wild camping is not allowed in Germany, however there is always a way to do it cheap or for free. You could ask landowners to camp at their properties or ask locals for good spots to put up your tent. Also, if you are careful and hide well it's possible for free. If you are in a touristic are there will also be campgrounds that are much cheaper than hotels. However, we are not big fans of campgrounds. Let us know if you have any questions!
Didn't know there were snakes in Germany- Adders? We have then imbibe UK too on heathland.we get some real jerks toward cyclists here, not all, most drivers okay but some are dangerous but jobs. Have you ever had problems with drivers on your travels?
Yes we see quite many snakes all around Europe! Was surprised myself! Most of the times the drivers are careful but we get taken over many times way to close and too fast. The most annoying thing is if the cars or motorbikes on the opposite lane overtake a car in front of them and go on our lane. The worst traffic experience we had was in Hungary when a car overtook us and banged with the side mirror against the oncoming car, while driving more than 100 kmh. It was a big band and gave a fright to everybody. But we were happy that nobody got hurt!
I watched this before I moved to Germany, I found it again by accident, and was happy to find you guys started off Bremen as it's where I am starting off as well!

Thanks! We used MapsMe and Google Map.
I've just realised the big difference between the countryside in the UK and Germany - you don't do hedges!! And, was that an adder?
Yes thats true. Its the same in Ireland, hedges everywhere. Not sure about the adder, what minute did you see it?
@@BetweenWheels At 3:03.

We didn't make any bad experience. It's always very important to be respectful of the environment and not leave any traces, such as rubbish.
