- WE CHANGED OUR SONS NAME!!! (Full Explanation)
As you know our baby boy Neo was born Deaf with severe to profound hearing loss. After all of the doctor checkups we found out that he is Profoundly Deaf. Hearing aids are not able to help him so we are hoping that the Cochlear Implants will give him access to sound. For the time being we are doing Sign language (ASL) with our son Neo. We found out that in the Deaf community it is a gift to be given your sign name by a Deaf person. So we officially got his sign name today and we are so excited to share it with you!

I pray for you all daily. Your journey has touched me so deeply and made me want to learn to sign. I have a 32 year old son who was diagnosed with a sensory neurol hearing loss at age 4 after years off ear infections, an adenoids surgery, countless audiology visits and finally hearing aids. It was tough accepting this at first but we quickly knew that we would be able to make it through this journey. He picked out the wildest colored molds and hearing aids and we let him. He still has a hearing loss, nothing profound as Neo's but lives a great life traveling the world. Be encouraged that Neo is destined for greatness. He will truly be an amazing influencer just like Mom, Dad, and Big Sis Abella. I love you Can family be blessed🙏🏽🙏🏽❤❤

Beautiful family! I think the correct verbage is Crystal’s friend who is deaf and not crystals deaf friend. I learned that the disability doesn’t come first because it doesn’t define the person.

Another tip to combine deaf and hearing community is to put up subtitles on your vlogs. I have no idea if it's harder to do such a thing but it would be cool to see that

Well, they didn't really change his speech name, they've just changed his SIGN name, which is assumed to be given as a gift from someone who is deaf in the deaf community.

OMGGGG!?!?!?!??! I really can't believe this but I still remember this. The day Neo was born, Niko asked on his ig story to guess the baby's name. And I responded with Nial ( but to be written as NEIL) as it is an amalgamation of niko+cristal. Since, that day I had this name for baby Neo in my mind. It is seriously super shocking to me that his name is changed to Neil officially. Because, even from day 1I knew he's destined for the stars, and he's way special life ahead. love you baby Neil, stay strong and healthy you guys! much love

Awe that's so beautiful Neo's sign name. I at one time was in a sign language class and I had so much fun. I had to eventually quit to take care of my mom. She had to have two total knee replacements six months between the two and never got back to it but I learned so much. Someday I hope to continue with learning this beautiful language 💕
